My only hope is that my last supervisor didn't tank my rep so much that no one else will hire me in the county. This county is so small that jobs that fit my background are few and far between.

On my side is the fact that the Director of Env doesn't care for that last supervisor and seems independent enough to make her own choices.

So please....send me light and luck!!!! I would really appreciate it

Yes, actually two of the people I worked with (the infectious dz coordinator and the Admin coordinator) had me list them on my application as references. I also worked with the director a few times on a couple of food poisoning cases.

I heard that most people in the county are aware of the former supervisors problems (she has been removed from several projects now and had my unit moved before she could touch me, I would still be there).

Ahhh.. it is a hard county to get a job in, I'll tell ya that!!! It's been almost 4 months and before the other job I went almost 8 months without work.

Most see my resume and cringe thinking I will ask for too much dough or that I am over-qualified LOL.. . I just want a job!! LOL...

OMG.... how weird is this? I have an interview on Tuesday for a job I didn't even apply for!!! One of my friends is married to the superintendent of the county and she has 3 openings in her office. All pay more than what I made with the Health Dept and I would be working in the education system!!!

I also have a potential interview coming up with the Env. Health dept and one of the members on my drug awareness comittee has asked for me to meet his on Post contact for lunch.

I also finally found the strength to cut communications off with the ex-fiance for good. LOL.. since telling him I want no further contact, things seem to have turned around 100%. I knew better than to allow him back into my life, but he seemed so sincere until the other day when he called. He wanted me to have MY father pick up a dreamcatcher so that he could send it to his ex-girlfriend. He had no idea that the request was unreasonable and blew up when I was hesitant about doing it.

I decided right then and there.. he is back to his old patterns, old habits and violent temperment. I don't need that in my life... so, I told him no more contact. Have a great life and leave me alone. On a side note, it is this ex that was one of the contributions to our intitial break up in July. Just another one of his many secrets and lies.

Oh well... life is looking up. Thank you all so much for your well wishes. I really needed it!!!!

I'm glad and relieved to hear that you've cut off the former Mr Taurus for good. I have to admit I felt some feelings of dread when you wrote that you two were on friendly speaking terms again.....

Yeah.. you, me, my family..etc... many people were dreading the fact that he and I started to talk again. I'll admit that for the last month and a half my life felt dark and dreary talking to him. I felt a tremendous amount of guilt because I knew it my heart it was wrong. I had hard time sleeping, I felt like hiding out from my friends and even skipped some of the meetings for the organization I belong to - which meant that I missed working on a few kids programs.

Once I made the decision that I no longer needed his kind of friendship and cut off the communication, I felt like a huge boulder lifted off my back and over the past few days my energy level is back up and I feel good about going out again.

What really hit home was that thread on emotional vampires. I saw so many of the traits in him and the realization of the person he is came at me full force. Maybe Venus retrograde clouded my judgement or like a very close Cappy friend of mine said "Pidaua, you feel that bond because you do not fall in love easily, but you also know that he is toxic for you".

Some people are just not meant to be and I know I wasn't as nice to him this go round, but that is how it is. We just don't connect.

I hope things are well with you. I will update everyone about my interview.
