It doesn't matter . They always the same for 9, 18, 27, 36, 45,54,63,72 and 81, which are the only possible answers to your calculation. Try it without picking any numbers just click next

We've just divided the total number of icons which is 84 by the number of each different icon and there were 9 of each sign I think - 9x9=84 so is it something to do with that?

Given that I couldn't ever do maths at school, and would crawl under my desk at the very mention of "A train is travelling at..." type questions, I'm afraid I didn't get any further with that little thesis

Any ideas?

Ah, ok - I get it.

I did realize that my answers were all multiples of 9, and the symbols for the multiples of 9 were all the same - but, they're not always assigned the symbol. Each time you do it, the 9's are assigned a different symbol. So, that's why you get different results -

F'ing brilliant....Who thinks this stuff up?
