I thought the acting in "The Color Purple"
was flawless...Moved me to tears often....

>>>Oh yes! Me too!
I cry every time I watch that one too!!!

I guess a "happy ending" is one that "moves" me in some way...My emotional nature is very controlled... So it is even more "moving" for me than others perhaps because I rarely get to that "moved to show emotion" point with regards to my own experiences...
Music does much the same

>>>I can definitely relate to that!

Anyway, I saw a movie called "Possession"
after the Book (same title). About the poet, Arthur? Ash... Gweneth Paltro was the lead. Very Neptunian theme..great ending...
Seen or Read it?

>>>Sounds very interesting! I will have to see it and also read the book!
Thanks for the tip!

You also mentioned "Prince of Tides" with Nick Nolte &
Shawshank Redemption.
Love those also!
I guess I would have to add a sappy sweet one to the list now....
"Forever Young"
and sad but happy bittersweet...
"Somewhere In Time".

"Forever Young"... I liked this one too...A very young Elijah Wood..with those big ole' blue eyes...I am also a fan of Jamie Lee and Mel Gibson(as an actor)...That is one handsome Capricorn!
But yes I loved the ending...

"Possession" is a Novel by: A.S. Byatt...
It has a wonderful twist at the end....one of those self-discovery kind of things...it was awesome..especially if you like poetry

I loved the ending of "Crash." Also, "Magnolia."

I love movies that end by leaving characters on the brink of internal transformation. It's such a huge feeling.

There are more... fun topic.

I liked the end of the onscreen version of "The Count of Monte Cristo". The main character finally gets his life back...and some more. Actually, I love that whole movie in general. Its for my secret romantic side most people don't see. Plus its a great revenge flick .
