Hmmm..... hard to think of happy ones. Watched the Fisher King last night and despite that making me cry loads, it also had a happy ending.

Hmmm, okay, some favourites.....
The Truman Show (one of the best endings known to man!)
Strictly Ballroom (really awwwwww)
Gladiator (okay, a bit sad, but happy sad).

Oh, there are so many movies with great endings.

Life As A House

I have a tough time remembering endings in particular, but this one is definitely a stand out.

I loved "Bend it like Beckham"
that was such a feel great movie

another one I recently discovered is
"Son of the Bride"
I think this one is from Argentina

the last one is
"Ma vie en rose" this is about a little boy who wants to be a girl. I loved it

all three are great movies (and foriegn to me)

next on my list is Tsotsi

my favorite movie ending is
"and they lived happily ever after...."
(and gave unlimited educational resorces to underprivledged children )

As long as it doesn't leave me feeling, "Huh?" I'm okay. Twisted endings are interesting, but I'm a sucka for "happily ever after" kind of things. Can' think of any example at the moment (too bloated to think)

I liked "A Time to Kill" w/ Samuel L. Jackson...also the "The Pelican Brief" w/ Denzel and Julia Roberts.. and speaking of Julia.. I also loved "Erin Brockovich"

Another movie in which it was happy but then again not... but did all come together nicely was the "Prince of Tides" with Nick Nolte...

I do agree with Shawshank... probably my very most favorite.

Fayte

I thought the acting in "The Color Purple"
was flawless...Moved me to tears often....

I guess a "happy ending" is one that "moves" me in some way...My emotional nature is very controlled... So it is even more "moving" for me than others perhaps because I rarely get to that "moved to show emotion" point with regards to my own experiences...
Music does much the same

Anyway, I saw a movie called "Possession"
after the Book (same title). About the poet, Arthur? Ash... Gweneth Paltro was the lead. Very Neptunian theme..great ending...
Seen or Read it?

"The World Trade Center".

It's hard to call it "happy" but seeing the main characters survive and unite with their families certainly brings tears of joy and gratitude.
