I have nothing good to say about them. ...

I would recommend limiting your children's time playing them..and also to know what exactly they are playing..meaning..you have to play them to see... .

Sheesh.

You want violence? Read the Bible.

How do you control the masses? Write a book about a deity and convince/terrorize as many people as possible into believing it's the truth.

Change your perspective and you change the world.

I don't want people to freak out..or feed negative energy to this..I just want to deal with the possiblity..
and probablities...

everything is okay..everything happens for a reason..and a season to KNOW...
some things may be out of our control
that is way it is so IMPORTANT for all
of us to unite..In the Love and Light
of the One True God..of ALL

one possiblity..is Robots taking over the Earth..Mind Altered Humans..by technology

separatism is our worse enemy..we are all
in the same boat..rock the boat gently
undertake to do everything with Love..
help one another..brothers and sisters

what are all of you thinking?

Remember when video games came out gently..from the Walt Disney movies..well..on Nintendo..my favorite was the Lion King one..I couldn't get enough of it..hehe

it's been years..my daughter's are 15 and 16
and after that phase..we pretty much phased them out..they do have gameboy's but rarely use them..and we have gamecube..presents from Nanny..my mom...

Hi lotus..

I think you have a point -- some video games are okay, but a lot of them now are waaaaaaaay too violent. I can't even believe some of them -- I'm just like, "what??"

it is sad, when you think about it....

I think if you don't like video games, just don't buy them and shut up. I mean, people, in general have all this crap to say about video games. I've been a gamer since I was 8 years old. I'm well into my adult years now and I'm quite happy.

If you're not watching your kids, that's your own fault. For that matter, anything happens to your kids on MySpace is your fault as well. The TV and the computer are not babysitting tools. It is up to parents to instill values, morals and reality into their children, and going to school really does not teach them those things either.

Trillian!

The only thing wrong with video games is that they kill your free time. But they're great for escapism, once in a while. Cheaper than drugs, too.

And as for the violence - this is the world we've created. Violence in entertainment is only a by-product, not the cause.

I think video games are actually healthy for me., whether it is violent or not. I get to unwind from a long week of work/college, veer out of reality for a while and save the world. How can that not be a good thing?

I like playing video games and online games. It's a great way to relax. I've been playing video games since they first came out with them.

My grand daughters play X-Box and Playstation II games. They also play games on the computer at Nick and Nick Jr. as well as other sites. But we are selective about what games they play.

I agree with Lotus and others here who say that some games are far too violent and contain too much sex for kids to be playing them. They should only be sold to people 18 or over.

Some of the worse movies and video games for kids come from Disney. Lots of sexual innuendos contained in them.

While we are on the subject what about some of the toys out these days for kids? Whoever came up with the Bratz dolls for little girls should be shot at sunrise. Those dolls all look like hookers.

Exactly lotus....kids don't spend any time outdoors anymore.

I don't see kids outside playing!!

Video games aren't the end of the world -- hell, a lot of them are pretty fun -- I just think it's kind of sad when they (and also TV and computers) take the place of being outside in the fresh air, playing games and being with friends, etc.

Aggression & violence was around before video games - I don’t think it’s fair to blame them. We are responsible for our own actions. Though I do agree parents should monitor what their children are playing.

All I know is, there was once a time where father and son could go hunting together. And guns could be left around the property. And children did not get into fights.

Now, we do so much to try to protect our children from guns, and anything else that they could possibly become more violent from.

Maybe parents should just do their damned job and there wouldn't be so many problems. As much as I may have wanted to shoot up my school when I was younger, I had the fear put into me of the consequences behind such actions. Train your damned child.
