Our son Jacob (who is 7 years old) is bloody hilarious!!!

He told me ""when i am a man I am going to own an art galllery in London. I shall wear all black, and when I drink, I will be posh and stick my little finger out"".

* * * * * * * * * *

He walks around the house saying "hey babee, do you think I am cool" and then winks at me!

* * * * * * * * * *

Whilst driving him home from school one day him and his little friend were saying "yes daaaarling, no daaaarling" in the most affected French accent. When I asked him what it was he said "Oh Mum you know,its the little woman in the Incredibles". I watched it....he had the voice DEAD ON...haha!!

* * * * * * * * * *

One day he found some black knee length boots in my closet which I dont often wear (I cant walk in the damn things). He said "whats up with you Mum...are you going all saxy then?

* * * * * * * * * *

He asked me when he was about 4 what I would come back as in my next life. I replied "Oooh a black cat I think" and he replied..."Oh who is gonna make my breakfast then". I explained I would learn to stand on two feet so I could still feed him. He roared with laughter and then said "you still wouldnt be able to reach the cupboard though".

* * * * * * * * * *

Theres more....back later, if I can remember,

Arent kids wonderful.....

lol Sue, great thread!

My 5 year old niece talking to her grandma:

my niece: Ohh, when I grow up I will be travelling all around the world to discover beautiful and unknown lands...

my mom: ohh, but what about me? I will be missing you so much!

my niece: I told you when I grow up! You will have died by that time so don't worry!

I asked our son if he had made any new friends at school...and mentioned one particular child, a girl. I said "do you like Helena" and he said "what as a friend" and I replies "well what else would I mean" and he says "oh I thought you meant the love thing".....

7 going on 17.....oh dear !!!

I keep thinking of more.....

He came up to me shortly after my mum passed over and put his arms around me and said "I am so sorry your mother died". I thanked him and he looked up at me a little worried and said "oh I dont want you to be insulted, but I need to say something"...so I said "go ahead", and he replies I know you are sad, but she was a bit boring, wasnt she".....God bless him!

When Mum was alive and we would mention grandma and grandad he would ask "is that the fun ones (my hubbies parents are a lot younger) or the boring ones....

I am sure Mum would understand.... She had a very dry Capricorn sense of humour and she was well used to me teasing her..

I love the honesty of children and I love the way Jacob already has the gift of being totally honest and yet being aware of HOW he says things. Thats quite a gift for a little one isnt it?

Bless him....

Sue

Just this afternoon I was buying liquor and my daughter was chatting away to the lady at the counter. She said "I'm 4" and the lady said "oh, I thought you'd be at least 5."

My daughter says "No I'll be 5 next birthday, then I'll be 6, then I'll be 7, and then I'll be 18!"

The older guy behind us said "That's about how it happens too!"

Bless him sue, he sounds adorable children say the best things.

My sister and her best friend both believe in fairies - they’re both seven - anyway, someone at school told her they don’t exist. She was a little disappointed…particularly about the tooth fairy. So the other day, we were sitting watching tv and a commercial for Johnson’s, I think, came on with little fairies flying around - and in the most regal, posh know it all voice, she said “SEE, I knew fairies are real” I was just like “yeah hun”

Jacob was a little ill in the night....with a cold. So I brought him into our bed.

This morning he went to the bathroom and on his return he leaned over the bed and gave me a hug and a kiss and said "thanks for being my mother"... He then followed me downstairs to have breakfast. I opened the door and beckoned him to go through and he bowed to me and said "Madam....ladies first".

Haha...that Libra moon is gonna stand him in SUCH good stead, and that Scorpio Sun and Venus.....well we know what that could do.....

Yesterday I was on my back porch with my friend who lost her husband last year. THe sky was lovely and we were watching the clouds. She said "Look there is a Rainbow", I didn't belive her at first, the sky was so blue, with just a couple clouds, no sign of rain. But sure enough when I move to where she was I could see it too. A very small rainbow right over her head. It only lasted minute then it was gone.

After school I picked lup my daughter and Nick a child a care for. I was telling Marcy about the rainbow and Nick said "That was the love from that man who died". Bless him he is only 6. I hadn't mentioned my friend's husband, but that was exactly what I had thought of when I saw the little rainbow.

I was watching tv with him and there was this beautiful violet light during the programme. I said "wow cosmic"...he laughed and said "cosmic"? Thats all those hippy things isnt it, like groovy man and bell bottoms and flowers. For the next half hour or so he proceeded to say in an effected American accent..."cool man, cosmic, hey babe its cosmic man"...

He then asked me a questions and I said "I dont know jack sprat or something sillier just to tease him and he then replied in a very affected English accent..."Oh Mother you are so not posh enough and now you have to be thrown out of the long white glove society"....

What is he on? He is going to be a real thespian I feel....how delightful and how very enchanting he is....

As many of you mothers will know, it can be very hard to get children ready and out for school on time....

Some mornings I feel very tired as I dont always sleep too well...!

So trying to get everything moving can be impossible...but i have to laugh cos Jacob often runs around naked shouting "look at me everyone I am nude" and then proceeds to do the funniest moves ever (an adult would get arrested for doing them.. )

His dance routines are SO funny, I would love to invite you all over to be flies on the wall....absolutely hilarious and at times I am gobsmacked....!!

I love all these stories! All your kids sound fantastic!

Having no kids of my own as yet, I often listen out in supermarkets and queues various for any pearls of wisdom

I was out doing the weekly shop the other day and saw this little lad with his mum and his gran. He was running round and having a wonderful time sticking his tongue out at his gran every time he passed her - she was pretending to be outraged and the pair were giggling fit to bust.

Then his mum suddenly realised she should probably 'bring him up' in the midst of all this hilarity, and said to him, "Now James stop that it's rude. What do you say to your gran?"

The little boy stopped for a moment, deep in thought and obviously searching through all the lessons he'd had so far in manners, beamed and said... "Hello Gran!"

Could have eaten him!

Sarah..... cute or what....thanks!!

i was just putting Jacob to bed and he is getting all excited about Halloween....

He gave me one of those looks and said "Mum, are you gonna dress up again this year...you and Dad" and I replied "yes sure'. He looked a little uncomfortable and said "well actually, i find it a bit childish you doing that, and a bit embarrassing" I said 'its okay Jake, we dont have to dress up, its no problem"......he then looked like he was gonna cry and said "sorry if I offended you"...

Oh my, that child is something else....so honest and kind, yet sensitive....and really funny...

Sue, it sounds like you have really nurtured your son and, thank God, not stifled his spontaneity. 7 is the best age.

Lots of love,

Just to add to the theme.

This weekend my lil' Aqua and I were at my mother's house.

My mother's television was acting up... there was a picture but no sound.

My mom fumbled with it for a few minutes...

My daughter hops up... gets behind the television, fiddles with some wires... and yep, the sound turns on.

My mom looks at her with that "how did you figure that out" look.

Lil' Aqua looks at her with a big smirk and says "that'll be $5.00".

My mom said "$5.00!".

Lil' Aqua then said very matter of factly "Hey, I don't come cheap".
