Hey! Anybody watching Idol this year!
I really get addicted to these kinds of shows ..
I liked how they did not spend too much time in the elimination process... It was a goood thing for my Aries Moon... that just wants to "Get on with it".
Top 24 chosen last night!
Thoughts ?
Favorites?

I was really disappointed that Bailey from Texas... Bailey Brown I believe. Cute little blonde... and she could sing!
FORGOT her words! ALL her words... uggg!

OH! and Robin Troupe was cut in the group round... She, funny enough, was the winner singing with Justin Timberlake on the Grammys...hmmmm
I thought she did a good job with the performance and the pressure of it all..
I guess fate works in strange ways!

Self-proclaimed Idol junkie here

I like that curly haired dude, Chris. Love his dry humor. Wonder if he's a Cap?
I like the Sundance dude too, he's a bit Cappy-like to me as well.

Guy who just had a baby, Phil, is super cute and can sing too. No guesses on astrology, too busy looking at his baby and cute smile.

They cut the three girls I liked most, but I do like the Mommy that cried when she found out she was going on. LaKesha, or spelled something like that...

I like that shy little Sandja kid too, whose sister didn't make it.

I like the interview process, I like getting to know them before the "show" starts. But I think they didn't like that... then people with personality but not as much singing skill get farther than they should. That annoying little dude that sang last year comes to mind. Kevin, sheesh, how do I remember that!??

I've only watched this week's show, but I liked Chris and Sundance best too. The show is ok but there are too many annoying people among the good people, you know? And I'm more critical of them than Simon is.

Chris must be a Scorpio, in addition to being a 250lb man who still has an intense and sexy energy about him... he also REALLY provoked Simon with the Divo and Teletubbies comment. Simon had to pull out the big guns and play the "fat" card. It got a little ugly there for a minute. The Divo/Tele comment was also a perfect and precise, well-aimed shot. Fascinating. Someone said in another thread on the astrology forum that Simon is a Libra. I wonder if there is a chart out on him yet.

I just watched Paul. I was a little horrified for him. Good song, but you've gotta hit that high note if you're gonna go for it.

Chris did well I thought. (Oh, I guess I should say Chris 1. I think there must be at least two Chris'.)

I liked that a Keane song got in there, but I didn't enjoy it's execution (Blake).

Sanjaya - Pisces?

Chris 2 did well I thought. Even if rushed he was well-controlled I thought.

I got a Leo vibe from Jared.

ZenW, I would miss Hugh too, but turns out he is the voice of the dad in Stuart Little 3 which I watched with my little one Tuesday morning. Sounded nothing like him, very STRANGE. But, his true voice sounds nothing like House either, so I don't know why I am surprised...

Now AG!!! Yay! Music show for us to analyze!!! Anyway, I don't know all of their names yet. I usually write them all down, but I just don't feel any excitement for many of the contestants this year because they did such quick auditions on Hollywood week. I know you have a super internet connection and can check the website, but I don't even bother, it takes too long to load all of the pictures and links. LL is actually the fastest loading site that I have come across. It's very nice. ANYWAY, Sanja is so shy, I always think Virgo when I see him, but your Pisces point is a good one since he cried those big tears for Sis.
Cute Phil's new haircut is startling and it makes his ears steal the show. Bad decision on his part. I liked beat-box kid a lot, and also the guy that Randy and Paula didn't like that had a great voice and sounded good in my opinion and Simon agreed with me(as he usually does...) hehe I liked it that Phil said Simon was right, I had just been thinking a little bit before that (when annoying Ryan SeaCrest was trying to get contestants to fight with Simon by saying "you aren't going to take that, are you??") that the first thing I would do is agree with Simon and tell him how much I valued his opinion and how I have agreed with 90% of his opinions since the beginning of the show.

Oh and bare foot boy - what is he THINKING?
How did you like his George Michael rendition? I left the room half way through because I was bored and I don't usually miss a minute of Idol. They all were pretty bad tonight in one way or another because of nerves and stage presence etc, but I've decided that is just because I get spoiled from the end of the season before. They will all get much better.
Now I have to figure out how to work my VCR again to tape Survivor on Thursday. And here I had my boring homebody earth sign (moon) life all worked out and now CHAOS!

ZW ~ I'm glad I'm not the only one who needs Hugh Laurie time. My friends like to tease me because I have a crush on him... I don't know what it is. I'm not even usually attracted to older men. There's just something about that man!

I'm a total idol addict too. Thank goodness for Tivo. I can watch House and AI.

Thursday's going to be tough with Survivor, Earl, Office, House, AND Idol. My poor Tivo box can't handle all of that! I'm going to have to choose something to miss.

I was disappointed in Sanjaya's performance. He's adorable and his first audition was amazing. He's got a great voice but I think nerves just got to him.. plus I don't think he picked a great song.

Chris was great.. He's so funny!

I think my favorite performance of the night was the former back up singer.. Brandon? He's hot and he's got a great voice. I think he seemed the most comfortable up there tonight.

I'm very curious to see how the ladies do...

George Michael rendition:

First, I was trying to figure out if the song really sounded familiar or not. At the start it only sounded mildly familiar. I should mention that Paul sang this song. During that song is when I first decided to post in this thread. So then I realized that it was Careless Whispers, and I thought, "George Michael's a good singer, I hope he can pull it off." He wasn't doing great, but he was doing ok. Then he went for the high note, and my hands went instinctively to cover my mouth in horror. That was just gruesome in my opinion, and I was really surprised that the judges weren't harder on him for it.

I only knew the names because I wrote about the people while the show was on.

I'm not into House. Scrubs is the only hospital show I watch anymore.

I think big Chris is a Scorpio as well...
He just has an intensity... gotta be some Scorpio somewhere in there.
But I also think there is some Cappy, too.
He and Sundance (whom I also get a Cappy vibe) just have that Cappy wit....

All in all i was not really impressed with anybodys performance... nobody really stuck out....I also think their song selections were horrible....
I thought Blake did okay.. it was nice to hear his voice.. not just the beep-bop or whatever you call it.
The only time I've really enjoyed Sundance was his first audition. I was surprised he made it given that his Hollywood week stuff was horribly out of tune.
Sanjaya, yes, i believe is very Neptunian.
His performance was weak though.
I sure hope they get it together..
SONG SELECTION is so key! Who is advising these people???

Well, the ladies sing tonight...
I really like Idol.. I go almost all year barely watching any T.V. Of course, I have 2 kids under 10 so Disney, Nick and Cartoon Network are favs at my house.. Ask me anything about Ben 10..
Then late Winter rolls around and I'm fighting for 24 on Monday.. and Deal or no Deal...I love that game!!
Thursday is Hospital night for me.. Greys and E.R. back to back.

Simon reminds me of my father.. A no holds barred tell it like it is kinda guy..
Libra, Libra ASC, Gemini Moon... Yes, it was rough...

Harpyr.. I like Brandon, too~ shoes or no shoes.. He has poise.

Hooray for sexy britsh men!!!!

I agree totally about the Idol/Survivor/Earl,Office,Scrubs b.s. naughty tv producers are going to regret that one. Survivor isn't usually on at the same time as Idol, right? Extra season or what?

Looks like I'm getting the guys messed up. No shoes guy bored me so I left to change a load of laundry or something, so maybe I missed when he got better. Ok, so Paul was the Careless Whisper guy. I must have started doing homework or something by then. It's odd because I usually don't want to miss a second of Idol. I did like the boy with the boy-band voice who did that upbeat rockin' song, don't remember what it was... but I agreed with Simon about his voice seeming "small" for it. I didn't know how to describe what I thought, but that described it well.

"I think big Chris is a Scorpio as well...

He and Sundance (whom I also get a Cappy vibe) just have that Cappy wit...."

Couldn't agree more with that, Stargazer!!! And Thursday is my usual couch potatoe night where I watch t.v. for 3 straight hours in a practically vegetative state. It used to be Survivor/Apprentice and then E.R., but since Apprentice moved and I love Scrubs, I usually watch that and then either turn it off 'til E.R. or watch second half of Gray/Grey?

Yeah, what's up with Sundance? He was one of my favorites.

Lakisha

She gave me goosebumps with the very first note... you just knew it would be a great performance!!!
By far the best!!! Leo?

I also liked Jordan.. i get a Cappy vibe from her as well.

I thought Stephanie, Sabrina and Melinda also rose to the occasion...
They at least held my attention.

The girls are for sure going to give the guys a run for thier money...
It will be interesting to see who goes...
I wonder if any of the girls changed their song selection after hearing the guys?
I know Ryan asked a few whether or not they changed anything?

Oh well, Idol at 8 Greys at 9
I wonder if Merideth dies? It would be tough for me to think they'd kill off the main character... But thats what i thought when George Clooney left ER...
They said "devasting" event. There should be a rule or something for this... I mean if they say devastating, it should "be" just that... Merideth's mother would not count.. if you know what i mean?

LaKesha has been my favorite. And she was beyond amazing. I love her. In Simon's words, everyone else can just get their plane tickets home... I have more comments but I am so buried with homework that I haven't had the time.

Anyone watching tonight?

Got to admit I'm impressed with Chris Richardson (who did the Jason Mraz song Geek in Pink or something). Very good control along with his unstunted flow. I think he must be Mercurial.

My favorites tonight were Blake the beat box boy, and Sundance (each got a solid heart ). My next favorites were boy band Chris2 and Brandon Rogers (who Simon didn't like because he sang some girly song to his Gma). Those two got hearts that weren't filled in (liking my ranking system so far? hehe)
I think Sanjaha should be one of the two going home, but it might be like last year with annoying Kevin who got all the grandma votes out of cuteness combined with pity. The rest were good too, so I couldn't decide who else should go, but I guess I was pretty neutral on AJ and Phil (straight across line where the smile should be on the smilie face) and like Simon said, Phil isn't going anywhere.
Nick Pedro got a regular smilie face and Jarrad (Let's Get It On guy) and Chris-1 (curly hair dry humor guy) both got big super smilie grins (but not the coveted Solid Heart ranking)
I liked Chris' song choice "Saved by a Woman", I have to look up that one and "Let's Get It On" to post on the lyrics thread! hehe
