Our bodies are material. Are they nothing? I don't believe they are all we are but I don't believe they're meaningless. What we learn from our bodies is very important. When you feel pain or pleasure, that registers in your soul for your own growth. In fact, most of what we've learned has come to us through our senses as a response to the world around us. It inspires a thought or a feeling inside us that we can use to find our way into higher realms. Think of Helen Keller. As a child, she could only interpret her world from how it felt, smelled and tasted. And she learned things through those senses that would floor the rest of us. Have you read her writings? Imo, God/dess is everywhere ... lift a stone, split a log, s/he is there. Including in us. Believing this material reality is all there is is, to me, equally as dangerous as believing our physical life is worthless. We wouldn't be here if we didn't have something to learn from it and this materiality wouldn't be here, either. Becoming a hermit in a remote part of the world with little to no possessions may be the way for some people and that's fine with me. But how many people will those people be able to reach out and help? Everyone's got their own path to follow. Everyone matters. Everything we do has a purpose whether or not we can see it or appreciate it at the time ... to include the mundane realities of life. You can wake up and spend your day in the bliss of other worldliness but, for most of us, eventually you're going to have to wash the laundry and pay your rent, too. Just my opinions, again. You've nothing to apologize for, lotusheartone. I'm not insulted by being told I think in a masculine way. I believe in a divine duality and I have nothing against masculine energies. I strive for balance. Besides, we can always just agree to disagree. IP: Logged |

maybe I should clarify what I mean by material...I mean something that is in-animate not living... for anything that contains life, is of God. ... IP: Logged |

The reason I believe the law of attraction has worked for me is because I willfully attracted faith in "GOD" into my life! Is there sin in that??? Don't you think prayer is another form of attracting?IP: Logged |

From all the posts I have read so far I think that the Law Of Attraction, imo, is to take responsibility for your own actions, deeds, words, life and not let your world make you feel out of control. The idea seems that you control your world. That you innately know and wish and dream what your spirit needs and that insecurities and doubts should be cast aside. That faith in yourself and universe (God) is above all and that God wants you to have a wonderful life. This is what i think you all are saying. IP: Logged |

Yes, but, what I am trying to say is, there is karma, and every action has a re-action... you get what you give the Universal Laws Laws of Attraction... we have karma from other lives... to balance..so if you put this karma off by using Laws for Self then there will eventually be a price to pay... for we reap what we sow. ... I need to clarify me thoughts here: I guess it IS selfish to manifest purely for ego centered wants. Like -- i want a mercedes and so on. If you need a car to do your lifes work which i am going to presume involves helping others in some way then i think it is ok to use your mind power for attracting that. I also think that what lotus is saying about working to the good of all is correct. Ultimately i think our spiritual purpose is to work to the evolvement for all. Another thought: If you come to understand divine energy then you would know that divine energy will take care of your needs and then there never would be a reason to want anything because all wants would be already manifest. So maybe manifesting/attracting things comes out of fear which is not really being spiritually evolved after all. Im saying here that manifesting works but it is not really a spiritually growing thing to do. My last comment: My gradmother is 93 and in a nursing home. Last night i visited her and we were chatting. She said she had been thinking about her life, about the good and bad things that she had done. She wouldn't talk about bad things so i asked her what good things she remembered. She said " well , i never turned away anybody who needed my help". I thought that pretty much summed it all up for me. She remembered at the near end of her life that she helped other people. How cool that was for me to hear. Actually i started to cry but for good reasons. IP: Logged |

That was a very nice comment thirteen! That would be so nice to get to be that old and have such a peace of mind in your lifetime like that. you grandma sounds like a wonderful woman.I have been reading some info on the secret and i truely believe that with anything in life that you can use it to the good or to the bad. The secret seems like a great postive tool that can really change your life as long it is not abused. IP: Logged |
