Neptune, I hope you never lose that desire that you have to fight for justice in the world in all situations.

It's people like yourself who have always made a difference in the world.

B!tching and moaning is fine as long you don't only do that but put it into action which you did in this case. If nothing else it might make the teacher think about her actions. Being a teacher in a Catholic school as she is I would hope that might be the case anyway.

Takes courage to speak out about injustice of any kind because you WILL get flak for it as you are doing with this girl and some of the other students. For that reason I do admire your willing to take that risk instead of just stewing and doing nothing. Taking the easy path unfortunately is what way too many do which is why there is so much injustice in the world.

speaking as a teacher all i can say is that this is VERY CREEPY.

Nep5 - what are you looking for in this relationship that you have with this teacher? More to the point, what is their motivation for a relationship with YOU (or any other pupil for that matter) which is beyond that of professional? There are pupils with whom i have 'bonded' more closely than others for various reasons, but i never show any sort of favouritisim/single them out for special treatment as this is unfair and UNPROFESSIONAL.

Teachers are to lots of pupils role models and mentors. it is both a privilage and a curse as we must maintain certain codes of behaviour. it doesn't matter how mature you feel, you are still a child. i don't think trying to establish or maintain a relationship with this teacher - beyond that of teacher - is either safe, healthy or productive in the long run. they should not be doing/attempting the same to you or others.

learn what you can from them; be inspired by them - leave the rest and find some people your own age to 'talk politics' with....they will exist!

Thank you for posting that, mezzoelf. It's good to hear a teacher like yourself state that it is very unprofessional for a teacher to single out or show special treatment to certain students that she might like better than others.

I think it creates a bad atmosphere in the classroom. Actually when I was a kid all the kids hated any kid who they felt was the "teachers pet." Those kids tended to be singled out by other kids and picked on.

Also very good advice that you gave to neptune5.

Just relax & go with the flow!!!

If you don't know what to think, then why say anything???

Just keep reading and learning, no one said that one has to believe and recieve everything as there own truth, to be reckoned with????
