One man died in Ft. Worth when a tornado knocked over a stack of lumber onto him. People nearby scrambled to dig him out but he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The other fatality was an Irving police officer whose car skidded off a slippery road and hit a pole.

The damage in Haltom City was on the south side along the border with Ft. Worth, city public information coordinator Fran Burns said.

"We're feeling pretty fortunate because it stayed south and didn't hit highly populated areas," Burns said. "There are homes and businesses damaged, but we won't have a complete count until Monday. I did see a home this morning with no roof and one side entirely gone."

Burns said much of the debris was from downed trees. She said city residents had fair warning of the twisters from sirens and local television alerts. In addition, the city's emergency manager had warned his staff and others earlier in the week that violent weather was expected on Friday.

A shelter had been set up for affected residents in Haltom City, but Burns said no requests for the shelter had been made, so it was closed. Local businesses saw damage as well, with one RV dealership reporting extensive damage to its vehicles. A grocery store in Haltom City was damaged and several people inside received minor injuries.

Tarrant County officials sent out search and rescue teams to make sure no residents were buried in debris around Ft. Worth and Haltom City. Aerial crews also surveyed the area. Residential damage was also reported in the city of Benbrook.

The National Weather Service said the Haltom City tornado was an EF-1 with winds of up to 110 mph.

In Ft. Worth, emergency officials said damage was reported in both residential and commercial areas but that reports were still coming in. No tally was immediately available.

The storm system brought high winds, heavy rain and baseball-sized hail to much of the north Texas area Friday night. At one point during the storm, more than 30,000 people were without power from Dallas to Austin. Power crews said service to most of those homes has been restored.

not really so fun anymore.

please pray for these people!

This is supposed to be an abnormally heavy tornado etcetera year according to the National weather bureaus.

Sweet toilet bed!

As the earth warms the air grows more moist as more water from the ocean evaporates from the heat!

More moisture coming in off the gulf means more tornados, and more hurricanes!

The earth is going to get hot and wet people.

Here's a business tip, dont' buy coastal property!!! Dont' buy low lying property thats prone to flooding. ANd especially don't buy low lying coastal property LOL
