BlueMoon.. how right you are  .. I just got back from my first drive since my surgery. I am off the pain meds, have been since Monday morning, because I am allergic to all things Codiene and Morphine related. They gave me hydrocodone (vicodin) and I took about 1/4 of the amount they wanted me to take. It took about 4 days to build up and WHAM... hives, swollen lips and tongue and that was all she wrote. Yesterday I felt much better and today I am back to the old me. What I learned from my first drive.... jeans are NOT comfortable on a still swollen abdomen (but my incision looks great and it didn't cause any issues), speed bumps and potholes should be avoided at all costs and shopping carts are a great substitute for a walker. Slow and easy... that is how I roll.. these days anyway. Solane, Thank you for your concern. I do feel pretty darn good. The lupron has always completely left my body so my shape is getting back to normal, with the exception of the still swollen surgery site. I am also feeling more energetic and social.... when I was on the hydrocodone I felt like I was in a daze and it "hurt"...meaning my body ached like crazy. But.. now I am full of pee and vinegar.. YAY!!!.. Bear has been such a wonderful support. We talk all the time and he is really there for me regardless of if I am out of or not LOL.. Solane.. how long before your abdomen fully returned to normal and the pain went away completely? I only really hurt now when I sneeze or laugh too much. Hugs.... pidaua IP: Logged |

Pid,I am so glad to hear you are feeling so well after the surgery and that you are getting back to being you! It's good to have people who love you around to help speed the process along  We await the arrival of baby bears
