These "cheesy boy-band" (Boyzone) lyrics are extremely uplifting! No matter what they tell us No matter what they do No matter what they teach us What we believe is true No matter what they call us However they attack No matter where they take us We'll find our own way back I can't deny what I believe I can't be what I'm not I know I'll love forever I know, no matter what If only tears were laughter If only night was day If only prayers were answered Then we would hear God say No matter what they tell you No matter what they do No matter what they teach you What you believe is true And I will keep you safe and strong And sheltered from the storm No matter where it's barren A dream is being born No matter who they follow No matter where they lead No matter how they judge us I'll be everyone you need No matter if the sun don't shine Or if the skies are blue No matter what the end is My life began with you I can't deny what I believe I can't be what I'm not I know, I know I know this love's forever That's all that matters now No matter what ------------------ It would be nice to evolve some sort of telethapy of the heart; empathy. A feeling, knowing inside how we are all interconnected. Empathy/ love would be a a law unto itself. I have been wondering- perhaps we are only 'Free' or have 'Free Will' in as much as we are spiritually awakened. We are like Gods in amnesia. This amnesia is the source of our soul-sickness. Perhaps it's my enigmatic nature, but the songs I tend to find the most positive are often dark and moody to others. I think it's because to me, I hear, "No matter how great the darkness, it can't put out your light." A classic example would be Cruelty by The Cruxshadows. Or, in the case of love songs, "our light" (eg, Whispers by Bella Morte). There's even an Emily Dickinson poem that works like this for me, An Awful Tempest Mashed the Air. I believe this poem saved my life as I repeated it to myself over and over again the way someone else would've prayed, and it kept reminding me that if I didn't give up and if I lived long enough, the night would end, and it did. So I consider it uplifting, though in my better times, it also serves to remind me that the bad times will come again, though also that I can survive them. As for a truly uplifting song, IMO, that does not have that morbid touch, I'll go with this, though it's not a song I listen to often: Hunting High And Low I feel the wind in my hair, And it's whispering, telling me things, Of the storm that is gathering near Full of power I'm spreading my wings Now I'm leaving my worries behind Feel the freedom of body and mind I have started my journey, I'm drifting away with the wind I go I am Hunting High and Low Diving from the sky above Looking for, more and more, once again I'm Hunting High and Low Sometimes I may win sometimes I'll lose It's just a game that I play After the storm there's a calm through the clouds shines a ray of the sun I am carried from all of my harm There is no-one that I can't outrun Now I'm leaving my worries behind Feel the freedom of body and mind I have started my journey, I'm drifting away with the wind I fly --Stratovarius, Hunting High and Low Oh, hey, their music vid, see even their music is cheerful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-4Gm6VG4O0 IP: Logged |

I don't usually like cheesy music, and I would like to record another version of this song, more melancholic sounding/ serendipity......But I think those Boyzone lyrics describe the history and destiny of the human race! ------------------ It would be nice to evolve some sort of telethapy of the heart; empathy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YygyHCRrKho (Not sure about the Western theme but I find the song very meaningful). Come ride with me, Through the veins of history, I'll show you how god, Falls asleep on the job. And how can we win, When fools can be kings, Don't waste your time, Or time will waste you, No one's gonna take me alive, The time has come to make things right, You and I must fight for our rights, You and I must fight to survive, No one's gonna take me alive, The time has come to make things right, You and I must fight for our rights, You and I must fight to survive No one's going to take me alive, The time has come to make things right, You and I must fight for our rights, You and I must fight to survive.
