ugot2 ~I hope you're not feeling bitter because no one was here (in the middle of the night USA-time) to give you the attention you demanded..... There are people who come to this forum and take, and never give anything back to the community -- perhaps that ties into the "Trust Issues" you were speaking of?? Perhaps the LL-regulars are just waiting so see if you will contribute anything interesting to the discussions. Many of us have very busy offline lives and limited time/energy to spare for people who don't share anything..... IP: Logged |

Different situation, though. You are a long time member here, and people know you. You don't show up here and post 10 threads at a time with all of them saying nothing. You're also probably not looking for information that is easily found on the internet like lyrics to a song by a pop band.IP: Logged |

Where you asking questions specifically directed to a certain moderator? Or were you posting in forums and not getting an answer? It's not a moderator's job to answer to every question posted in a thread/forum. A moderator is here to moderate ~ make sure that no one is being abusive, or posting material that is unacceptable, etc. Of course, if you are addressing a specific question, and the moderator hasn't answered, perhaps they didn't see your question, so you could always e-mail moderators, as their e-mails are posted at the top of each forum. If you have specific questions about the site, then you could always contact the webmaster. I hope this helps. IP: Logged |

Thanks Nephthys for pointing out that the moderators names at the top of the page can be clicked on to bring up their email address so that they can be emailed. Also it would get our attention if a thread was put in saying something like " Attention Moderators" instead of buried in someone else's thread or another thread titled something different. If you want our attention just ask for it in such a thread. It's impossible to read everything that is posted. Also if a person spams the boards as in this case most likely many people, including the mods won't respond to all those posts.
In all cases, no matter who it is, you aren't always going to get an immediate response as we are only volunteers and we have families, jobs and busy schedules just like everyone else. IP: Logged |

There are a handful of reasons I can think of why questions don't get answered, and I am not implying that any of the following are an issue for you *personally*. In fact, would you please bump or link some of these questions you asked that went unanswered, so perhaps we could examine *why* they went unanswered??
Topic too broad/general, leaving readers wondering what the poster specifically wanted to know. Topic too narrow or dogmatic leaving little room for different interpretations. Topic too complex. Question is unclear, or poster has trouble communicating exactly what they want to know or share(example here: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/002936.html ) Nobody has a good answer, or at least an answer they feel would be a "good" answer. Poster asks and asks and asks, bumping their own threads, leaving others feeling "pestered". Those of us who find joy and satisfaction in trying to help others -- in learning astrology or health/healing techniques, or responding to questions for Life Advice -- are not paid professionals. We help, and we give, because we have some free time and wish to share knowledge, experience, strength or hope with the poster. None of us here are *obligated* to answer anything. I can think of several people here at LL who post questions or comments solely for attention -- whether negative or positive is immaterial to them. And getting no response to a question has little to do with how many hours or posts you log at LL. Maybe people just don't want to talk about Rhode/Road Island Zala **edited** Mirandee!! You said it so well in 100 words or less while I vomited words all over the landscape IP: Logged |

I think part of the not getting responses may sometimes have to do with how a thread is titled. I don't know how many threads I skip just because I'm not interested in entering the thread in the first place. Sometimes these ones I ignore stay at the top, and make me curious enough to enter. Sometimes they don't.IP: Logged |

Well, that has to be a first for me, Zala. I will frame this and show it to my husband who is always telling me to say in 100 words of less. : IP: Logged |

Just wanted to add that a wise person once told me: "No matter what we do we will be criticized for it. If we choose not to do anything we will be criticized for that. So you may as well just be yourself, say and do as you feel." In this case moderators are being criticized for what we didn't do. Last time we were being criticized for what we did. Just the way it is. IP: Logged |

The first time I responded here today, I didn't know anything about all the spammed topics that this person had posted. I wondered what AG was referring to, so now I see them below on the topic list. What I can tell the creator of all these topics, is that this place is not to be used as a game to play and fool around by posting nonsense topics; it is a gathering place to share ideas, and support (as each forum has a description at the home page.) Yes, I know that this forum is titled "Free for all", but some of your topics are clearly you just playing around. If you would like to participate, you need to be more clear in what you want to discuss and talk about. As AG requested on one of the spammed threads, I agree that a lot of these nonsense spammed topics should be deleted; I don't have authority to do it, except at HC, otherwise I would have gladly done it already. Also, it seems that if you have the ability to find LL and register here, then you have the ability to google the Bon Jovi song that you wanted so badly; and if you say you are so limited in time, then it sure looks like you had time to post multiple topics requesting the lyrics to the song. It looks like Mystic Melody was kind enough to find it for you ~ if you have a little more patience, the knowflakes will usually respond (if your posts seem legitimate). Thanks for listening.
