If so, then either slow down enough so that we can cross or just don't slow down. DON'T slow down just enough that we don't dare cross because you can't really stop without slamming on the brakes but enough so that the traffic behind you has a chance to catch up.

I friggin' hate those drivers, and there's enough of them that I figure there's a chance that at least one of you reading this are one of them.

A word of warning: I gave SERIOUS consideration to throwing my bike in front of the last vehicle that did it. Sure, I'd be out a couple of hundred bucks, but I figure the damage to the car would be worse--and very, very satisfying.

So if you're one of those motorists, then either slow down enough so we can cross (thank you to those who do!) or keep on driving so that we can cross after you and before the next batch of cars gets there.

Ty.

And btw, use your damn turn signals, too! You know, the blinky things you had to work to get that license you don't deserve?

Whoa..

bad day, Dervish?
Not everyone who drives a car is a complete idiot.

I am sorry you have obviously had some issues with motorists lately.

More than one thing I said should've clued you in that I wasn't tarring all motorists with the same brush.

I have respect for individuals who bike, I have done so many times in my past.

Who I do not respect is those bikers who choose to ride on very unsafe roads. Roads that are trickey for cars let alone those on bicycles!

Many times in the past I have silently cursed a bicyclist on a road, but upon contemplation it is the same road, or one very likened to. A twisty, turny, country road, with little vision and NO shoulder for anybody to be doing anything on.

AND I, in my younger days, traversed some of the same roads and now look back...

Not a very good idea, I think!

These roads are often the most scenic, however, the most deadly, for sure.

O, and I DO slow for them, just wish the would choose their paths with a bit more thought sometimes.

Dervish, I think it was just the last line that got me.

There's been this big row in Portland OR about motorists vs cyclists, because of recent deaths of cyclists. The city of Portland has wicked dangerous streets for cars- its not very safe for the bikes either.

Anyways- the post reminded me of the nastiness on the Portland craigslist.

Sorry to jump, but I do empathize with your frustration.
