Topic: Ask Children: "What does love mean?"

Today I saw where A group of professional people posed this very question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?" The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. While reading this I began to wonder what my own children might answer?
So I tested the question: "What does Love Mean?"
I asked my own daughter (who's just turned 4 years old) what Love is and here was her reply:
"Shhh! let's whisper..."
(she closed her eyes as if in deep thought or prayer and wrapped her arms around me)
then whispered this to me: "Know what I wished for?" .....
(I whispered back; ...What?)
"YOU!" .......
"What did you wish for momma?"....
"that's love!!!"
So my challenge to you is to question your own children...

My 9 year old said...
WHEN YOU CARE ABOUT SOMEONE MORE THAN A FRIEND AND DO ANYTHING TO TAKE CARE OF THEM...My 7 year old said...
HAVING FUN,GIVING KISSES AND HUGGING AND SOMETIMES YOU DONT SAY IT... My 5 year old said...
IT MEANS YOU LIKE ME TO INFINITY!! This also makes me think of something my now 9 year old used to say when he was 2-3... whenever he was upset with me he would tell me he hated me... i always used to respond with "well i love you"... after sometime my son stopped saying it and when he was about 4 i told him i loved him to which he responded and "you even love me when im naughty"

I asked my son, who'll be 3 in June, "what does love mean?" He asked, "mean?" and so I replied, "yes, what is love?" He was sitting on my lap and got serious for a moment. Then he looked up at me and smiled. He gave me a big, strong hug and whispered in my ear, "You and me ... we're love."  IP: Logged |
