What are yours?I'm quitting smoking cigarettes once and for all continuing to avoid negative people (including online people) & energies that I dont feel comfortable or feel drained around; respecting myself and my feelings more. and practicing meditation and energy cleansing exercises daily. and yours? I'm going to try to do the same things I listed last year. And the year before. Quit drinking Coke. Lose weight. Do those things that I really want to do. IP: Logged |

Best of luck to you! Maybe you could replace the Coke with something like Acai Berry Juice or Coconut Water? I know they are nowhere near similar, lol but you'll get a lot of nutrients that way. I believe Coke depletes you of them. Along with coffee; something I'd like to ease up on. Maybe find a new healthy drink you like to replace the soda. Or a variety of them! Zala introduced me to Kefir and it's really good. Maybe mix it up a bit. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Thanks. Yeah, I can feel how depleting the Coke really is. I go without it for a while and if something stressful happens - I think it's like my version of cigarettes or alcohol.I suppose if I post it here and state that I'm resolving to stop drinking Coca-Cola that I can be accountable. It's in print (well, cyber-print). Coke is my only vice. It's like, what do I do then? But that's an excuse. Resolution made. I'm not even waiting until New Year's Day. Starting right now. With full Aries conviction. No, my Mars in Taurus is kicking in. No pun. Digging in - can't make that one budge. IP: Logged |

I'm actually going to resolve to devote myself to either yoga or a martial art. Which one is pending, due to time and financial considerations, I'll let you know. I've been thinking about it for the last few days so the timing of the thread is really interesting. I used to do Hapkido, but there isn't one where I live.IP: Logged |

Unless I find a reason to leave Philly again, my resolution is to get back to school and pick a definitive direction despite all of my reservations of "Well, it's not quite my 'thing'."IP: Logged |

Must. Quit. Smoking. So tired of it. Oh, and make a ton of money and find a really good relationship to be in, and also finish my second book. And then I have to make 10 more jewelry pieces, and also stop worrying so much about everything, especially money and my love life. Erm. I'll begin by quitting smoking though IP: Logged |

MVMOh, geez - smoking is a big one. Mr PA quit - cold turkey - a couple of years ago. He asked me to go out and buy him some cigarettes, I came home with nicotine patches instead - he tried one and it made him feel sick - and then he just said he was going to do quit and that was it. Capricorn resolve. You can do it. IP: Logged |

bmI don't rate your chances at sanity as very high with conjuncting LL membership. It's a bit of a quandry at times. Especially with the usual suspects. IP: Logged |

LL is the least of my problems. There's an off switch. Other people/things/situations are less easy to switch off. That's why I've given up on lists of task like: I will have a flat stomach by December, etc. At some point it will have to be abandoned whilst I focus on crisis management and maintaining my own sanity. bmUnderstood. That's why those resolutions like giving up Coke and smoking, etc, are the ones that find themselves on recurring resolution lists - they are the comfort from the insanity. That washboard stomach does have to wait while other more pressing matters waste our time. IP: Logged |

My Mars in Taurus resolve is what I need, but I'm whining way too much. Smoking patches make me have groovy dreams ... and they do work. Must try. IP: Logged |

Good luck everyone! koiflower...lol MVM, I got the nicotine gum but it's yucky. Never tried the patch, but it might make my dream journal more exciting. lol. Still, I'm going to have to use the gum. I've got a real hard time trying to cold turkey it or simply cut back. Doesnt work. IP: Logged |

MVMI have Mars in Taurus too. It has a tendency to get stuck where it is as much as forging it's way where it wants to go. Taurus is not the fastest of signs. But it gets there eventually. IP: Logged |

Is that some kind of subliminal birthday reminder for the membership here?? T ~ quote: MVM, I got the nicotine gum but it's yucky. Never tried the patch, but it might make my dream journal more exciting.
The gum is putrid, T!! Get the patch -- it works Really!! Chew regular (but not sugarless) gum, it gives your mouth something do do instead of shoving cigs in there. I went thru a lot of gum the first few weeks, but when I got used to not smoking, the gum habit went too.Good luck, everybody!! IP: Logged |

Thank you Zala! And PA! That's good to know Z. I picked up some herbal stop smoking supplement today. All set with the gum now. Between the supplement, my intense desire to just kick it once and for all and things I've been reading, I think i'm just about done. Thanks for the encouragement and best of luck to everyone! Cheers! IP: Logged |

Thanks AG Now I dont know what to believe. There's a book out there called Caffeine Blues: Wake Up To The Hidden Dangers of America's #1 Drug... that says the complete opposite. Ahh...one thing at a time. Though when i quit smoking the coffee's gone too. Cant have one without the other, as most of you smokers probably know. That would be one of my major triggers. Same as last year. Lose at least 50 pounds excess weight. For 2008 made it to a 60 pound loss of weight. ------------------ Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain. IP: Logged |
