Whoa, hold on. Computer games aren't the only things I like; I just happen to like them a lot. I derive pure joy from reading Linda Goodman's books, and also adore reading in general.

I also enjoy being a baritone in a local choir. I took horseback riding lessons for six years, but stopped because horses have much better things to do than jump over poles all the time. Even so, some of my best childhood memories come from those lessons.

I took karate lessons for a little while. They were mostly for exercise. I really loved them.

I absolutely love Prince and David Bowie. I currently own every Prince CD and 12 David Bowie CDs. My favourite David Bowie CD so far is Station to Station and my favourite Prince CD is Lovesexy.

There's a small but extremely gorgeous flower garden very near to where I live. Every spring and summer, I go there at least once for inspiration for poetry.

My number one joy in life is writing poetry.

Great music taste Spiritua! We have another singer here!

It may seem from my last few posts that I only like to play video games , but, well, here's the other stuff that I do too, taken from my website and another thread on this board:

"Judging by my birth certificate, I should be 25 years old right now. I spend my time hopping between my residences in Brooklyn and Norwich, New York. I have a six year old daughter, Theresa, who I love with all my heart.

I stand approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, or 5 foot 9 and 7/8ths if you want to be picky. I am usually 127 pounds, which means the doctors tell me I'm underweight. I barely sleep, and am known for going 2 or 3 nights clocking in only 2 or 3 hours of shut-eye. Taking care of my daughter is a full-time job, but while she's sleeping or with her grandparents I try to make good use of my time.

In my "spare time" I read. I read lots and lots of books. Right now I am reading five books, Rabbi Jesus, Soul Prints, Gooberz, Josephus and the first book in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I hop around back and forth between books when I get bored.

When I'm not reading, I work on this website and play the role of psychiatrist for my family.

When I'm not working on the website, I'm writing. I write on an average about twenty pages a day, between email and message board correspondence, diary entries and poems.

When I'm not writing, I'm listening to music. Music is one of my greatest loves, if not my greatest love. I am a disgruntled musician, who has poured her creative energy into other pursuits. Music describes my feelings for me, like no other medium can. I listen to a wide range of music, from Classical to Hardcore Metal. I have composed several songs, and some of my poetry compositions are in fact lyrics for songs I have written. I took opera lessons as a teenager (I'm a coloratura soprano) and have played the guitar and bass guitar, though I'm a little out of practice at this point. I started singing when I was two, and I started playing instruments when I was fifteen years old.

When I'm not listening to music, I'm painting. I have painted about thirty or forty paintings over the years, most of them are gone at this point in time. I give them away.

When I'm not painting, I read tarot cards for people or look up aspects in their natal charts.

When I'm not reading tarot cards, I'm gardening. In "real life" I take great pleasure in taking care of my garden. I've tended lilac bushes, hydrangea, flowering quince, rasperry bushes, rose bushes, ivy, weeping willow, apple trees, juniper bushes and a pear tree as well as a multitude of herbs, wild flowers and vegetables.

When I'm not gardening, I'm meditating in my own way. I sit by a favorite tree, with a blanket around my shoulders in chilly weather, and converse with nature. You think I'm joking.

And conversing with nature leads right back to the creative process. I take what I feel and learn with me, and try to share with people, if they would like to know."

"Thanks for asking me Sadoi what I like to do, hmm...let's see, I like to hug my daughter real tight, read to her and teach her schoolyard hand-clapping games, I like to fool around with the Casio keyboard and my Fender guitar in the basement, I love to go out with my friends in the city every once in a while and listen to live bands cover cheesy 80's music and dance around like a fool with a pint of cider in one hand and a cigarette in the other (I can't help it, I know it's bad but I like smoking), I love to run around in the rain and haven't used an umbrella since I was 10 (I'm with ya Sadoi, we'll have to skip around the block and the backyard if we're ever in the same neighborhood on a nice blustery summer afternoon), I like to work on my website when I have the time, I like to ask taxi drivers if they're having a bad day and talk to them about it if they're in a cranky mood, I like to work out on my brother's weight training system, I like to watch gymnastics, ice skating and baseball on tv, I love to cook...I really love to cook and especially bake bread...and I love wearing an apron, it should come back in style, I like talking to trees, birds, cats and my Husky/German Shepherd dog, I like reading Tarot cards, reading tea leaves, and casting runes, I like carving wood, I like carving candles with swirly designs or German chip-carving them, I like to talk with my grandpa about the olden days, I like to read about different languages and ancient cultures and traditions, I like tracing my family roots (let me know if anyone wants to do the same, I'd be more than happy to help), I like shooting darts and playing pool, I like painting pictures, I love gardening, planting strange herbs and flowers and collecting wild flowers, I love sundials and weathervanes, I like collecting Victorian clothing, parasols and fans and perfume bottles, I love the smell of pipe tobacco and the shoemaker's store, I love listening to music...and especially, talking with all you wonderful people!"

That's...pretty much most of it,

And I beat Final Fantasy X last night! Whoo-hoo!

Tomorrow I'm going to have lunch with my daughter in school, she's her class' "Outstanding Citizen" for this week. She gets to bring into school a box with some things she's picked out that are special to her so she can tell the class about them, and she gets to invite anyone she wants for lunch with her in school...and she picked me

I'm so proud of my little girl

I rented Final Fantasy X for five days a few weeks ago and didn't get too far, but really loved it. It is high on my list.

Gooberlily, I k-NOW you like RPGs, but do you like platformers like the Mario/ Mega Man games?

Your daughter has very good taste.

Thanks Spiritua, that was so sweet We had a very nice day, and I got to meet a lot of her friends in school, they're all adorable little druid pixies. I armwrestled some of the little boys at the table because they challenged me, of course they won...beat me at thumb-wrestling too I missed being in First Grade

Wow, Mario...that brings back memories. I used to love playing Mario, though I never beat the final bosses in any of the games. It's been a while since I played any of them. I look back to 1988, when my brother first got the Nintendo Entertainment System, with Duck Hunt and Super Mario Brothers...and how much games have advanced visually in the last few years. The last Mario game I played was Super Mario World (?) for the Super NES, I think. MegaMan I played years ago...

Wow, you brought me back man!

Hey fOlks

Gooberlily, I'm glad to hear things went so well with your daughter, it sounds very sweet So you're into runes huh? I've always wanted to get into them, but don't know how, any suggestions? Hey, i like victorian clothing too, those vests and ruffles are so cool, i've always wanted to have my own trenchcoat with a red vest and ruffles and all the fixins(did I forget embroidered black cuffs, hell yeah!). You certainly do keep yourself busy, dont ya goob?

I havent looked into a good photo album in years, tho I love photography itself. It's a wonderful art, and very inspiring.

My "other" interests are just school(yes, i LIKE school), hanging out with friends, having fun, and reading some good stuff(with good music of course). The bohemian lifestyle is sometimes the best, y'know

LOve

P.S. So goob, you finally mustered up enough levels to take out Sin--congratulations! Last time i played i was heading out to Macalania Temple for Yuna to deliver her "decision". Wish me luck!

Whoops, I forgot. If anyone wants to play a cool game, Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube. It has Mario, Donkey Kong, Princess Toadstool, Zelda, heck, even the Ice Climbers(an obscure Nintendo classic). Fun stuff

Peace

Donkey Kong was great! I used to have so much fun playing that as a kid. We didn't have Atari, but I had enough friends that did...

I remember Pong, Princess

My dad had some type of early game system when I was a kid...I think it was called Coleco Vision, or something similar.

I love photos too, and I'm lucky, because I'm surrounded by a lot of photographers in my family.

Nept, so far as runes go, I haven't found a definitive place to learn yet. I have a few different books on Viking and Anglo-Saxon runes, most of them are still downstate My friend Bob Oswald over in the UK makes some beautiful rune sets, he made me one using wind-fallen willow. He has some pages that are nice for reading about the making of runes and the traditions behind them:
http://www.runemaker.com

And, as far as Victorian inspired clothing goes, this is my favorite store in NYC, I've gotten several pieces from them. They do lean a bit on the dark "goth" side, but the workmanship is really good. I believe they have a big selection of men's apparel:
http://www.religioussex.com

Good luck with Sin Nept! Beef up your characters as much as you can, and have a box of Kleenex handy!

i dont really have fun as much anymore as i used to work drains a lot of my energy..

i told my boss today that i have to make my last day be before the sun enters aries

he's used to that from me so he just nodded.
i settled on march 16th finally because my friend Holly is coming to ny from tennessee for that week and i wanted to be out of work so i could hang out with her and start having fun again

the funnest thing in the world for me is to be in nature, and stuff like that. but i never really get a chance too i really hate living in the city, i'd give anything to move into the country - the main thing i do here is read. and watch my buffy and simpsons dvds

i don't like going out with people and stuff that much... there never seems like therse much to do here. everyone just goes to bars and clubs, which i hate doing.

and every time i leave the house lately i get relaly uncomfortable and feel like everyone is going to laugh at me or talk about me or make fun of me and its hard for me to face crowds.

everytime i play aroudn with the tarot cards (i dont know them well enough to do readings yet so i just say "play around") or the star cards i alawys get the hermit or 30 to represent myself.

i think 30 might be my favorite number right now.

i didn't always have these anxiety problems about this, it started a couple of years ago and then it went away for a while but it came back a few months ago.

maybe it has something to do with starting my job..
when i first started getting it it was when i came out of the closet at school and i was getting made fun of and beat up a lot. then it went away after i dropped out of school.

after i started work and everyone in the neighborhood eventually found out, its pretty common for me to be walking home and pass a group of teenagers and just hear them yell the word "faggot" while i pass by.

i dont like to blame my problems on other people and i know i can work on changing it so i dont feel that way any more but i think thats at least part of the reason i don't like leaving the house that much any more.

wow, i sure know how to turn a fun thread sour.. lol

sorry for rambling

Hi Avalon

I know we haven't met yet, so welcome to Lindaland....

I'm certainly no therapist, and I wouldn't be surpised if I'm totally *off* on this, but your post did move me in some way and I just want to say that, it seems to me you're doing some serious soul searching and thereby not leaving lots of needing or wanting of things that other people your age are doing "for fun". To me, there's a lot to be said for that. Keep up the good work.

And anyway...sometimes you are your own best company!!

Last thing - the more you learn, the stronger you grow...the better adept to handling people and life in general.

Sorry for the lecture - I honestly don't mean to impose.

Hi Avalon Leo

I hope i do not sound as if i am interfering in any sense. I am really sad to hear what you have to go (the beatings, the jokes, etc) through just because 'people' think you are 'different'! So what? Everyone is different if you want to talk about differences! I want you to know that u sound (very) OK to me!

People tend to have false impressions on many things and 'values' not based on compassion . so there they are judging other people and making life hell for them. Ok , so they laugh at u , u know then they are not worth being your friends right from the start.. but honestly i don't believe everyone is that way. U will find "true gold" friends and love ones as you progress in your life. It is not easy.. but don't stop believing in yourself. I personally feel, as long as the individual is true, ie do not harm others , be it people , animals or even insects .. whatever they are - gay or not, tall or short, skin colour etc , it doesn't matter ! They are solid good people in their hearts and worth more than diamonds! We need people like that! Then there won't be wars .. (the idealist in me speaking)

Be at peace with yourself.. !!!
And be happy..

Wishing you with all my heart and thoughts , success in your life (in all aspects)!!
