Definitely!!! I also always wonder right away about animals too; for example, we have a lot of fires around here. There was one about a week ago, and my first thought was, the poor animals, I hope they escaped and are alright!!!
You are right they should sense impending danger ahead of time

I don't have any time to watch TV so I have not been apprised of the details/extent of what has been going on in N.O. My neighbor's sister and other relatives live down there so she kind of updated us on what's been going on. And in today's newspaper on the front page there were pictures and stories.

I still hope all the animals as well as the people are okay!

Artlovesdawn,

Don't be sorry for your great, thoughtful, enlightened post!!! Don't be ridiculous!

Thanks for all of this great information!!!

Hey, btw, I have a ? Are you a guy named Art who loves a girl named Dawn, or are you Dawn, loved by Art, or are you an artist who loves the dawn? Sorry I can never figure out user names.

Anyhow ~ I did watch a Special Report last night on CBS I think and now I have been totally apprised of the situation. It is amazing. Those poor people. Which reminds me, I have to call my local Red Cross to see if I give non-perishable items if they can ship it over there. It sure makes us so grateful for everything we have!!!

Today I called my local Red Cross 3 times. The first time the line was that fast busy signal, not like a normal busy signal, but the kind that is off the hook or something.
The next 2 times I called, the phone rang and rang and no one picked up.
I really want to bring non-perishable items/supplies/clothes and beanie babies for the children/refugees affected by the Hurricane..........but I can't get in touch with the darn place!
Does anyone know if the Red Cross will send/bring supplies down there if you bring it to them?

Hello ALD ~

Hmmm I still don't quite understand but that's okay.

Well it seems everyone only wants $$ and no one can/will send clothes/goods to the Hurricane victims.

There was a small article in my local county newspaper yesterday that some famous people; Nicholas Cage, Diddy, Ted Turner, are all donating $1 million to hurricane victims. Hilary Duff is donating $250,000. And the government just passed the bill to donate $10 billion? (I forget the exact figure).

So all these people are still suffering, dying, starving, thirsting to death, where is the $$ going? This is what makes me so mad. Everywhere you turn, there are advertisements "donate here".......yeah, and how long is the $$ sitting before it goes to any use? *sigh*

So then your name is or isn't Dawn?

That's a pretty neat story and it sounds a little like you are still carrying a torch for him, maybe, perhaps? I kind of got goosebumps when I read it. I wish I had good memories of boyfriends. I rather not remember them at all, yet it seems I always dream about them. Ugh! It's interesting, though as we grow older we (at least I do) grow to be such different people than the person we were, when we were with them.

And back to our topic of the hurricane victims ~ well I really want to donate clothes, nonperishable items, and beanie babies for the children, but no one will take it. The Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Goodwill all will not send to them.....they only want $$. The $$ situation makes me so mad, yeah all these charities are raising $$ but these people get boxed astronaut food. One poor girl showed the box and said, "I want real food" or something like that. Every night now we watch CNN and Fox, etc. and it just makes us want to cry.

My own place of worship is *nature*
I know what you mean, though. I do have a Catholic church right around the corner in our neighborhood which we are members of but rarely go except for Christmas.
Thanks for doing your homework and providing the info. that we can send to those places!
Thanks for sharing your personal story, it's too bad that you guys broke up........but oftentimes it seems that things happen for a reason.
Oh, by the way, I love baby powder scent. That's a silly reason to break up with someone! Maybe girls like the scent but guys don't.
