On Tuesday a.m., it was $2.79 per gallon. Thought I'd wait for it to go down. Then in the afternoon on that very same day, it was $2.88 per gallon. Still, thought I'd wait. Yesterday, (Wed.) it was $2.94 per gallon. So this a.m., thought I better go fill up, since I only had 1/4 tank left, and just paid $2.99 per gallon!!!

So the current going rate in Marin County, Calif. at the *cheapest* gas station, is currently $2.99 per gallon on 9/1/05 at 10 a.m.

Please state where you live and your current price, date and time. Thanks!

Someone sent me this link this am;

Costco in Madison Heights mich. is cheapest at 2.88.
Most stations in the metro detroit area are 2.99 to 3.29 ish.
Sucks but I heard our governor this am say that the major pipeline from the gulf coast should open in two days. She said this is a temporary spike and to wait it out, don't panic.
9/1/05 2:40 pm.

Around here (SE Alabama) it's $2.59 on-post, $2.79+ off-post for low-grade.

My Mom in the DC area said that it's $3 or so for low-grade.

I'm looooooooooving my Civic right now

Due to a shortage, around $7.00 at some places.

Randall - I might have to call bs on that shortage. We're getting our gas from the same place that ya'll are - I've read that many places are just flat-out price gouging in your area (and may be prosecuted for it).

Yeah... I've read that too, Prox... as they should be.

It will be fun to see all these SUV fools trade in their vehicles for something they can actually afford, though.

Nothing ticks me off more than someone who drives an SUV that doesn't NEED one. Sure... you've got 500 kids and need the extra room... get a Suburban. If you're a single person sporting an SUV (uselessly), you deserve to have you checking account drained by ARCO.

Oh... and we're up to $3/per gallon now. Heard on the news it may go up to $4 in this area.

Can't we just make Saudi Arabia the 51st state, or something?

We have people being prosecuted for price gouging.

What is the story on the blackouts?

Climbing back up - we're about $2.93 a gallon right now. Man, it's so expensive! Just think if I sold my car, I'd get $$, and wouldn't have to pay insurance, nor gas. BUT I would have to take the bus everywhere which takes a long time out of my busy day, because it is so slow and makes so many stops.

Randall!

Bush is workin on it!

Not exactly sure what gas is around here right now.. I don't drive much and my hubby usually fills up our 1 car... but I think it's in the 2.60/ga vicinity for regular. The news was talking about it maybe getting to $4/ga this summer if the refineries in the gulf get hit hard again this year..
