There's a book called Feng Shui For Dummies. It's filled with all kinds of other cool stuff--like numerology.

i had Feng Shui For Dummies. i can't put my hands on it right now because i moved so many times and just moved yet again.

But i remember this wind chimes hung from 9 inches of red ribbon or chord in the furthest right corner in your house is the helpful people corner. it brings helpful people in your life

Flowing water like a fountain in front of your house brings prosperity.

And the first thing mentioned is a good solid front door. the front door to the house should be solid with no glass. they say red is the best but black or green is good also

had a book on it too...and cant find..
I do know done properly it's calculated with math for each room...the position to water fire etc... there are many generals that apply like 2door not being opposite which lets energy/chi out...and chimes warding off bad energy should be placed near outer doors and
side walks leading to house should never be straight leading to the road.
Check the web there are some good sites and one as I remember had new info daily.
Sorry can't be more help.

I read something about a mirror on the outside of your front door being lucky. Wonder what people would think of that?

i know a mirror facing outward deflects negativity back to the sender.. like picturing a circle of mirrors around yourself facing outward before starting the day

I follow feng shui. There are two ways to follow it: based upon the North-South orientation of your house or based upon the orientation of your front door. You can also set up each room by its front door orientation.

After years of trying to figure my own way out, I finally hired a feng shui consultant and discovered some pretty serious glaring errors in my analysis. The fixes were TOTALLY worth the cost!

http://www.joeyyap.com/

i know little. i know where the bed faces is important, where the stove is, main door.

square rooms are good. you may have difficulty sleeping in say a trapezoid, which is what shape my current room is now.

you can decorate any way you want. the most important is the location of the house. there's no way to remedy a bad location.

that's why some feng shui masters are wrong to give you a tiny elephant for example to change your luck. they don't want to tell you to move house. a iny buddha is cheaper.

also most feng shui masters do not agree. what i said above is not the only way. in fact many could disagree. it just makes more sense to me that's why i adopted those views. i learned most of the above from reading mr. yap's blog btw. it's somewhere in the link.

hope that helped!

I love this subject, but I just don't think there's enough interest to warrant its own Forum. I did consider it, though.
