WOW! You got some lovely sunflowers there. I love flowers. Here its raining nicely and my 'Sontakka' flowers (i don't know what they are called in English) are blooming. I will upload an image sometime. i just don't get it directly on imageshack. It only gives the link. Either that or i don't know it. Anyways, your vegetables look pretty good. What's wrong with it. The green things we make couple of dishes with. Yummy! What do you call it? And our good old beetroot. Just yesterday i had made a beetroot salad and thought of you and this thread.IP: Logged |

Thankyou. the "green thing" is kohlrabi. None of my family seems to want to eat fresh beetroot, they prefer ones you buy!

abcd efg, There`s a Southern way and a Northern way to prepare them Southern, dip sliced tomato in beaten egg& milk, dredge in corn meal , season with salt & pepper and fry in hot oil to your preference of doneness.. Northern way, dip in milk and egg and dredge in even mix of flour and bread crumbs, season well ( hot pepper if you like or any season you prefer), . Fry til crispy in hot oil. Another way ie my way is marinate in Italian dressing for a few hours. Gas or charcoal grill on medium brushing often with marinate til your doneness. I like mine charred a bit. Another way to prepare great chefs of LL??. IP: Logged |

I love kohlrabi. I pick them out of the garden, clean them on my shirt and eat them sunshine warm and raw. I planted sunflowers for my climbing peas to grow on. Looks awesome but we`ll see what the tangable results are. Your garden is just lovely and the God`s Eye is a fantastic touch. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. Thanks Juniperb! It sounds great. I will try it when my niece comes. I don't eat egg anymore. I used to love it though. Btw is it shallow fry or deep one? And yes your way sounds tempting too but i don't have a grill and idk about Italian dressing. Now i know how starfox would have felt when i dished out some Indian recipes for him on this thread. Boohoooo! (thats crying). I sail in the same boat with you on that charring thing. We make elephants foot and also fried potato slices. I love my potato vegetable and onions on the charring side in some recipes. (Not burnt) IP: Logged |
