http://oldworldgardenfarms.com/2013/07/02/how-to-grow-cure-and-store-your-own-garlic/ Good idea, as Fall begins to show up many home gardens are fallow, to plant now would be very low cost and provide a good crop next Spring. IP: Logged |

No, you break the bulbs into sections and plant those, each clove of garlic becomes a whole bulb of garlic when it sprouts in the Spring. THAT is potent and tasty infused oil, on bruschetta prior to placing in the oven it is awesome. So is Basil infused oil. IP: Logged |

It's highly volatile, dark and cool are best. I like to use it as an ear oil, very healing. As well as mullein flower.IP: Logged |

What do you mean dark or cool, Ellyn? Where you leave the garlic oil?

I normally use the shoots/upper portions for my oil rather than the bulbs as it seems more stable and has more flavor. Usually leave it in the fridge IP: Logged |

Sunlight will break it down. So you have to both store it and infuse it carefully. I did it with the pilot light when I had the right kind of stove. Most herbs I will infuse in an Eastern facing window. And yes, you do cover the herbs completely with the olive, and you shake the jar two or three times a day. In about six weeks you strain it. The garlic was a different story, I didn't have to do it very long.IP: Logged |

Ok --I put it in the cupboard. OK--if they break down, what happens? Do they go rotten? I have had garlic covered with olive oil for a while but I am afraid to use it for some reason. It has been out on the counter, not in the dark. I am so glad to have you here, Ellyn. You are a wealth of knowledge. I saw your NDE. I love to hear about these. They bring me great peace ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

My son just went through his Saturn return, so it was a long time ago. Hard to put into words anyway, the song I posted comes as close as anything I've seen. Charm nailed it down pretty well.IP: Logged |

To me, Oregano and Garlic are the two "best" bargains and the most useful basic oils to use in treatments IP: Logged |

Ok I didn't know about straining. I guess I will leave the herbs and just put in the lemon juice. If you strain, I assume you do it after a month. Right? ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Yes, very cool. You can really see the beauty of creation when you garden. It is sooo sick that Monsanto wants to mess with it. It makes me enraged!------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Yes, Ami; I hate it too. When they first started the F-1 hybrids (Seeds that grew sterile seeded plants) people started heirloom seed sharing circles. It's like a lot of issues right now, health for profit. You can't patent Willow, but you CAN patent synthetic Willow (Aspirin.)They wanted to patent and own the rights. I saw this coming and fought it around the turn of the century. We wanted GMO's labeled then. It's gotten a lot worse now. IP: Logged |

Oh, and another thing about garlic, when they plant it, it will take toxic metals out of the soil! Water Hyacinth will do the same thing with water. I'm not sure if it is absorbed and kept in the bulb or not, my Aunt just told me about the studies her husband's company were doing on it. I believe the Water Hyacinth completely diffuses it. Can be invasive in temperate climates though. It froze off where I lived, so no worries, ha! IP: Logged |

Just terrible, Ellyn. Something may have just happened to take away GMOs by the courts but it is so hard to follow all of this. It is such a crime against nature

Yes. If you make a soup with 50 cloves of garlic, you can cure even Norwalk virus, I read. ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Sorry, Ami; I just saw this. I can't remember what she said, I think it must have transmuted it, because I still have an inwardly good feeling about ingestion. Otherwise I would have this uh-uh feeling, like when you want to put a cup of coffee by the electronics. Garlic is great for your heart. It also knocks a cold right out. I just don't always have the moral fortitude to bite into that clove. Cayenne I am used to. IP: Logged |
