Greetings...

I dunno. How did you come to that conclusion? Was it based on a dream? Information channeled through meditation?

What does that phrase mean to you? It doesn't mean anything to me at first glance, but perhaps knowing how you reached that conclusion could help a bit.

Are you asking us to guess what the phrase means?

it has to do with the intertwined serpents ~~ the path of transformation...knowledge...wisdom...

that the caduceus is the magic wand of Hermes/Thoth....who also created tarot, as some claim....

quote:
The Caduceus of Hermes
The Greek Hermes found his analogue in Egypt as the ancient Wisdom god Thoth, as Taaut of the Phoenicians and in Rome as the god Mercury (all linked with a magic rod with twin snakes).

The mythical origin of his magic twin serpent caduceus is described in the story of Tiresias. Poulenc, in "Les Mamelles de Tiresias" (The Breasts of Tiresias) tells how Tiresias--the seer who was so unhelpful to Oepidus and Family- found two snakes copulating, and to separate them stuck his staff between them. Immediately he was turned into a woman, and remained so for seven years, until he was able to repeat his action, and change back to male. The transformative power in this story, strong enough to completely reverse even physical polarities of male and female, comes from the union of the two serpents, passed on by the wand. Tiresias' staff, complete with serpents, was later passed on to Hermes...

Occult Hermetic Connection: An occult description of the Caduceus of Hermes (Mercury) is that the serpents may represent positive and negative kundalini as it moves through the chakras and around the spine (the staff) to the head where it communicates with MIND by intellection, the domain of Mercury [wings].

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies

Salome got the spiritual part right

Well, what I was doing is thinking out of the box about the Tarot because I got a dream about the 78 cards of Tarot being connected to our DNA. I could not figure out how initially.

So I tried to Lexi the TAROT. Tarot's number is 4+1+2+7+4 = 18 or Spiritual Material Conflict. The single number is 9.

The positive lexis are "OAR TO ART" as in rowing towards the great work and
"A TART TO TOT" and "TROT TO ART".

Then I tried something totally new.

I had heard of renaissance cryptograms where one letter would be changed and the word jumbled.

Since Tarot and Numerology were so close, I substituted all the letters of TAROT to see if an alternate word mapped out.

Thats when I found out the hidden truth of the Tarot, that it is our personal caduceus.
[The spiral serpent very much connects to the DNA dream as well]

4 1 2 7 4
T A R O T
D I B Z D
M J K__M
__Q
__Y

Do you see it ? "MYROD" or My Rod.
The rod or wand is always a caduceus for those in the occult circles [ultimately it points to Kundalini but that is another topic altogether.]

I posted this just to check if anyone else tried out the same tricks.

hEY~ I found this. Not sre if it's all that relevant, but I wanted to share it nonetheless...

"By mapping archetypes on the Tree, one begins a process whereby images, that resonate on a rich and very personal level, rise from the depths of the Psyche providing an important tool in bridging the unconscious and conscious minds, and an integral set of symbols for this process is the Tarot. This treasure house is the medium understood by the unconscious of all people and is a means by which undifferentiated consciousnesscan project itself into the sanctuary of the mind. The Tarot, the Tree of Life and Qabalah are all part of Hermeticism. The origin of the Tarot is unknown, however, the connection between these disciplines (and also that of Alchemy) is obvious. The Tarot is the gateway of the soul and the guide to enlightenment because the continued study of Hermetics will lead to the discovery of Truth, the accomplishment of Wisdom, and the power of Freedom."

And also, after reading the above paragraph, I was spiraled to thinkin what Salome posted about Hermes/Thoth already!

Was going to post this last night but stuff came up. Dosen't surprise me though (Mercury Retro). Now there's a whole bunch of answers hehe!

HI Hexxie?
Where have you been???

Whatever Salome and you wrote makes perfect sense. Heres more to think about:

Tarot is all about divination from 78 cards, 22 major and 56 minor.

IChing is all about divination from 64 possibilities.

Does it not make sense to then map these two disciplines? One question, take the Tarot and roll the coins simultaneously. If the answers match in any way, it becomes a potent confirmation, more potent than any system on its own.

Hi IQH~ I've been around Mostly my mind has been sucking things up rather than expelling ideas out due to Mercury retro. Mercury is my chart ruler and this transit is opposed my natal Merc in Virgo!

I also got "MY ROAD" from your above Lexi when you said "MYROD".

Anyway, I trust all is well with you too! I had a really amazing spiritual gathering on Monday night (night before the lunar eclipse) and it really shook up some 'stuff' in me and brought it to the surface to be transmuted. My head is still spinning from it! It was really intense and really cool. I'm having a bit of trouble sleeping because of this, but I think it's just because i'm doing sooo much dream work that I need to take a few breaks a night (been waking up at least 3x a night since Monday). Anyways, i'll talk to you soon!

Greetings...

Interesting IQ. Have to say I never had thought to approach it that way.

What you did there in essence is a process that Qabalists call Gematria, interchanging similar words for their numerical correspondences, because in Hebrew, all the letters are also numbers. They are not separate as in our language/alphabet.

That is intriguing spirialing to be sure.

MY ROD... yes a magical wand, that acts by the force of one's WILL. And yes, the caduceus is a pictogram of the Kundalini, traveling up the course of Ida and Pingala, spiraling, in the etheric body, around what would be the spinal column in the physical body.

To quote my favorite Vulcan, "Fascinating!"

What a fantastic thread!

It always makes me smile to find yet another connection in this extraordinary existence we're all part of.

It's sparked my interest in cryptograms now also... I love this site!!!

P.S Just had a sudden realisation as I was re-reading posts - the Tarot deck has 78 cards; 7+8=15 the number of The Magician

Greetings...

Well.. that would be another misinterpretation really. The 15th Tarot card is NOT the Magician, that is actually the 1st. The 15th card is The Devil, which corresponds to the sign Capricorn.

Now that is NOT a slam of any sort... there are very positive meanings to The Devil card, including a re-minder not to take ourSelves too seriously!

Hope that helps a wee bit.

Hi Aselzion

I meant in numerological (Linda's 'Star Signs' book) terms rather than the individual numbers of the Tarot cards themselves really. But that's interesting all the same - absolutely right about taking ourselves too seriously!

Hi Cardinalgal,
Yes, 7+8= 15 is numerologically valid for Tarot. Thoth does not do dice but hides wisdom in every layer of his inventions.

78.

7 x 8 = 56.

The lower arcana has 56 cards.

5+6 = 11

The major Arcana has 22 cards and
22 = 11 x (1+1)

Thus, the major and minor arcana are intertwined.

Coming back to 78, 78 = 13 x 6.
13 is the number of he who masters the Zodiac. This indicates that to utilize the full power of the Tarot, one must thoroughly master the mysteries of all 12 signs.

6 is the number of love. Hence, this Mastery should be a labour of love than a mere power trip.

Again, come back to the inventor of Tarot, Thoth. He is also known as Hermes Trismagestus or Thrice Great.

78 divided by 3 = 29, the number of grace under pressure.

2+9 = 11, the first Master number of numerology.

2 x 9 = 18, the number of TAROT.

This possibly indicates the trials of Spiritual and Material conflict in the third dimension that Thoth may have undertaken before attaining his supremacy.

On the whole, it is quite evident that 78 is a deliberately crafted choice by a numerological architect.

Edit:
Mirror of 78 by 3 ie 87/3 is 29.
78/3 is 26 which would add to number of karma 8.

Greetings...

Cardinalgal...

If you look at Cheiro's Book of Numbers (from which Linda took all of her notes on Numerology), the pictures for the Compound numbers that he uses are taken directly from The Tarot. I think Linda just decided to use a more positive Image than The Devil for the Number 15.

IQ...

Great spiraling. You give us much to think about.

Lotus...

As happens frequently here, I am going to chide you about making snide remarks, particularly in my Forum. If you are having a bad day, perhaps you would do well to take a break and actually THINK BEFORE you post comments that you find yourself later apologizing for.

I find that my patience level for your seeming lack of tolerance for others opinions or thoughts is rapidly waning. If you are truly channeling from God Source... you would be much more tolerant of others, an all levels. Where would we ALL be without God/Goddess's unconditional Love and Infinite Sense of Humor?

Blessings...
