T O P I C R E V I E WKatI was wondering about astrological timing of finding a life partner.I have the book "when will you marry" by Rose Murray?? and there are several indicators pointing to good venus and mars timing... and other info. but I was wondering if anyone here who has already met their soulmate can tell us what astrological aspect occured when they first met their special someone.I'm really interested in people who have long term commitments longer than 8 years. Also I was wondering if they found if any indicators were accurate as to who they would be with. For instance, my 7th house is ruled by Aqua and has Saturn. Which possibly means I will marry late or someone older or have an non-traditional relationship. My 5th house is ruled by Sag --- Jupiter(ruled by Sag) is in my 9th house which means I could meet this person through travel especially foreign travel, church, workshops that I travel to attend... Aqua/11th house may indicate that this person could be a friend or will be a friend...maybe and Aquarius, or early Pisces, possibly a Saturnal but free Cap. If you were to look at your chart, is it accurate(and how) about who your life partner is? SaraiSOOOOO interesting. BUMP!SexyScorp103bump!MotorgirlI don't know if timing is involved or if it's more the place. My Descendant is in Aries and so is my Vertex. Mars which is aries's ruler is in the 9th house. It just so happens that the first (and last) time I fell in love was with an Aries whom when I decided to do volunteer teaching one summer (9th house) I met in this educational environment. He himself was a volunteer educator as well. You could say chart simply indicates that I'm likely to fall for an Aries type who I meet in places involving education. libraschoice7 This would be fascinating to look deeper into my chart and see how I would meet my soulmate, and what sign he is ------------------Sun in LibraMoon in CancerJupiter in CancerVenus in VirgoMars in CancerAscendant in Cancer"I seem to have the blind self-acceptance of the eccentric who can't conceive that his eccentricities are not clearly understood"Glaucusever since getting interested in Evolutionary Astrology and planetary nodes, I have been interested in checking out the geocentric nodes of Venus and Juno in regards to lifepartner connectionsNorth and South Nodes of Venus and their aspectsNorth and South Nodes of Juno and their aspectsEighthMoonHi Kat!Here is an excellent link to an LL thread where DarkDreamer explains the research of someone named Paul Westran. The node refers to the point at which a heavenly body crosses the extended plane of another heavenly body's orbit. All the physical heavenly bodies have nodes. Not only do the Moon and planets have nodes,so do the minor planets that include asteroids, centaurs, and kuiper belt objects. The Node Book, written by Zipporah Dobyns in 1973, has information about the nodes of the Moon, planets, and the 4 major asteroids.Jeffrey Wolf Green believes that the planetary nodes are insightful into evolutionary astrology and that the south planetary nodes can give insights into pastlives. It is thought that aspects to a planetary node is like an aspect to that planet itself. It is possible to get both geocentric and heliocentric nodes for the planets. Planetary nodes are regularly used in Heliocentric Astrology. http://www.heliocentric-astrology.com/Heliocentric_Planetary_Nodes.html Philip Sedgwick wrote a book about heliocentric astrology called SUN AT THE CENTER. The heliocentric north and south nodes of heavenly bodies are always opposite each other. That is not the case for the geocentric nodes except for the lunar nodes. The more distant, the object, the more likely they will be closely opposite of each other. Theodor Landscheidt has a great article on geocentric planetary nodes. He's the first one that started using them in Astrology. He's a scientific oriented astrologer. "The points of intersection of the Moon’s orbit and the plane of the ecliptic — the Moon’s nodes — were already taken into account in Hellenic horoscopes. Today, they are regarded as essential elements of interpretation; there is no modem ephemeris that does not list them. This should be a cause for astonishment, as the Moon’s nodes are mathematical points that, in contrast to the Sun, the Moon and the planets, are void of space-filling substance. Yet, this immaterial quality is not exceptional in astrology. Like the Moon’s nodes, the Ascendant, Midheaven and house cusps, these outstanding individual factors in interpretation, are immaterial intersection points; they can only be defined by mathematical methods. The astrological expert, applying her or his knowledge, does not even wonder that aspects between such immaterial points and material astronomical bodies are effective.""Thus, it seems paradoxical and inconsistent that the points of intersection of the ecliptic and the orbits of the planets, the geocentric nodes, were not taken into account in astrology. This is why I presented a groundbreaking paper, The Importance of Geocentric Planetary Nodes at a 1965 conference in Aalen, Germany, (Landscheidt, 1966). When I presented a workshop at the 1971 International Astrological Congress in Aalen, I again spread the news about geocentric planetary nodes. Dr. Zipporah Dobyns, who was present, was in resonance with the message. In 1972, she published her Node Book with ephemerides covering the years 1971 to 1974, computed by Mark Pottenger. My own computer program, which has been available to the public for decades, covers the period 1600 to 2100."http://www.considerations-mag.com/articles/geocentricPlanetary.htm you can calculate planetary nodes with Solar Fire and Kepleralso Jonathan Dunn's ephemeris calculates node of heavenly bodies. I definitely use it to find nodes of minor planets. I have been checking out personal name asteroid nodes in charts..especially in evolutionary astrology to check out insights into karmic, evolutionary lessons with certain people. I will post some things later. www.megadelfi.com/~jonathan/pos/ the geocentric planetary nodes can be used in synastry. I read that south geocentric planetary nodes of personal planets can be indicators of karmic pastlife connections. "Some astrological software programs like Solar Fire, v. 5, include the planetary nodes in their computations. What all of the nodes show us is the development of the Soul over time within its current cycle of experience so that the South (Lunar) or Descending (Planetary) Nodes reveal the Soul's evolution up to the beginning of this lifetime and the North (Lunar) or Ascending (Planetary) Nodes reveal the intent the Soul has for its direction in the future. The Moon represents the emotional center of one's personality, its instincts, habits, and unquestioned existential assumptions; the raw, unformed ego-state of personality that serves as one's initial selfhood until (and unless) one can grow into one's individuated Sun self. This is the realm of reaction and untested, visceral perceptions of reality. Its nodes generate emotional impressions of where the Soul has been and where it is going. Aspects between one partner's planets and the other's South Lunar Node stir up distant memories of feelings and instinct past, indicating either an actual karmic connection from a previous lifetime or something terribly reminiscent of one. The hard aspects especially produce patterns of energy and curiosity between two people, as do conjunctions by the Luminaries, by excitement-producing Mars and Uranus, and by the ultimate indicator of karmic obligation, Saturn. Aspects to the partner's North Node are not so easily felt, representing what could be should the two decide to join forces over a considerable period of time. My uses of the planetary nodes have been inspired and influenced by the brilliant pioneering work of eminent astrologer, Jeffrey Wolf Green. Strong aspects, especially tight conjunctions, oppositions, and squares, of one partner's planets and/or angles to the Descending Nodes of the other's personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) are significant indicators of soul mate connection and likely involvement in previous lifetimes. The actual pre-incarnate contact between the two parties strengthens the experience of soulfulness in the relationship exactly because the source of that contact lies outside one's current bodily perimeters. This works in much the same way that meeting an old and close high school friend after an absence of some twenty or thirty years evokes not only the feelings and memories associated with those years together but also an enhanced sense of life's meaning in general through comparison of where we were then and where we are now. These contacts put us in touch with a deeper dimension of life than we could experience within either of those points in time by themselves."www.synastry.us/soulmate_indicators.asp My girlfriend's South Venus Node conjuncts my Mars with 20 minutes of arc,and my South Mars Node oppose her Venus with 29 minutes of arc. That could indicate karmic pastlife as lovers. Here is something from Zipporah Dobyn's book, The Node Book. The geocentric north and south nodes of the inner planets, Mercury andVenus, may appear in any zodiacal sign. The nodes of Mercury can rangefrom a conjunction when they are lined up with the Sun twice a year at17 degrees of Taurus and Scorpio, on the north and south heliocentricnodes, to a maximum separation of about 45 degrees. The Venus Nodessimilarly line up with the Sun at 16 degrees of Gemini andSagittarius,on the heliocentric positions, and their maximumseparation is about a quintile of 72 degrees. The geocentric nodes ofMars range from about 7 Aries to 2 Cancer for the north node and about8 Libra to 29 Sagittarius for the south node. As the distance from theSun increases, the viewpoints of Sun and Earth converge so that thegeocentric nodes remain within smaller arcs until with Pluto, there islittle difference between the geocentric and the heliocentricpositions. I found Zipporah Dobyns Node Book very informative and insightful http://www.astrology-books.com/store/dobyns_zipporah.html I feel that as astrologers, we should know about the astronomical points That's why astronomy is taught to astrology students at Kepler College.Glaucusaccording to Zipporah Dobyns Node book"Testing so far has been focused on the natal positions of the nodes, watching for ways in which they indicate personality factors, but evidence is accumulating to support the value of progressed aspects, and transits touching natal nodes, and of progressed positions of the nodes.
