While it is true of course, that the wedding chart indicates the "relationship" and thus Venus might indicate the sharing of romantic feelings, Mars how you act, it also seems to me that surprisingly often the gender planets actually will tilt a little more to the partner of that gender.
Meaning Venus (and Moon) most often will tilted a little more to the woman, while Mars and Sun, too, often are more indicative of the man. Of course there might be exceptions to this.
(and I rejected that notion for years, being all about Aqua-equality and such, but it just comes up again and again)Also it seems to me that if a planet is tightly conjoined (maybe even just exactly aspecting) a personal planet in a chart, that partner might give most expression to the quality.
Again, exceptions are very possible.
Here in the case of my parents
Moon is in Cancer conjunct my Mum`s ASC, and in fact she has exhibted most of the Cancer-traits in the marriage. You can see it is conjunct Saturn here, and she did a lot of structuring (to that day it feels), which is in stark contradiction to her need for independence and being appreciated and valued for her independence as well, too.
Which might be reminiscent of that Aries-Venus (she has quite a fierce temper, though most of the time it comes out more according to her brooding Scorpio-Sun, not quite Aries-typical, unless a fuse is smoldering than she can be very Aries - temperamental - interestingly my IC is in Aries, so that would have been part of my surrounding as a child. Family home)
This Venus as you can see is conjunct Chiron exact and opposing Uranus.
While that once more emphasizes her Uranian streak and her pull to Uranians (married an Aqua after all!) it also shows that there is a wound inherent in her, something that needed to be healed. Which is very true, even though undiagnosed, she`s been suffering from a bit of a depression, at least partially, which is probably due to her own experiences in life, which was a combination of any kind of security taken away from her in a young age and at the same times the demand put on her to take over a lot of responsibility and PROVIDE security for others.
It seems to be really indicated not only in her natal chart, but you can see it in the placements of the Cancer-Moon conjunct Saturn and the Aries-Venus conjunct Chiron and opposite Uranus here, too.
As for my DAd, it is maybe not that obvious. Mars in Cancer, well he is not an outwardly very emotional man, but family is his no 1 priority, and while he has strong intellectual capacities and working in such a field, he finds also immense joy in working in the house, and especially like working in the garden or creating art from wood. Which is a more recent development, following a documentary we saw of Atlantis, and it was like some "memory" ignited in him. lol
Anyway he has always been nurturing in a very practical way, and is extremely emotional when it comes to my Mom.
Sun in Gemini here interestingly trines his own Sun exact.
I wouldnīt count the opposition to Neptune with this large orb anymore, also because it has never been eveident either in his personality nor in the relationship itself.
Surprisingly I just noticed that the PoF in marriage/first meeting charts seem to be closely conjoined to "something" and is pretty determing (maybe also because it really highlights the interrelation between Sun, Moon and ASC and thus combines the primary triad?)
Here it is conjoined with Valentine - which seems true, a point of joy and fulfillment seems to be the sharing of that romantic vibration to them.
The midpoints within that marriage chart illuminate the picture even further
Sun conjunct Jupiter/ASC 0°09
which is just such a positive beautiful picture, I would not need to look any further. lol
It certainly reflects the positive outlook and cheerfulness my Dad exhibits, but more than this it is something that the marriage itself exhibits.
SUN TO MIDPOINT JUPITER/ASC
The capacity to enjoy pleasant and congenial company, the desire to create a
beautiful home.
Moon conjunct Mercury/Mars 0°38
(yes, my Mom has a sharp tongue and a avery acute mind and wit, and part of their expression of their emotional connection is that teasing-behaviour, you most often hear on the playground in school. lol)
They don`t mince words, especially my Mom doesn`t. My Dad sometimes does, or well postpones the expression of his thoughts onto a later moment, when he is calmer about it. Unless it is about philosophical things, they can debate about these for hours, days sometimes. lol
Mercury square Moon/Neptune 0°00
MERCURY TO MIDPOINT MOON/NEPTUNE
Control of inner vision by intelligence and common sense. Fantasy, imagination, artistic talents
Well, sometimes, especially in verbal exchange, they do tend to misunderstand each other, it`s not often and it gets always cleared up (see the midpoint picture above with Moon=Mercury/Mars you donīt let things boil under the surface for long! and not with the next picture either)
Mercury = Uranus/ASC 0°09
MERCURY TO MIDPOINT URANUS/ASC
Nervous planning; fault-finding, the tendency to interfere into
everything; ability to sum up conditions or circumstances quickly;
organising ability. Sudden news; technological or industrial
progress.
Well, they can organize greatly together. But there usually is a lot of discussion beforehand. and just a strange thing but electric devices tend to stop working or explode in the household.
Heck recently even the can we keep our coffee in exploded! Twice! I mean two cans of that series, no clue how that could happen. lol
But we constantly have to exchange lightbulbs and other electric devices, sometimes feels like the energy is too much for those. lol
Venus = Mercury/ASC 0°05
(you can see how much of their relationship rests on their ability and lust for communication )
VENUS TO MIDPOINT MERCURY/ASC
The disclosure of one's personal feelings to one's intimate circle,
expression of feelings about love, intimacy, and the arts.Exchange of thoughts about love. To find friendly thinking.
(they are enjoying theatre, art, reading, cultural trips and such things a lot, too)
Well I am their daughter, and it shows I guess
Mars conjunct Pluto/MC 0°10
Well, my Dad (as the male part) was very successful in his job, up to a degree. He was excerting quite a big influence, though he refused all offers to gain MORE power and influence. He was offered some diplomatic and political functions, that he refused (which was of course detrimental to the latter part of his career, but it was his choice to stay his own "ethic course")
It also shows, I believe, that as a couple they excert a great influence on their surroundings, very evident in the positions they had/ have in a charity organizations and that people always look for them to have all the answers.
Mars square Node/ASC 0°13
MARS TO MIDPOINT NODE/ASC
Working for the common good; the doer .
ASC conjunct Moon/Pluto 0°23
I think this shows the rather intense emotional connection to each other they exhibit
ASC opposite (DESC conj.) Venus/Node 0°22
I think this shows that their marriage was to be a love marriage.
ASC square Uranus/Node 0°44
and a pretty unusual at that
MC opposite Neptune/PLuto 0°49
well IC falling onto the "supernatural midpoint". Interesting.
Ebertin interpretes it as
"an intensified and purified soul-life"
Well almost like the very worldly visible aim or destination of their marriage contains quite a transcendental vibe, maybe working for the collective. Which they do of course.
Jupiter square Neptune/Node 0°58
Jupiter opposite Mercury/Neptune 0°45
The midpoint-astrologers donīt like Neptune (they always associate it with weakness, dissolution, dishonesty or fantasy and delusion and so on).
in this case however with the combination with Jupiter, Mercury and Node, Ithink it rather shows a highly idealistic picture, maybe asking too much of each other`s "moral code". but ultimately reflecting their compassionate view on people,c onnections and interrelations with others. Which often leads to some feeling of disappointment, because honestly, most other people are more selfish than they are.
Saturn square Venus/Jupiter 0°10
The other planet that gets a real bad rap in midpoint astrology is Saturn, however I think this is actually helpful to them as it introduces a groundedness and realism to their romantic idealism and enthusiasm, and probably also helps with the idealism projected onto other people.
Though yes, I guess sometimes it might feel like a wet blanket.
Saturn opposite Jupiter/Uranus 0°56
SATURN TO MIDPOINT JUPITER/URANUS
The introduction of patience and practicality to boundless
self-projection; temperance over excess. The occurrence of sudden obstacles before the attainment of an objective,
Uranus opposite Sun/Jupiter 0°25
And that would be one heightening the enjoyment once more.
lol
Pluto opposite Venus/Jupiter 0°42
PLUTO TO MIDPOINT VENUS/JUPITER
The enjoyment of an unusually large measure of popularity, the ability
to gain favour with the masses, a state of great happiness.
Pluto square Jupiter/Uranus 0°24
PLUTO TO MIDPOINT JUPITER/URANUS
An unusual striving for knowledge and understanding, a strong
awareness of purpose in life, a far-seeing creative activity. Tremendous
drive to success; publicity;
BTW the Saturn-Pluto-square in their marriage chart definitely made itself felt in terms of external circumstances mostly, and it was not easy, but maybe it falling onto the "sudden luck and sudden relief" midpoint (Jupiter/Urans) was helpful in the end.
Pluto conjunct Mars/Node 0°46
PLUTO TO MIDPOINT MARS/NODE
Record joint achievements
Node opposite Sun/Moon 0°39
It is certainly quite interesting and encouraging to see the "purpose" aligned with the Sun/Moon-mp, though it might be a karmic/ past thing, too, with the Sun/Moon-mp falling onto the SN actually.
NODE TO MIDPOINT SUN/MOON
Getting along well with others, possibility fateful contact.
Actually this midpoint-profile of their marriage chart is unusually positive (usually you get a lot more "gloomy" ones). But then again they have been married for 41 years so far and still in love with each other, so I guess it must work. lol
