Apparently this lifetime, I'm suppose to come away from partnerships/relying on others and become more independent, self-centered and assured.

Is it hard to do that? HECK YA! Especially since I'm a libra sun, moon, mars..venus in scorp along with ascendant.

Terribly difficult.

I'm always bending backwards for people that I care and love....and relationships are TOO important to me. But I need to learn to step away from that..I wish I had more detached aspects in natal!! lol

How old are you?
The NN is not getting reachable until you hit your late 30s IMO. You need to learn the lessons of your SN first in order for the road to the NN to open.
Keep doing your Scorpio SN thing. It *is* taking you to your NN.
With the nodes, it is not Either Or. The SN is the road that leads to your NN. So, keep on being YOU. That's the only way to reach your NN.

The only thing you sould avoid your -whole- life at south node, but everybody needs a little rest at SN when things get stressing.

Egg: My norh node is in cap 5th house, so SN is in cancer 11th. At first I fought "OGM I HAVE TO LEAVE MY FAMILY AND STOP HAVING FRIENDS!! I CAN'T USE INTERNET NO MORE!!"

But It's not like this. I shoud yes follow my NN but not forget my SN!

I went through a period of a couple of years where I was very wrapped up in work. (Capricorn South Node - where I felt most comfortable) My job took up a lot of my energy and emotional bandwidth. I got laid off from that job and it was pretty traumatic, but ultimately a good thing, because I do feel better as I move toward a better work/personal balance.

Starry~* - I find that I end up helping people who dont have my best interest at heart! I find that really annoying about myself! its like im trying to help them be a better person... but only person who can change themselves are themselves! Maybe the most important relationships you have will Teach you how to be indepenent, maybe thats how your NN/SN should be utilised?

Capriquarius - Does the square provide you with the energy to overcome the negativity? I heard thats what squares are about?

RegardesPlatero - Thanks for the link, and helpful notes.. glad to see how you have made the best of this by being aware of your SN/NN!

Amphitrite - there is a guy I know who has moon in cancer in 12th house. He is very attached to his surroundings.. what he feels familiar too, he likes places that remind him of home and comfort, and he likes to listen to deep music, likes art, likes his 'own' time. I dont know maybe that is something you can look into? Im not saying become a loner!.. just maybe have a look into those things I mentioned?

lu_pirate - Thanks for that.. I did used to feel bad, i think that i must have been a really bad person in my past life or something, thats why im trying so hard to stop reaching to my SN. But I see now its not such a bad thing! Thank you!

I really liked this.

My NN is in Taurus, SN in Scorpio...depending on which system I use, it is either 8th/2nd house or 7th cusp/1st.

I find it to be challenging, but I'm finally learning to enjoy the process. I read somewhere that sometimes you find yourself around others who are 'more like' your NN node to and that subconsciously it really encourages you. But I agree you only get to one by really being present and working through the other.

But then again, to be fair, in vedic astrology, I'm a Scorpio--5 planets strong, lol. In any case, I am very much working through the SN, but I am finally to the point that I feel like I'm actually moving upward, but it just happens naturally, I think. Like last year, certain things just hit me. I found myself dealing with a situation and I said aloud:

"I cannot continue this. I cannot accept this. Something has to change."

And believe it or not, it started. Complicated situations, drama...etc, it all literally dissolved before my eyes.

As you focus on being the best you can be, growing and learning all you can about this experience, I feel it just happens. You get to that place where the evolution is just necessary, inevitable and unavoidable--life will take you there!

So, yes I have Aries NN in the First along with Aries Asc and my 12th house Pisces sun being in the cusp of Aries.

That leaves my Libra SN in my Seventh house which has a Libra cusp and Libra Vertex.
Independence instead of caring about relationships= difficult!!

This is made more difficult by my aforementioned sun (and merc) in 12th, my moon in scorp conj pluto and part of fortune in the Seventh, and cancer on the 4th and 5th! Oy..

What I do (venus in aqua speaking?..) is read my chart in ways that the opposing energies can work together -I really do believe we can have it all in life and I believe that each individual has the ability to do this with their particular energies. So, essentially, there are billions of these 'keys' all over the world to a perfect life! ^.^

Ok so an example: If I focus on becoming more focused on myself (Aries NN) while REMEMBERING THE PAST LESSONS OF MY SN (co-operation, balance, diplomacy, partnerships, etc.) then I will become a balanced and complete individual in and of myself. This will then make me strong enough to meet half way between the bridge of aries-libra opposition -and allow me to be a true and complete partner in relationships by having a strong and complete person to share in them.

I think that one must NEVER give up or omit the lessons or traits of the SN, nor belittle them. These took at least one precious lifetime to learn! We have to share the wisdom of the SN with the NN and support the NN in it's growth until the NN can turn around and just as equally share with the SN.

I find my life vehementally forces me to my NN -but I am always protected by that wonderful Jupiter there! And the fact that I believe the Universe conspires to help us :-)
