I had a longer post in my head, all ready to write, but I'm trying to get over a cold, and need to get back to my quilt, little heater and movie (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?). I was all snuggled in, but the characters and the astrology kept coming back into my mind.

I was struck by the movie coming out just after the Sun moves into Aries. We also have Uranus square Pluto going on, and Pluto in Capricorn is something that some have compared to greedy corporations being brought down. The book itself was published in 2008, and the author said that she came up with the idea after flipping between images of the war in Iraq, and reality shows. I think that was just after Uranus moved into Pisces, and Pluto was still in Sagittarius - Saturn in Cancer or Leo (later on). I can see Saturn in Cancer in responsibility to loved ones and in Leo, punishment being delivered via the horror-filled "games" shown all over the districts and the Capitol.

I'm feeling a little woozy now. Did anyone else read the books? What do you think about their own signs/traits? Katniss knew how to put on a show, and most of the time, mask her own feelings. Prim was gentle, and adored by everyone. Peeta was kind and also liked by everyone.

The author plagiarised off a Japanese movie (or was it a book?) and the book has too many similarities for things to be a 'coincidence' so it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Really? I heard similar things about the Twilight books.

I was asking for people who liked the books, though. :/ I thought the timing was interesting astrologically. I haven't read the other books, and wanted to talk about them with anyone who liked them - if they're out there. I know they are on other sites.

So, what about the astrology and these other books then? I'm curious.

I mean, Twilight is Twilight and just bad in every possible way, though I don't think it's a straight rip from anything I've read/seen before. Even the vampires in it have different powers and things from other vampires.

Hunger Games is pretty much Battle Royale, although if you read it as a series, instead of just reading the first book, it's way different from Battle Royale.

Saw the movie tonight. It was okay, but would have been a lot better in the form of a mini-series - like a lot of books.

Katniss is played by a Sagittarian, but the character didn't strike me as one, in the books or the movie. I can't remember if they gave birth dates in the books - I don't think they did.

*edit. Thanks amowls. I looked up the book, but only found the manga (?) comic that people said to avoid.

I'm losing that good feeling from having been out for the night - quickly glued to the computer.

I loved the books and the movie was spectacular!!!!! The concept of The Hunger Games is indeed really similar to Battle Royale, what with throwing kids in a death match, but The Hunger Games goes further with the characters overthrowing those who impose the hunger games.

Katniss was stated to be born on the eighth of May. Prim was also born in May, but later, no date given, so I'm thinking Gemini. No other dates or months were stated.

Really? They had her down as a Sadge before! I'm pretty sure... unless it was another girl who was up for the role.

I really like this girl: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2225369/bio#quotes

quote:
I don't really diet or anything. I'm miserable when I'm dieting and I like the way I look. I'm really sick of all these actresses looking like birds... I'd rather look a little chubby on camera and look like a person in real life, than look great on screen and look like a scarecrow in real life.

And this:

quote:
I like when things are hard; I'm very competitive. If something seems difficult or impossible, it interests me.

When I was watching the movie, I wondered when it fell out of favour to be competitive, and really good at something. I was never so competitive that I would hurt someone - it wasn't a big deal to me to be the absolute best - but I liked doing well. I liked working hard at something, and achieving something. I was disappointed with the movie in ways (just as with any movie made from a book, it felt too rushed, and not really desperate enough), but it did inspire me in that way. Sun conjunct Uranus in Aries.

I read the first book out of the trilogy from Suzanne Collins of the Hunger Games & watched the movie. I know most of life has people who plagirize but nothings perfect and if you're not going to do anything about it, shut up and enjoy the story.
From my own experience I have never heard of anything like it and I'm okay with it.

To me, I would sterotype the book personalities as:

katniss wetherdeen = cancer

peeta = a leo

gale = sagittarius or aquarius(especially in the movie. he didn't look sad at all!)

prim = a pisces

mother = weak libra

father = scorpio

cinna = taurus

cato = aries

thresh = scorpio

foxface = scorpio mars, def. lol

haymitch = pisces neptunian mentor falling under substance abuse haah sad..

rue = capricorn /virgo

I'd say Katniss is a Cap or Virgo. She gets sh*t done. Peeta is a Sag... Especially the part where he says "I want to die on my own terms."

EDIT! Jegus, I looked at his actor's birth chart, no time of course, and he is Taurus Sun, Cancer Moon, Aries Mercury, and Taurus Venus. All of those planets are opposite my planets!

All I know is, I just saw the movie (friend asked me to go), and now I feel quite depressed. I knew I would not feel well if I saw it, I read the plot beforehand. It's a very good movie. Expertly done with a fantastic plot, and wonderful actors.

Just, I am far too sensitive for my own good and this movie struck a deep cord with me in a way I do not like at all. I honestly want to cry, but I don't think I am going to be able to cross that threshold.

There's a reason I avoid watching most movies. Here's to hoping I don't just bottle this up...
