Every 12 years, Jupiter comes back to meet your natal Jupiter. "Many Happy Returns!" we wish others, and Jupiter's return is usually a lucky year. The abundance flows and you seem to be in the right place, at the right time....often.

It's also a wake-up call, if your heart is not in what you're doing. If you're uninspired during Jupiter's return, it's possibly time to make big changes....

See more: http://astrology.about.com/od/thebirthchart/qt/Jupiter-Return.htm

How was your Jupiter Return? How did it effect you? What are your Jupiter placements?

HAHA, I LOVE ASTROLOGY. It is interesting that our first JUPITER return is around the age of 12 and that is when humans abstract thinking skills kick in and start to develop! We start looking at the big picture and start practicing thinking ahead and planning ahead before then, our parents did that for us in part because our brains are not developed enough yet to engage in such mental tasks.

So far I have two Jupiter returns:

FIRST RETURN: I suppose it was around this time I became interested in astrology, psychology as well as boys. I am a therapist working towards obtaining my License.

SECOND RETURN: I finished my Bachelor's degree majoring in psychology and very quickly after found work in my field marking the start of my career and my first bachelor entry level paying job. That year I moved out of my parents house and moved in to my own place, it was my first time being on my own. Further I moved in with my boyfriend and that was my first time living with a guy as well. It was a year full of changes and milestones and a lot of planning for more exciting changes that followed within a year or two.

I have Jupiter conjunct Uranus exact in the 12th inconjunct Juno in the 5th. Jupiter rules my AC and Uranus my 3rd house and it semisextiles Saturn.

I am looking forward to my next Jupiter Return at age 36, probably that year I will finally be ready to have a baby perhaps.

36? My husband left me. Hmmmm. But I did meet a generous benefactor who is still my biggest patron and one of, if not the very best friend I have.
I guess I'll wait around for 48 to see what it brings!

Well maybe your husband leaving you is a blessing in disguise as one door has to close for possibly something even better to come in so maybe Jupiter has something in store for you, it would be wild if your now best friend ends up turning into more or you meet the real love of your life through him.

It could be that your relationship with your ex husband was karmic and Jupiter released you from that karma and set you free, that is another way that Jupiter can play a role. Or maybe that loss was necessary to expand your consciousness and achieve the personal growth you are meant to achieve in this life.

I feel confident that if that break up happened during a Jupiter Return that there is a good reason for it and its a blessing in disguise, something is in the works whether you realize it or not.

What are your Jupiter aspects and placements? Hope my feedback was useful.

48... My Jupiter return happened just weeks before Saturn hit my ascendant. I went through 3 kinds of hell that year...

This year Jupiter in the 10th and Jupiter conjunct Moon were kind of a bust too...

Jupiter has a bit more to prove in my book.

Well you just mentioned that had saturn hit your AC so I suppose we have to look at your natal jupiter and saturn aspects to understand your jupiter return.

Jupiter is my chart ruler and natally it conjuncts Uranus exact which semisextiles my saturn and inconjuncts my Juno in the 5th so that perhaps sets the tone of the Returns and how it will be like.

My Jupiter return literally just ended when Jupiter moved into Virgo.

Interestingly enough, even though my natal Jupiter is at the start of Leo (literally zero degrees), my "luck" didn't kick in until recently and only in my career (more hours, more income).

In other words, I expected all of the luck/fortune.etc. last July/August but it just kicked in.

But Jupiter just moved into my sun sign so... ???

If you guys read the article it suggests you have to be align to your soul's calling to really benefit from a Jupiter return and know how to use to law of attraction..

If you are not working towards your soul calling and just getting by I would think that the Returns would be difficult bc it will not reward your efforts but bring obstacles to you..so reevaluate your goals I suppose.

I'm also in the midst of some rough transits: Neptune opposing my Venus & Mercury and squaring my Moon/Mars, Saturn transiting my natal Pluto in Scorpio/10th house...

I've been unemployed for a year now. I just applied for forbearance for my student loans. My family seems to just keep getting more and more ill, while my health is going down the toilet too. And I'm trying to build a new career from the bottom up in the middle of all of this...

The only thing positive that happened is that my parents moved to a larger, much nicer house this year. I helped them do that, financially speaking, but now I'm broke.

If Jupiter had thrown me an ounce of luck this year, I think I would have noticed...

Perhaps that new career you are trying to build up from bottom up is Jupiter's gift, maybe you are shifting to a career that is aligned with your calling and Jupiter does reward that so hang in there!

The year of my last Jupiter return was one of the worst of my life.

Jupiter conjunct DSC (1 deg), conjunct Chiron (6 deg), opposite ASC, Saturn, Neptune (1 deg), opposite Uranus (7deg), square moon (4 deg).

Transit Pluto was conjunct ASC, Saturn, Neptune, opposite Jupiter that year as well, and transit Uranus was square them all.

Your luckiest year? No, not necessarily.

The notion supposes that the transit of Jupiter to the natal Jupiter point is somehow a doubling effect of Jupiter for you. No.

This transit averages maybe 4 months, just not enough time to promise the building of events that could make for this. (5* orb applying & separating = 10* total, or 1/3 of the annual arc Jupiter covers = 4 months).

Not bad suggestions from the author of the linked article, because luck and growth are created. Better than some of the blanket interpretations she starts with.

I will be having my 3rd Jupiter return nearing the end of this month into next month. I am not sure what to think of it, because I've been having such a hard time lately. My 2nd Jupiter Return (24 y/o) I got married and moved to another country (the marriage ended in '09). It was a scary but enriching time for me.

I wonder what will happen this Jupiter Return, I think around the time it begins it will be in my 8th house.

Yes thank you! She does start with blanket statements probably to get the readers attention but then she goes deeper and elaborates. People need to read the entire article not just what I copy and pasted to get the full concept. I think you read the whole thing; I do agree that luck and growth are created.

I kept the title bc is catchy but I knew it was not as simple as the title is implying, I was hoping people would read the whole article.

To be fair I should add more information on this from multiple sources to get more out of it.

This is also a good way to look at Jupiter returns:

"What do we look for in the Jupiter cycle? In essence, the start of each cycle represents the opening out of a whole new learning period, whose archetypal purpose is to expose us to new experience and new learning, and to all kinds of travelling within both inner and outer life."

Real Life Examples:

"These experiences vary hugely from one person to another, taking their flavour from the zodiacal sign and house in which Jupiter was located at birth.

At 23/24 (Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 9th house), you might take off to Australia to do a postgraduate Diploma in Adult Education. Your friend (Jupiter in Capricorn in the 6th house) might not travel anywhere, but concentrate on mastering a new skill like carpentry, which enables him, after a few years’ apprenticeship, to set up his own business. In the meantime, my neighbour down the street (Jupiter in Cancer in the 5th house) might marry at 23/24 and have three children in rapid succession before the age of 30. In a real-life example, Alexa said: “My second Jupiter return, at age 24. coincided with me buying a house. Natal Jupiter was in Cancer, which is appropriate, of course, and the house was bigger (Jupiter) than we needed for just the two of us, so we could have space for lodgers.”

These are very different branches of experience based on Jupiter being in different signs and houses of the zodiac at birth, but they have the same underlying principle of expansion, and the growth of experience, understanding, and (hopefully!) some wisdom shines through them all."

I guess this illustrates better what I mean about looking at the natal placements as that will flavor and influence how your returns will play out..

BTW it happens every 12 years so go back to when you are 12, 24, 36 etc..Has it been bad for you every time?

Jupiter (Tau/7th) is one arm of a T square opposed Neptune (Sco/1st, Rx) and square Moon (Leo/10th).

Saturn (Pis/4th, sRx) Trines Asc(Sco) and Venus/NN (Can/9th, Rx) It also is one arm of a T square opposite Uranus(Vir/10th) and Pluto (Vir/11th) and square Mercury and the Vertex (Gem/8th).

All orb 3° or less except for 5° for the Sat/Asc trine and 6° Sat/Plu opp.

12 was rough, 24 was neutral but change, 36 was at least good career wise.

I have to agree with Kannon. This is subjective for everyone. My jupiter opposes my moon. The literal WORST times of my life happened on both of my Jupiter returns, both of them extremely painful.

As much as I love Jupiter's energy, I'm not looking forward to the next return. I'd much rather have Jupiter trine my Saturn.

Maybe your Jupiter return activates a painful Yod or your dejanira..transits that oppose my dejanira are tough..I did mention several times that your natal placements will flavor the return early in the thread.

I think if Jupiter was to giveaway gift, one would know. We don't have to scratch our head to figure out if the tree trunk that landed on the front yard is a blessing in disguise or not. lol

When I was 12, my parents got divorced. You could say that was a blessing in disguise because eventually I run away from home to escape from a broken parents. I don't think so. Jupiter is nothing but trouble to me.

Mine was crappy, as it coincided with my current Pluto square natal sun transit. But it was a wake up call for me. I realized how abusive and terrible my marriage actually was and I ended up leaving him.
