I really love that hair!! Unfortunately I have to bleach the crap out of it to get that colour, and I don't like bleach! I swear it kills brain cells.

On youtube and pinterest there are countless people that do transform on whims but some just adopt that one look that they vibe strongly with As you say Drastically. I'm a Sun Aqua, my best friend in HS (Sun Libra) wore every color of hair and a funky mowhawk (this was 80s .. not so common) She would come to school every other week bored, needing go switch her color until one day. Boom, she settled with black. No other vibrant shades. She had done it all!
Til this day, I envy her adventure in transmutation of her appearances. Gutsy girl she was.

I had shoulder length hair this past end of May, and then decided to shave my head. I had had fairly long hair for a couple years before shaving.

The night before I shaved it off, my partner asked (...insisted) if she would braid it for some reason. (She didn't want me to shave it, as she likes long hair in general and really liked my hair).

When I was about 16 I drastically changed my look while I was living abroad. So much so that when I came back, some of my former classmates hardly recognised me. At the time pluto was transiting my 5th house. No major transits to my ascendant or venus at the time that could explain the transformation otherwise.

Ikr! And this kinda colour doesn't last long. I did pink ombre before and it lasted only a couple of weeks 😟... but the colour was so nice!

insecurity can also come with not taking care of your appearance "why bother i'm not attractive anyway" type of mindset

body language and so on count here

ive seen plenty of insecure people let themselves go and not bother and plenty of confident people take care of themselves

there's levels

that being said the guy is older and has never been with anyone so you know... possible there's something to it and that might help

grooming, exercise etc can be about yourself too not just other people but even if it is about others on some level for someone well... so?

whether you like it or not appearance and how we present ourselves matters and affects our lives, just part of human nature

If the guy hasn't been with someone and he is happy and doesn't care then he is confident and independent.

If he's said he's lonely and looking for someone then that's a different story.

The job interview scenario whouldn't apply in this is example, that's just common sense.

People who do have low self esteem would try to a find a way to make them feel better about themselves looks included and try to impress people which is connected to lack of confidence.

That might be why you can't reason what i'm saying.

I don't care about what people think about me, I dress presentable but I'm not in debt trying to look like everyone else and impress people.

I'm actually doing great and feel confident i'm handling much better dealing with the COVID pandemic then most why do I have to try to impress people? There in a much worse shape then I am.

I don't tell people that because it will make me look arrogant and i'm not looking for approval nor am I that way.

In my experience its the opposite, people who try to impress people are the ones that are pretentious because there trying to seek approval from people.

He only got a new car after his daughter told him his current car was embarrassing, up to that point he didn't even care.

he's lonely and looking for someone, he regularly posts asking about his love life and says he has no luck and women are uninterested in him etc

so when i said that to him i was suggesting that maybe it would help his situation if he tried a little (not make his whole life about it but maybe something there is lacking due to his lack of care, without seeing him i cant judge but i know he is unhappy because he says it regularly and this may help) because i don't know the degree to which he doesn't care

that's why i said "maybe" in the first place, because i wasn't assuming and i can't possibly know for sure, it was only a suggestion

there are people who lack basic grooming habits and in my view that's the equivalent of going to a job interview looking presentable

i'm not really sure why you're projecting so much **** i haven't said on me, but it's a little odd and you're getting into a whole conversation i wasn't even having with the guy

i never said anything about being the type of person you described, and i'm not that type of person myself

i wash and brush my hair (well i dont always brush it won't lie) , i wear shirts i've had for like 20 years that have holes in them with hoodies, i shower and brush my teeth and basic grooming (bite my nails to **** though) don't go super crazy about food exercise sometimes

i've gone outside in other people's pajamas that were way too big without giving a ****

i don't like shopping for clothes, find it boring, don't care about any of that and i'm definitely not going into debt buying clothes (havent bought clothes in a while last thing i bought was a book and some bird toys and limbo for my phone since i'm more likely to play on that than my xbox and never got around to finishing it years ago, crazy impressive **** i know)

i do have self worth issues, largely due to all kinds of abuse and if's hard for me to feel like my needs matter but my appearance has nothing to do with that and i deal with my issues largely through meditation and digging into myself and my relationships with others

like i said **** isn't black and white and people not caring can come from many places not just confidence
