Soon my little sister is going to be asking for my advice. What are some things you've learned in your life that you would advise a younger sibling?------------------ Imagination is intelligence having fun. —George Scialabba $3.50 ebay compatibility readings IP: Logged |

teach her to protect herself from the dangerous world we live in, impower her so that she never feels weak teach her that beauty comes from within and that true love is unconditional..oh and never leave the house without sunscreen.. or simply just be there for her when she needs you, that would be enough IP: Logged |

My sister just graduated high school. She made MANY mistakes in the past four years, and each one of them closely resembled the foolish teenage girl things that I myself did. It's interesting to look back and remember that I wouldn't have listened to anyone and just done what I wanted to. That's pretty much how I've looked at speaking with her. You can give "advice", but really, IMO the best thing to do is simply be there, without judgement, and full of love. We all must make our mistakes and find our own way. Of course we want to tell those we love the perils and pitfalls of the choices they are proposing to make, "I've been there, trust me", this can either drive the person away from us (especially in the teen years, NOBODY knows anything but a teenager!)or more towards whatever decision we are trying to keep them from making. Even when it's dangerous. Even when we KNOW better, it's nearly impossible to press our own opinions onto another person, especially one who has not yet learned the lessons for themselves. Just be there. I guess that's the best advice I can think of. Parents are there to freak out and punish and scold and disagree. Friends/sisters are there for support. IP: Logged |

Not trying to divert the original question, but my advice to myself in the past would be to learn to humble yourself and save yourself a lot of pain...but, of course, it did build character. Oh, and I would tell myself, "You think you know everything, but you really know nothing! You have no idea!" ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Randall has a great point about humility. One's ego is what gives one most of the problems in life. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

No offense, but no. So cliche but honestly, humans are visual creatures (not just humans either) and outer apperearance counts for something and sometimes quite a bit. But no, in a second way too, as beauty is in the beholder and some people choose to focus on external (according to how their eye choose to see beauty). Beauty is subjective and some choose to only focus on outer beauty and it does not make them wrong or right persay. Yes, someone who is beautiful outside and rotten inside too, sucks. But, outer beauty can not be ignored or played down as an important overall factor, especially from an evolutionary perspective. IP: Logged |

Just be yourself...Having said, the one who does says that must be there for the youngin... This is a very hard day and age to grow up in...I have never told my two daughters anything but...one 20 and the other 24... They have had their trials and tribulations, being the black sheep of both of the families...and judged and choices held against them...mom is always here to support them, especially the youngest has been hard. IF I were to heed to advice most gave me about her a coupla years ago, abandon her, kick her out (yes this is her family) she would surely be dead by now. But she is coming along ok. If one is not themselves, then who are they, truely? Letting them find their own way, with mom here to guide and watch, I think, is far better than imposed, structured activities as ALL their cousins are having to deal with. How does one find themselves when the parent is entirely drivin the ship? IP: Logged |

10 years from now, you'll be glad you didn't do all of the stupid things your friends did because you'll be able to pick up and go whenever you want to.Adults, especially guidance counselors, don't always know what they're talking about. So, if you have goals to achieve don't let anyone stand in the way. IP: Logged |

A large nerves passes over the bone about in the middle of the inner thigh. A blow to this area incapacitates the leg and can cause the opponent to drop. Knee strikes and heel kicks are the weapons of choice for this target. Oh and a severe strike to the hamstring can cause muscle spasms and inhibit mobility. If the hamstring is cut, the leg is useless. That is all. IP: Logged |

This is so so SO true, thanks for sharing. Carl, I think Venus means that if you want to be beautiful on the outside it takes more than makeup or nice outfits to do that. You have to have a kind expression and also be kind in your actions and you'll be more beautiful in people's eyes. ------------------ Imagination is intelligence having fun. —George Scialabba $3.50 ebay compatibility readings IP: Logged |

I would explain the importance of being able to think for yourself and making informed decisions by yourself.I remember the old saying "You and the crowd". "You can follow other people (crowd) and you might get stepped on by the crowd". Example I remember before the sub-prime mess there were so many people getting into house flipping business, obviously that didn't last. --------------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus IP: Logged |

You reap what you sow. Nothing ever comes to those who wait and do nothing. There are no shortcuts. The main path gets you to your destination. The shortcuts get you lost and over the edge of the cliff. Make your money the old fashioned way. Study hard, work hard, save hard. When you look into the abyss see nothing, just remember that your character and your beliefs save you from that abyss. They can persecute you and take away all you have, but they can never remove your character, beliefs and your dignity. Hold your head up high and live life to the fullest. IP: Logged |

SpooL, yeah, I remember when everyone was trying to flip houses, too. They all lost a lot of money. I remember my dad telling his friends that it wasn't going to work because prices were going to go way down later. YTA, very true.
