Yes, someone who is beautiful outside and rotten inside too, sucks.

But, outer beauty can not be ignored or played down as an important overall factor, especially from an evolutionary perspective.

Sorry man but you're wrong. physical beauty and inner beauty are not independent of each other, haven’t you ever thought a person was unattractive the first time you met them and then a while later after you get to know them you find them quite endearing?? i actually fell for a person i thought at first sight was definitely "not my type"..

physical beauty is not merely a list of physical traits of which you either have or don’t have, beauty is what you sense when you look at someone/something/somewhere and if that person is void of the true "content" of a beautiful soul than honestly you won’t perceive them as beautiful for too long..

More and more....i realize how grateful I am...to have not grown up a rich kid.

Regarding Carl's post about looks, it's not really that easy. The one pervasive thing about looks is that they're only marginally under your control. If you look good, it's a matter of genetics, which you didn't choose. That said, sure you want to be attracted to the one you're with, but when the looks go, you've got to have someone you enjoy hanging out with. Attractive young women aren't likely to always be after you. At some point you have to reconcile attitudes about looks with the values you have about people.

from song, Carole King lyrics "Beautiful"...

'You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your face and show the world all the love in your heart. Then people gonna treat you better, you're gonna find (yes you will) that you're beautiful as you feel.'
-----
from Disney Movie (2002) "The Country Bears"... 'You can be different but STILL fit in'
------
from animated movie (1998) "Mulan"...

'A flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest flower of all.'

'Be true to your Heart and you have all you need to make it through.'

Could you give some examples of what you mean, please?

Like many teens, my imagination is very dark and I'm sure what I imagined "not regretting" wasn't what you had in mind.

This.

If I'd believed that my adult life was going to get worse then I would have killed myself, literally. I did very strongly consider suicide when I was 16 but what stayed my hand is that I'd be 18 in less than 2 years and then I'd be free...and I was. Some of my most depressing dreams I've had as an adult are where I'm a kid again, and I'm glad the older I get the less I have those unpleasant dreams.

Luckily I didn't have access to the internet back then. If I'd read a bunch of boomer drivel all too common on the web on how easy it is to be a kid and our life will come to suck so much worse after then I think I'd have made a very different decision about killing myself at 16. But I didn't, so I figured like would get better as an adult, and it did.

Delilah, what did you mean by the 10 years from now thing? Im confused. thanks

My friends at that time got into a lot of trouble with authority figures and some had children before and soon after graduation. If I had been allowed to do anything that I wanted who knows where I would be now, not that I wanted to do everything they did. I'm just really glad that I was able to have fun in college, wasn't restricted from leaving the state or country, or had children before I was emotionally capable to handle the responsibility.

Maaaaybe don't recommend that last one. lol.

Found these on a website:
1.Never try to baptize a cat.

2.Never do pranks at a police station.

3.Beware of cafeteria food when it looks like it's moving.

4.Never tell your mom her diet's not working.

5.Never trust a dog to watch your food.
