Do we retain our same astrological makeup after we 'shuffle off this mortal coil'?

I mean, Astrology is a mechanism of the physical world, the world of science and cause/effect, isn't it? So does that mean when we die, we become non-sign specific?

I wonder what Linda thought about this. Anyone know?

If astrology indicates certain innate personality traits and if ghosts do exist, then those traits would (for whatever reason) live on--so, yes, we would still be true to our Signs; however, it's doubtful that transits would still affect us.

Oh such a great topic! I'm so wide open minded to anything. i.e. I love these type of topics

One thing that I'm curious about... alright, say there are ghost, right. Now, if someone believes in reincarnation... How do the 2 work together?

The ghost/spirit is waiting for the right time/location/parents ect. to be reborn. We have a mission to do in spirit too and it could be waiting to complete it`s spiritual mission before another go round on the wheel of life.

I agree Randall, I don`t believe transits affect spirit at all.

it all depends on wether you beleive data structures can survive outside of a physical matrix.

If you mean "energy" in one form or another, of course they can!

Yeah, so if I die a Leo with an Aqua moon, and all the other stuff, I retain that makeup until my next incarnation?

I mean, would the next incarnation be a natural progression from the last one?

I just had a totally Uranian thought. Maybe we're not done here until we have all the planets in their natural sign, residing in their home houses. Like, Mars in Aries in the 1st, Pan-Horus in Taurus in the 2nd, Mercury in Gemini in the 3rd, and so on.

Once you've reached that stage, you've evolved to the point of being worthy to graduate to the next level!

Well, it's possible.

No, actually it's not. Merc is never more than 30 degrees from the sun, so your sun would have to be in the 2nd or 4th house, not the 5th, which is it's "home" house.

Ah, well. It was an interesting concept.

Stepping out on a limb here without checking, but didn`t Linda say we follow the wheel and progress on to each new sign, in order as we go?

N_w, not clear on what your calling data; the spirit or the astrological stats? Physical matrix the body? I`m not very scientific minded .

Why wouldn't transits effect us?

Does that mean that Astrology really only effects the physical world?

So the character that a ghost exhibits is really only a memory?

Yes, I recall something to that effect as well, Juni. But I *think she also said we could cover more than one sign in a single life time too. Didn't she?

it would be interesting to do a 'death chart' as opposed to ones birth chart.

i wonder if anyone has, and found anything interesting, perhaps an aspect that might lean towards whether that person has moved on or is still earthbound. maybe the transits at the time of death would carry an effect until the person is released.

would take a lot of research. id do it, had i the time and resources. hmm... *ruminates*

Interesting question. I can only address this question from the perspective of my worldview.

I believe in reincarnation, and that we are indeed born at specific times and places to specific parents in specific cultures in order to work on some aspect of the soul.

After death, our soul is released back into the spiritual world where we are subject to the rules of that realm, not those of this world. Therefore our natal chart has no relivance from that point on.

As far as how many lives we live, I know that some think we live 12 in astrological order, but I tend to believe that we are reborn many times, each time to work on specific Soul qualities, and not in a linear order. The past life most revalant to this life may have occurred several lifetimes ago.

Just my 2 cents

Lanny

Ahh... this could get vedy deep

Just keep on a posting people! Yeah N_w, I'm with Juni on that last post... went over me like a jumbo jet

The death chart? What's that one about?

Also, I remember someone saying something about a certain planet reflecting what we could have been prior (saturn I'm thinking?)

My best freind in the world use to live in a house with a Gemini ghost, I'm sure.
It would stand to reason, I suppose since she's an Aquarius and her mom's a Libra. You can see why a Gemini ghost might be tempted to join the party.
Very mischievious, he was. Turning on the stereo full blast in the middle of the night....heck, that became such a common occurence that they decided to unplug it, and the damn thing would still blast on out of the blue...unplugged . He also liked to tap people on the shoulder when they were sleeping, or just falling asleep. ...Oh , I could go on, but I don't want to ramble...still blows me away though. I was there ALL the time - practically lived there - my buddy never wanted me to go home!

But anyway, the main reason I think this ghost was a Gemini is the feeling I got from him. Filled with mirth at his own cleverness, and just generally mischievious. Not really ominous or scary though.

a death chart, as in plotting the heavens at the precise moment of death. that might be interesting, although LOTS of research would be needed and a VERY objective viewpoint. otherwise we might be tempted to 'chart' when someone might die. i dont feel anyone in the world should do that, but thats just me.

i think that ive heard that the moons nodes can shed light on what one once was. i dont know for sure though. saturn is about karma though, in some schools of thought. i dunno. i just go with the flow, unless i have incontrovertible evidence otherwise.

I moved into a house with my husband, and our 4 kids. I had a feeling we were not alone!

On my first night there my "friend" introduced himself to me whilst I was doing my daughters room, she was 2 at the time. I just asked him not to scare me or the kids, and he never did. I seen him on a daily basis, he was excellent to me and the kids.

Unfortunaltly, my husband was not being nice to me at this point in time( we were about to seperate) And Fred my ghost..( I called him Fred) decided to take matters into his own hands, whenever I was not there with the kids, he used to traumatise my ex, open and close doors on him and ect..

The funniest thing I ever seen, was when I would pull up in my drivway, and my ex would be sitting on the verandah, too scared to go inside....lol

I am serious, this Ghost was my Friend!
he was so protective of both me and my kids!

He was a blessing!

Re: death charts...

I remember my Mother telling me she had read (sorry, can't remember where) how one could predict their, or someone else's time of death, by taking the times of all major events of ones life (marriage, birth of children, accidents, illness, divorce, etc.), and combining them using some kind of intricate calculating (?)...and this would supposedly come up with a date of that person's death.

She also told me that AFTER each of her parents died, she tried this...and it worked. She had people come to her asking her to do this for them..."predicting" their date of death...but she absolutely refused. I think that what she did do regarding each of her parents' deaths...and the accuracy after the fact...scared her enough to not want to mess around with it any further, because as far as I know she only tried this theory on them.

I'd rather not know, thank you very much!

Hi Guys,

Anafaery,

There are a lot of people who run charts for "time of death". I am one of those morbid people. I do not believe in predicting death (no, I am not an esoteric fatalist.) However, I am always interested in the transits to a person's natal chart at the time of death.

Many of the more popular astrology magazines have published articles on transits at the "time of death". I've read articles on Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

If you are interested in that type of thing, there's lots of information available. This is kind of strange but for research purposes

I'm not really all that interested in "time of death" astrology. That's just an insignificant function of a much bigger process. I'm more interested in what takes place AFTER the time of death. We all are going to punch through that veil at one time or another, and when it happens is of no relevence. But what goes on after that is what I'm dieing to know , no pun intended.
Here on earth, we're goverened by the rules of physics, and astrology is a part of those rules. What laws are we governed by after?
What influences our 'after-life' personalities and experiences?

Maybe there's a second astrology that concerns that. HEY!!
Maybe the 2 different types of charts are both valid, the first breath chart AND the spiritual birth chart. One plays a bigger part while we're here, the other comes more into play after, but it's always there. It's running in the background while we're on this plane, and overseeing the energy flow of the 'first breath' chart dynamics.

One is the primary soul chart, and the other is the soul as a human animal chart.

See, one doesn't have to be wrong in order for the other to be right.
Both could be right for their realm of influence.

Could be....

I must be morbid too Heidi. I`ve wondered since my mom passed over, why that particular day. She passed on my b`day, Feb. 2nd, so I believe it seems to hold a significance for her.. I believe she consciously choose the day because she told me she could feel her mom and sister (both passed over) and she expected to see them soon. Anyhow, thats my reason for wanting a death transit.

Lioneye,I`m fairly confident I know what happens after death ( as per my faith & beliefs), so it holds no curiosity for me at all.

I'm just curious about it all! Everyone has a slight different take on these types of things. I enjoy hearing all the different opinions/beliefs on it all.

Juni: My grandfather died on my 1st B-day.

Oh yeah, your B-day is only a day before my girls.

I know a Witch who has the same talent as John Edward.

She says there are several shifts of dimensions in existence, besides Earth school.

I believe her.

I know several Knowflakes here who have lived in other dimensions. Utterly, fascinating.

Have fun pondering

Aphrodite, how do you know they've lived in other dimensions? Did they tell you, or do you just know it? If so, how?
You're so obscure sometimes, girl.

-- This post I have to give a respone to! VERY COOL.

In me and my freind Courtny's experience- YES, ghost still keep the same astrological atributes, atleast for personality traits any way.

Her best freind Scott died about 3 years ago. Since then he has decided to stick around for the sake of keeping a lookout for the benefit of her and a few select other peaple he cares about, as well as other purposes he wont tell me or her.

Scott is still very much a Scorpio!!! same wonderfull biting sarcasm [I Love the usual Scorpio humer, even when intended to get under my skin I cant help but have an admeration and profound respect for such humer]. As well as severall other standerd Scorp traits.!

He also still has the personality traits of his birth number=31 and 4. I guess thats why he took a liking to me,Im birthed on the 30'th of Aquarius.

I only wish I could have had the pleasure of knowing this intuitive genouse while he was still in the flesh. Unfortinatly my inner doesnt work as well as Courtny's does. I need her there with me to play "transater" to be able to here what Scott has to say. Although when I sleep he and I have shared a few conversations, sadly I only remember bits and pieces upon waking.

O.k., enough anicdotes- my opinion is YES, that is all!

I too am somewhat interested in the death chart. I was compelled to cast one for my partner after his passing, in an attempt to make sense of it. The circumstances were weird.. The closest thing he had to organized religion (he was a very spiritual person) was the Greatful Dead, following them around for years and he was devastated when Jerry died. So, then, on the 7th anniversary of Jerry's death to within the exact hour of it, Jeff had his fatal accident. Seven is significant because not only was he a Pisces, ruled by seven, but his birthdate was the 25th of Feb...another 7, numerologically. I sort of consider the ninth of august to be his time of death but in actuality he lived on life support for a day and died on the 10th.. My younger brother's 7th birthday!

So I've cast charts for both the accident and the exact time of his death and found some quite profound transits going on. (Uranus transiting his asc, Neptune transiting his Mercury and Pluto transiting Midheaven..) I've not tried at all to predict anyone's death by looking for the same transits but I have to admit that I'd wondered if things might have been different if I'd been monitoring transits and had known that that date was going to be a risky time for him. Of course I know that everything happens for a reason and that his spirit had very specific reasons for departing at that time.

Those reasons are becoming more and more evident as time passes and that brings me peace.

Heidi..Kurt, Janis, Jimi and Jim..facinating characters, those.. I've been curious about their charts myself but haven't looked into it.. I can't seem to get that link to work..any others I could try?
