Hi Kat,

That's a great observation and question about power. I think Pluto also refers to "power in reserve". It rules transformation (and remember that also includes "self" transformation). Pluto in a chart gives someone the ability to transform that which it touches - meaning, if it is in your 1st house you may go through transformations that affect you as a person and your appearance (I know that I have gone through amazing changes- not really looks wise, but maybe inside).

Say Pluto is transiting your 4th house or conjuncting your IC- you may find major upheaval and renewal of domestic situations (buying and remodeling an old house, moving, etc).

Pluto also may presdispose you to causing changes behind the scenes. You may not FEEL like you have power, but you may notice things getting done on your suggestion.

One thing to keep in mind. Pluto is an outer planet and a planet of trancendence- basically, don't use the power for personal gain or it will bite you in the behind.

Kat,

Another thing to think about is that Pluto is a "use it or lose it" energy. If YOU don't feel powerful, that may mean that those around you are using your power FOR you. You might want to examine your life and see places where you let others "take over" things in your life...and you might just want to take these things back!

Plutonically,

Tim

... hey mysticaldream ...

Yeah, so you know what it's like for people to think of you as a Scorpio before a Libra ... it's even caused people to be TOO nice to me, and I'll be like, looking behind me to see who it is they are showing such stringent respect towards .... hee hee ...

What would you define as a "strong Pluto"?

Mine's the 12th...but the 12th is the house ruled by Pisces, the sign of my Sun; and is a co-ruler of my Asc, Scorpio.

Mine doesn't make any really woo-hoo aspects (a generational sextile w/ my Neptune and a perhaps interesting tight quincunx w/ my Sun), but it's also my only Cardinal.

I mean...I guess that's strong...ish?

Hi Astro!
Yes, most people guess Scorpio first for me too. I know your sun is supposed to be the strongest influence, but I "feel" like an equal mix of Libra and Scorpio, or at least a very strong Scorpio influence. People expect a Libra to be "charming" but "detached". I can be charming but detached? The Pluto/Scorpio influence definitely changes that! What about you? Do you "feel" Scorpio?

Hello Everyone

I would also like to know if Pluto is considered strong in my chart. I've read that it is not very comfortable in Virgo.

Pluto in Virgo 4th house 29°41'55
Trine Moon, Ascendant
Square Mercury
Sextile Venus, Jupiter, Neptune

I have strong Pluto influences in my chart but I cant say that the aspects are that many hmm.....:

Sun sextile pluto,Neptune sextile Pluto,Pluto opposition ascendant.

It could allso be that I have a of planets in the eighth house: Sun,Jupiter,Uranus,Neptune,South Node.

Yeah I think that could be it.I am still not that certain how this influences me though but I can guess that it adds a little intensity to my Sag nature.I do tend to attract Aquarians and then Sagittarius is not too far behind..uh I don't know its all very mysterious to me.

Heart shaped cross sorry i only just read your post with the link to the book Healing Pluto Problems. I actually already bought that book, and i was only able to read a little bit of it before i was overcome with really intense uncomfortable emotion. I will come back to it at a later time when i can handle it better. I guess i still have some initial work to do before i can face all that intense stuff the book refers too.

I honestly don't know if i am in a position to give a whole lot of advice on pluto energy but i have a strong plutonian in my life now who is forcing me to face a lot of that intense energy and emotion that i keep bottled up, so i am getting there slowly.

Reading all the posts helps because it gives you a good view of how maybe you are percieved by others when you are plutonian.

Sun conjunct pluto 1'in the 8th house, venus, neptune and mc in scorpio.

mysticaldream -

It's so funny, you know if someone you know is a little green when it comes to astrology, and they ask your Sign ... don't you sort of have to hold back a giggle when you say Libra? Cuz you just know that they painted a picture in their mind about the stereotypical Libra traits. Makes you sort of want to be the most compassionate person at that point.

As for feeling more Scorpio than Libra, there's something about my Chart which has forced me to pay careful attention to the Watery stuff, because it's like I've always try to stave them off. This makes me think that although Water is strong in my Chart, the Air part is sort of keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn't spaz out. So on the one hand, I DO associate a lot with those Scorpio energies, but either my Sun, or some other influence makes me wish upon a star for more objectivity.

The cool thing is, what you might automatically associate with Water doesn't always manifest as Water in the end. Sometimes the Water is what has helped me be more objective. I don't have any specifics off the top of my head, but perhaps it's in knowing more about deep Water gives one the confidence that the situation is well understood. Don't know if that makes sense.

Do you like Scorpio mates? They are too strong for me in a purely romantic sense.

Thanks guys,
Yep I think people have been using my power or at least I've been letting them. I think keeping myself "small" and hidden away (Scorpio like) is also a concern. I've been thinking alot lately on how I can create something that is truly my own - not something I create at work or do for others, but for myself.

Hey Astro,
I can completely relate! Also, I show different sides of myself depending on the situation. When it comes to work, since I work with the public, meeting new people, I am outgoing (charming, I hope), friendly, compassionate, warm, etc. When those people first meet me they might not think I have a temper or that they could push me around. Then they are shocked to see a different side because I don't back down easily and I'm not easily intimidated. Coworkers are like, "woah, where did THAT come from?".
Which leads me to answer your other question about men. I am MOST likely to show the "Scorpio/Pluto" side in a relationship, which can be good or horrible. I have never dated a Scorpio but I am fascinated by them. I think a Mars in Scorpio would be nice..... so far my attraction has mostly been to other air signs and especially Geminis........ but like the U2 song, I still haven't found what I'm looking for! LOL

Well, not sure exactly why, but as far as co-worker's thinking you're schizo, been there, done that. I made a really good friend during one of these "episodes". She taught me to be more assertive and open and honest with her, and I couldn't help but notice how much she appreciated that.

But you know what? I haven't felt good about doing work for money for MANY years now. I'd prefer to work for free, believe it or not. Maybe it's my Uranus/Aquarius influences, or my Pisces Chiron - not really sure yet. So that "schizo" shyte that gets reflected back to us has more to do with a necessary duality than anything else. I think so anyways ...

... As long as that doesn't feel totally uncomfortable to you. I have a really weird philosophy about money ... how about you?

Maybe you'll end up like me broke!

Having a very strong pluto influence in my chart has brought problems to my life.

I have been accused of being manipulative and forceful. Most of my life Ive felt the need to hide my power as I am aware of the strength of it...and now...when some (women normally) people get glimpses of it, they either feel threatened, jealous of me or feel I am manipulating.

Of course the people who love and care, know the real me, but I feel so misundertood at times, especially of late.

Oh well,,,,,cant please all the people all of the time !!!!

Hey, AJ,
I think we must have very similar charts!
I have felt ambivalent about money, as I always seem to be working for ultra rich, driven successful women who are also controlling, slightly bi-polar, never happy and have lost their compassion for other people and the ability to experience simple joy in life. It's almost like the universe has said, "Let this serve as a warning for you not to fall into that trap...." but I don't think it is the money itself, it's the attitude of the heart. In the end, you can be successful and true to your own soul.....and it sounds like you deserve both! I think the Chiron Pisces lets us put everyone else's needs first and feel a little guilty for succeeding ourselves.

My father has mercury conjunct pluto in leo. If he wanted to get someone to jump off a bridge he probably could! I have the trine on the other hand. It seems for all the hard aspects my father has, I have the softer versions.

My friend has Venus conjunct Pluto in Scorpio and YES, she seems to stir up alot of jealousy in women of all ages. I never quite understood it. Well, she does have the looks to envy, but some of these women are good looking themselves. She tends to lose herself in Romance though.

I have a moon in the 8th house sextile Pluto which I believe is very similar to the moon in scorpio. It wreaks havoc on my moods. I'm up and down so many times, the slightest thing just ruin my day. I had a hard time making friends in the past because people just assumed things about me that weren't even true (she's a b*tch).

I hear you! I have Pluto in my 1st house and I have been told that I can be very "overwhelming" at times. I've spent alot of time in my life keeping my personal power under wraps. I literally feel that I could bulldoze people @ times.

I only pull out the big guns" when I feel it's absolutely necessary. Other than that, if people can't deal w/me, then it's unfortunate.

As I've gotten older, I'm more @ peace w/myself and am better @ integrating my personality and not fighting myself so much.

Hi, I'm back to this post again! I already posted on one of the other pages, but I thought of another Plutonian aspect that I feel is significant but can't seem to figure out exactly how or why...

I've got Pluto (in Libra - 4th house) in Mutual Reception with Venus (in Scorpio - 5th house). Pluto is conj my Sun & Venus is conj my Uranus. It's like this web of energy in the 2 mentioned houses. My Libra & Scorpio energies are intertwined. It seems that I cannot feel or think about 1 without the other. It certainly has to do with my home/innermost life & my creativity/self-expression. Also friends & transformation. Still trying to figure out what this is about?! Ideas welcomed!

Thanks for listening.

`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'
