my mother has her moon in gemini in the 11th house
and venus in sagittarius in 5th house
and neptune in scorpio in the 5th house
and scorpio on the cusp of her 5th house
moon opposition venus

i was the first child a (scorpio) and i was always the wildchild, i loved to party, VERY sociable, very freedom loving, charming, sweet, always wanting to explore and learn and study things, very friendly and outgoing and NEVER shy, always confident. she always calls me the dreamy, spacy child, who would've made the "perfect hippie" because in my household religion is a big issue, and i'm the one who decided to go my own route and further it dy delving into spiritual sciences at such a young age. i also had an impeccable singing ability since ive been very very young and performing since i could practially talk and she pushed it for me all the way...

now my sister is a (gemini) and she's my complete opposite. she's EXTREMELY moody, kept to herself, reserved, in her own world a lot, terribly shy, not social at all, keeps to herself..however, she's like the oddball of the family. she looks different than the rest of us, shes extremely slender, the skinniest one in our entire family by far. in some ways shes just from another world...

this is interesting to me cuz i've always thought the 5th house represented the 1st child, and the 11th, the 2nd child. these placements in my mother's chart paired with my description of her two..children (my sister and i) is also dead on accurate...i wonder if astrology can actually predict the type of children you'll have...if any

Children are generally ruled by V house.

1st pregnancy is ruled by V house (to know if the baby is going to be male or female you should look at the sign on the cusp of V house)

Male signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sag, Aqua) mean boys;

Female signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorp, Cappy, Pisces) mean girls.

2nd pregnancy is ruled by VII house (if it is your second pregnancy then the baby's sex will depend upon the sign on VII house cusp)

3d pregnancy is ruled by IX house

4th pregnancy is ruled by XI house

5th pregnancy is ruled by I house

6th pregnancy is ruled by III house

and then you start with V house again.

I don't know if this house cusp sign thing works always but still seems interesting.

P.S. My brother was my mom's second pregnancy (she has Gemini on VII house cusp)

My sister-in-law has Pisces on V house cusp (she has a daughter, 1st pregnancy)

A friend of mine has a son, Leo on her VII house cusp (second pregnancy)

And another friend of mine has a son (second pregnancy), her VII house cusp is at 3 Cancer so I think her time of birth may not be very accurate..

Just Curious but Scientifically if the male ads the extra Chromozone in order to determine the sex of the child, wouldn't it matter more what houses his planets fall in?

Just a thought

What about if you loose your first baby....Because technically you never had the child...So does your next pregnancy fall in the first or the second????

Yes, Panspride but only scientifically!
If this sign-on-cusp rule does work then it does depend entirely on women if it is going to be a boy or a girl! (not even on synastry placements!)

Beth,
Pregnancies should be counted not born babies!
For instance, if someone miscarried twice then the next pregnancy will be the 3rd thus it will fall in the IX house.
I think this rule refers only to is-it-gonna-be-boy-or-girl questions but I may be wrong.

Hmm... my mom and sister in law both have Pisces on the 5th and Taurus on the 7th. My SIL has two boys and my mom has a girl (me) and a boy.

I have Capricorn on the 5th and Pisces on the 7th - but I don't have any kids at this time. I would lean more towards genetic predispositions and the environment of the "area" that points to whether one will have a boy or a girl.

I do believe that a person's planets / sign will indicate or predispose one to have children of a certain nature. My mom is a Cancer Sun / Moon Scorp rising and my Dad is Cappy Sun / Cancer moon / Cappy rising.

My mom has a strong Jupiter in Sagittarius and her Sun, moon and pluto are all in the 9th house.

My brother and I are both Saggies (He has a Scorp moon). My mom also has a T-square with the missing leg pointing to Aries (I have an Aries moon).

Now her 11th house IS ruled by Virgo and her 5th by Pisces - I am a Virgo rising and my brother is a Pisces rising.

I would say that Dad also has a big contribution. My ruling planet is Mercury, which also happens to be in Capricorn and falls into my 4th house (traditionally ruled by Cancer and is also the moon signs of both parents). My dad also has 3 planets in the 9th house (traditionally ruled by Sag).

Both parents have strong pluto in their charts (my dad's is a fire singleton in the 7th house) I have pluto conjunct Ascendant in my 1st house and my brother has Pluto in the 7th house. Another weird point. My brother has his Sun in the 10th house (traditional ruler Capricorn) I have it in the 4th house (traditional ruler Cancer).

First house Suns and Full moon babies also run in my family. I have two grandmas and a grandpa, dad and nephew who are all full moon babies. My dad, other nephew, grandma, (bro has Mars in Aries in the 1st) and my SIL all have 1st house Suns (which is something I also attract).

My brother (Sag Sun / Scorp moon / Pisces rising) and his wife (Scorp Sun / Aqua moon / Scorp rising) neither of them have any Earth planets- Thier two boys however:

Lance: Scorp Sun / Taurus moon (singleton) Aries rising (they both have Mars in Aries)- he has a strong Sag Pluto in the 9th house

Tate: Aqua Sun / Scorp moon / Aquarius - rising (He has his moon in the 9th house and Pluto conjunct Mars in the 10th / 11th)

I know this all sounds kind of boring.. LOL.. I am just amazed at how parents can imprint or leave their mark on their childs charts.

Pretty cool

Hello Pidaua

I've noticed the trend also through my daughter's and my own charts.

Just for reference:

My Mother is a Taurus with a Pisces moon (thought it was Cancer a while back)

My Father is an Aries with a Scorpio moon

I have 5 planets in Scorpio
*My sun is house 1/2

*My mercury, venus, mars and uranus are all in my 2nd house.

*My Libra moon and pluto are in 1st house

*I also have a number of Uranus aspects

My daughter:

Sun Aqua/moon Sag/Asc. Cancer

*Sun, Jupiter and Uranus are in her 8th house.

*Venus in 7/8

*Mercury is in her 7th also.

*She has 5 pluto aspects

*She also has 6 venus aspects

What about a conception chart?
I heard somewhere that you could tell the sex of an unborn baby by looking at what sign the moon was in at the point of conception. Is that true?

that would be neato! my 5th house cusp is Aqua. i would love to have an aqua child i think. that is if i have children ever being a gem im still warming up to the idea hehehe. or it could be a boy right. according to this theory.

aquas are cool.

seventh house is aries, difficult children, but a challenge is always good me thinks.

whats interesting about this tho is that if your 5th house cusp is a masculine sign doesnt it mean that (PROBABLY) the seventh, 9th, 11th will also be male signs?? (aqua, aries, gemini, leo?) i know the degrees can mess that up..but still?

Love

Well, I don't know about my parents... but I know about my kids.

5th house Libra cusp, 7th house Cappy cusp, 9th house Aquarius cusp.... I've got 3 boys

First son, Leo Sun, Leo Moon, Libra asc
second son, Cancer Sun, Cancer asc, Pisces Moon (ya, he's the emotional one)
third son, Sag Sun, Aries asc (by seconds), Pisces moon.

One thing that I noticed was the shift if their Moons as my path progressed, starting with Leo Moon in the 10th, next Pisces Moon in the 10th, ending with the third son's 12th house Pisces Moon.

I've also noticed aspects repeating themselves from my chart to my kids' charts.

I've got a Pisces Moon, two of my boys have Pisces Moons. I've got a Venus/Mars conjunction, two of my boys have a Venus/Mars conjunction.

hi, everyone

i just realized that if the pregnancies are ruled by every second house doesn't that mean that whatever sign is on the cusp of the 5th house every second sign after that the baby is going to be of the same sex.

i have aqua rising so my 5th house cusp is gemini, my 7th house is leo, 9th house is libra so on

my first baby was a boy, so that worked out
then i miscarried. my last three are girls.

can anyone help with this?

Actually, I too subscribe to the theory that the moon sign at the time of conception can indicate the sex of a child. My studies with known dates of conception overwhelmingly showed the power of "opposite attractions" at work; i.e. when the moon was in a feminine sign, a male child was conceived, and vice versa.

Also of interest to me, on the topic of conception astrology, is the deja vu phenomenon and feeling of fatedness often experienced when one meets another whose sun and moon fall in the signs they occupied at one's conception. From my own history, and a fair sampling of others' for whom time of conception was believed to be accurate, I suspect such meetings to be of particularly great import.

wow really cool that thing about whether it will be a girl or a boy. I read somewhere that pisces 5th house cusp means there is some illusion about the first born. in the way that the child might never exist or that it might be adopted. anyone ever read it? or have personal experience of this?
