oh, yes, Tim, of course. the 2nd and the 8th are about "values" - dif ppl, dif values.

to me, money are an external value. money comes and goes, money is more about the state's economy and world politics, than about who *I* am.

for what is the *value* of money, really?

from my observation - one doesn't *feel* worthy on account of having money. they don't seem to help much. money is much wanted, alright. but quite often, once you have it, you realise you've been had

know what I mean? if you limit your "values" to money.... It’s like building castles on sand…

but I agree - each chooses their own values. no way of knowing which is more worthy of our lifetimes...

cristi,

I agree, values are important with the 2nd and 8th house. But people who have planets focused in the 2nd or 8th house have a tendency to be VERY concerned about how much money they have, and be worried if they don't have what they consider enough. There are some exceptions to this: for example, if Neptune (spirituality, also confusion) is focused in the 2nd or 8th house the person may feel that their money is everyone else's money or be confused about money.

So let's be fair and say the 2nd and 8th house is about BOTH "money" AND "values". And, while some like to focus on the money side of things, others need to have a little more "value" in their lives than just money alone.

Having it both ways,

Tim

Oh. Thanks for explaining, Tim.

I think the discussions about the 2nd/8th houses in this thread are the perfect example of why there should be no censorship of astrological interpretations, nor anyone's opinion being labelled "misinformation".....

OK Tim
for clarification
an "easy opposition" is a configuration consisting of an opposition and a single planet that is making a trine to one side and a sextile to the other so named by alan oaken.
is that right?

did you get my e-mail?

oh, Zala, I don't like being 'used' like that - maybe cos I don't like the cause it'd help support.
Tim and I were talking astrology; the others were not. quite often, they're not... I don’t like it when personal agendas get behind supposed astrology chit-chat.
Maybe I don’t like chit-chat at all.
external discipline is needed when ppl lack internal discipline.

Lalalinda,

That's right! I agree, the term "Easy Opposition" for an aspect pattern is easy to confuse with the "opposition" aspect. But the only other name I've heard for it is "Point of Thales" which makes even less sense! I don't know if Alan was the first one to call it that: all I know is someone SAID Alan called it that, so I took up the new name.

Didn't get any email yet, but I will keep my eye out for it!

Easily,

Tim

Thanks Tim
So in this instance
would we classify this as an aspect pattern or a configuration?
I learned something new

Lala,

I'm going to confuse you a little bit more: the answer is...both! Aspect patterns ARE configurations. I like the term "aspect patterns" since this can be compared and contrasted with "chart patterns". Also "aspect pattern" is a VERY clear way to describe what we are looking at: the patterns that form when aspects combine.

Liking clarity,

Tim

I don't know if anyone said this yet, but the good news is, IT"LL END AT SOME POINT.

Saturn transits hurt, no lie. But the strength you gain from them is incredible. They're worth the struggle. It hurts to be beaten down and reshaped, but your form is better afterwards.

yeah, but HOW will it end?
right about now, two of my closest friends are going through the same Saturn transit over their Suns. and they share the same 'problem' - of not being able to assume responsibility for what they want, for who they are - they are afraid of choosing one way over another, so they keep dragging both ways along. of course, they both feel miserable - they both find ways to cope - each his own.
to all this, I am a silent and fearful observer - what if they will fail the test? what if the fear will be stronger? what if they will cheat? what if they'll refuse to grow up and choose instead to remain kids? afterall... they are Leos. and the lesson here is "grow up". it's coming their way from numerous directions (family, romantic rel, work, friends) - yet they keep finding justifications for avoiding the issue, avoiding responsibility...
I'm pretty sure there are some ppl who fail to learn during the Saturn transit... what if this will be the case with my friends...
