Xodian, my best friend, Gemini Sun/Cancer Moon, is always quoting from that book and he's gay.I'm a Gemini Sun girl and though straight, I volunteer at the local Gay/Lesbian Community Center and have been an active member in local gay right causes. So, is the general consensus that astrology can help determine sexual orientation or just predispose you to having a more open mind? IP: Logged |

Btw "sexual preference" is insulting as it implies that a gay person chose to be gay.Oh its just a preference. That person chose to be that way because they wanted to be judged, estranged, and persecuted. They will burn in hell for their choice right? I don't think anyone in their right mind would choose to be gay, unless they're some sort of a masochist or have identity issues. The correct terms is "sexual orientation." Use it. IP: Logged |

RIGHT-ON, Blue I agree with you and also I am ambivalent re Gay-ness being determined by genetics. There are so many homosexuals in my family!!! I went to my family reunion, & everytime I turned around, I was trippin over one....LOLIP: Logged |

I saw in some charts that with gay men there is allways something with aspects between Mars/Venus Uranus or Chiron, but with gay women aspects between Mars/Venus Pluto, even trine or sextile.IP: Logged |

Here is Steven and Jodie Forrest's opinion on the subject of sexual orientation in synastry charts. The interviewer is The Mountain Astrologer (TMA), an astrological journal, which you may find here. http://www.MountainAstrologer.com quote: TMA: Speaking of gender, do you work with gay relationships? SF and JF: Oh yes, quite a bit. TMA: Have you found anything that stands out that may have a specifically gay relationship signature? SF: I have a tentative thought, but I don't have a lot of energy in this one. In the individual birth chart there may be a little more emphasis upon Uranian contact with relationship significators, but I don't feel strongly enough to make a great fuss about it. I've never really sensed much of a distinction between gay and hetero relationships. The issues are the same, apart from the societal insanity. JF: If I were to cut off the names from the charts, I would have no idea if this were a heterosexual or a gay relationship.

I agree with you.. BlueRoamer.. Being gay, or bi, or straight is not a choice. alot of straight people believe that it is(ie. my mother) I tried to explain it to her that i definately did NOT choose to love womyn. I definately didnt choose to be bullied/ridiculed all thru high school. Why would any choose that?? Sun:Cancer Moon : pisces MEr:Cancer Uranus/Pluto in LIbra IP: Logged |

tbone, As a MOM, I can say, your being a Lesbian probably makes you Mom feel like a failure...as though she did something WRONG in her child rearing---it's easy for mothers to take on way too much responsibility when it comes to how their kids turn out. Maybe your Mom would feel more comfortable if you didn't "practice". My mother was a repressed (I think), lesbian, most of her life. She became a born again Christian and started spewing her venom---but she never rejected me. She even allowed me to sleep with one of my girlfriends at her house!!! By-the-way...lots of Capricorn & Scorpio in her chart.IP: Logged |

"Maybe your Mom would feel more comfortable if you didn't "practice" What IS that supposed to mean?? Not practice? Like pretend that im not gay? No, i cant do that anymore. I tried to be straight most of my teenage years. Im sure she does think that she did something wrong-Why cant parents of gays/lesbians educate themselves?? I sent her to a couple of sites (PFLAG) that would give her info and educate her on the true facts of gay/lesbianism. There is no excuse for ignorance. "I chose to be gay the same day you chose to be straight." IP: Logged |

tbone, I understand & agree with your point about this..I was simply suggesting how your Mom might feel. My being a Lesbian was a difficult thing to address between me & my mother for years...we didn't even see each other for a couple of years over it. One thing I can say, is that you can't force a person to be or think the same as you. It's a hurting thing for all concerned...IP: Logged |

BLKFox in answer to your intriguing question: quote: Am I the only lesbian here?
No, just the only lesbian oddly choosing to post their sexual preference as a topic in an ASTROLOGY focused forum, at a site dedicated to honor Linda Goodman. Hope this helps, LOL! ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit"

Yourfriend ("myfriend", I hope), re:your quote: "No, just the only lesbian oddly choosing to post their sexual preference as a topic in an ASTROLOGY focused forum, at a site dedicated to honor Linda Goodman." Again, the reason why I asked the question is because of the "hetero" assumption, in many of the posts here. Obviously, from the response, the question struck a nerve. It is important, to me, to address the "hetero" assumption, just as it would be for me to address a race or gender assumption. I think Linda Goodman would agree with me... There's nothing "odd" about it, in my opinion. IP: Logged |

Astrology Chat about astrology, horoscopes, natal interpretations, synastries, astral twins, etc.Free-for-all Talk about anything you like; make new friends, lend support, share inspirational stories, and recommend any interesting sites that you come across Soul Unions Linda held a strong belief in the power of Love to overcome all odds, so (in dedication to Linda) this Forum is all about Love, romance, and relationships Reading the posted decriptions of the above three forums we can clearly see that two of them may have been better choices in which to post a topic based on sexual preference, that is all. Had your topic been focused on a placement of planets or aspects perhaps indicating a belief of why a person chooses preference for opposite or same gender for intimacy this would have been the appropriate forum to address. Do you see where I'm going? People come to this area of the forums to both learn, and help others with astrology questions, ideas, and issues. When they have to dig through the piles of non astrology based posts it is both inconsiderate and annoying. I have no issues with you or your sexual preferences at all. It's your reading skills associated with basic forum guidelines I chose to point out. I had no intentions of embarassing you either just a gentle reminder of why this particular forum area exists. If everyone posted anything they liked in this area of the forum rather than the posting on Topics it was designed for, we would clearly have no reason for separate forums it would ALL be called "Free For All" I hope this better explains my position and reason for posting within the thread at all. ps I do understand where you are coming from regarding societies assumptions with regards to sexual preference, race, gender, and even religion. Just found this topic completely misplaced here at Lindalands Astrology Topic area. Please read your original post again. I'm sure you'll agree it does not address any astrology topics at all. Others recognized this as well and tried to salvage it with adding in thier own association to astrological factors... So that we are clear; my chords don't get struck with silly things such as this. My post was simply a gentle reminder... My cheesy faced icon and LOL comment were indicators of my playfulness... Yes, your friend in spirit
