DISCLAIMER: this post and the following by other posters were in response to the original post about compassion which has been deleted

I am going to hop onto the wagon taking you down to the guillotine where your head is currently lined up on the block.

Quite often I notice that self-professed sensitive people have that finely tuned sensitivity focused far more on themselves than anyone else. Not always, but it's not that uncommon a scenario.

It's a rare person who doesn't have feelings or emotions. The expression of them may be hidden (e.g Moon/Pluto) or controlled or pushed aside (e.g Moon/Saturn) but that does not mean lacking in emotion.

I doubt I'm not alone in having endured the company of someone who cries a lot about their hurt feelings, oblivious to the vile and thoughtless comments they have cast out elsewhere at others they have dismissed as not having their fine feelings, sensitivity, etc. Yes, I am thinking in someone in particular, but they are not a Pisces. They are, however, very annoying and self-centered.

On the other side of the coin, I have a dear friend, not a Pisces either, who is the most compassionate and caring person, but also hyper-sensitive. Actually, she often finds it tough to get through a normal day because she empathises with other people so much and feels their pain.

I can see Aries being objective and giving a straight answer to a dilemma when asked. That might well be the compassionate response a friend in need could use.

hi blueroamer

i am so with you on this. that has also been my experience with pisces sun people.

my sister in law is a pisces sun and she has been consistently rude over many years but then brushes it off as that is just how she is and will always be. while she displays care and kindness, she has the tact and compassion of a tank rolling down hill. last month while i was in hospital (on my birthday) she phoned me to let me know that she had sent a belated card and then forewarned me that she had written another of her rude/stupid remarks in it and that i should just let it go because she didn't mean any harm by it.

and you're right about the generalisation, yada, yada, yada and i suspect that a few pisceans and supporters will jump on you for this (and me now) but we can only speak from our own experiences.

obviously we have something to learn from them otherwise they wouldn't get under our skin and we wouldn't be attracting them.

her husband is a sagi and he is surrounded by her, their twin daughters and his daughter from his first marriage - all pisces sun. feel for him. actually, talk about lessons to learn.

my node is in pisces in 12th house. i find aries to be quite compassionate - it comes from that humility of constantly stuffing up and learning the hard way. i have sun, asc, venus and merc all in aries. yeah, we rock.

this is only my second day on this site. it's great - i'm loving it. thinking it may become addictive.

I completely agree with the three of you. Pisces sun, and even moon, natives are very compassionate and sensitive towards themselves. I find that even with libras, who are said to be concerned with harmony, equality and fairness within relationships and among other people are very concerned with themselves. They appear to be very preoccupied with others feelings, but they are more concerned with themselves. I don't mean to make it sound like they are completely self-centered and uncaring of others, but I think it is a stretch to deem their particular sign as the most compassionate and "self-sacrificing."

Both pisces and libra are great charmers though! lol

I see no comparison of Pisces and Aries, but whatever, two horses of a different color.

Re-think the symbolism of Pisces: two fishes. I have read several different interpretations and I see the truth in all.

One is, one of the fish swimming up towards spirituality, while the other down toward materialism. I have known fish of both of these qualities, sadly, mostly the latter.

The other, one which I feel most myself, is one fish swimming deep, with Divinity and the other swimming the surface with humanity.

There is a horrible shadow side to Pisces and I have reared this ugly head once before. The opposite of the giving, compassionate Pisces, is the taker, the Queen/King who sits upon a throne and lavishes in the attention of her/his minion.

Ewww...UGLY!!!

Pisces compassion is symbolic and one of the higher expressions of the Pisces energy, we are all individuals and 1/12 of the population of the world can not be kind, loving compassionate creatures that texts tell us Pisces is. Merely symbolism.

Again, the higher expression of.

How many higher expressions of the other 11 signs do we know?

Not many I would dare to say.

When looking at Pisces or any sun sign for that matter, look to the signs beside. I can be quite cold and aloof, well I am a 1962 Pisces with a ton of Aqua, and a bit of Aries thrown it for good measure! But my basic, intrinsic nature is that of compassion, empathy so much that it hurts.

Sometimes Pisces can be seen as being "stuck up" just cause they are shy, or would rather not engage in the mindless banter of society, hurts too much so people judge Pisces for their withdrawl.

I think we as individual humans can not judge another or make comment on their personality traits until we have not walked a mile, but walked a lifetime in the other's shoes...

hi hippiechick

"I think we as individual humans can not judge another or make comment on their personality traits until we have not walked a mile, but walked a lifetime in the other's shoes..."

i get what you are saying. but.............

i don't think we are here to walk in the other person's shoes. i think we are here to walk our own and in the knowledge of that to accept and understand that the world is different and evolves differently for each of us. and that we make the choices and walk the path that is right for each of us. and to give each other the freedom and love to be who we are and be where we are and evolve as we do without judgement. i think that that is compassion.

simply stated - my personal experiences with pisceans is that they are very quick to point out any injustice upon them but are a bit blind to those they caste upon others. and of course these comments will be generalised because i haven't met all the pisceans in the world. but that is not to say that all pisceans are the same. obviously i am attracting pisceans with this shadow side because i have something to learn from them - something that reflects something about me.

i think that those sublime piscean qualities of compassion are what each human no matter any part of their astrological make up aspires to be - at soul level. and we all have shadow sides - and we are supposed to learn from them.

i know what you mean about stuck up and shy. and i get that. i get that in my own way - i'm very direct in speech which may come off as combative at times, when i'm simply just having a discussion. but i think that how that is taken is more about the person perceiving than the person doing too. so these people are offering us lessons for us to grow. everyone does. i think in the end of it - if we were totally honest with ourselves and others - we would see ourselves in everyone.

all that is said and done. but it doesn't change the fact that personally, my experiences with pisceans (and leos) are consistently challenging and frustrating.

Yea Im pretty sure I was just thinking this yesterday when I was telling my freind about all the pisces people I knew.. I have never met a compassionate one.. actually scratch that I met one guy maybe.. idk if he was actually compassionate but he was into raising money for cures especially Cancer cause his uncle had died from it.. but yea whoever gave this descprition to Pisces was confused.. I think its more of aspects that give a peron a compassionate nature. I consider myself the most compassionate person I know.. Im always trying to help people and I want to help people so much more.

The shadow side of Pisces is the exact opposite of it's generally described nature: cruel and amused by suffering, mean, non commital, deceiptful (sp? ) etc

I read that in Astrology for Lovers by Liz Greene...I believe...anyway I've found that it can be true if the person is not feeling their best or something or has major conflicts

Peace ~

Check out this thread for info ;-))

Yes, I have a feeling (Pisces Moon )

BR ~

I understand your observations -- I've met a few.... ummm.... unPiscean-Piscean Suns in my travels. There's a Pisces fella at my work who's a veritable bundle of contradictions: sympathetic to a fault, but absolutely cold sometimes in his dealings with others. He is both loved and loathed by others who work with him -- no inbetween. Uranus on the MC, Moon/Pluto conjunction in the 10th quincunx Sun in the 5th, Libra Asc. His Mars in Taurus is the final crowning touch I'm one of his admirers -- this Watery fella is SOLID. Dependable/responsible to the end of the road. He's a Midwest farmboy by upbringing, but far outstrips me in "metaphysical" studies -- his karate classes (brown belt) led him into pressure points, meditation and qigong. I think he likes it that I match his Moon/Pluto intensity with my Pluto/Asc :-D We are good friends -- he comes to chat in my office often, and I "teach" (my Saturn on his Asc)

I've not known the Shadow-Pisceans well, but I know the less-than-compassionate things my own Pisces Moon has indulged in over the years.....

Please don't generalize about sunsigns, moonsigns,or other sign placements for that matter. You have to consider the overall chart.

There are jerks of all sunsigns, moonsigns, and other sign placements

There are compassionate people of all sunsigns, moonsigns, and other sign placements.

Don't post the link to your chart like that -- any (malicious) person could get into your astro.com account and mess with your info. They expire after 24 hours or so anyway, so people who don't see the pic right away won't get to.
Better to upload it to a host. If you click on the chart-pic (the image in your link) then it opens a new window without all the text and without your personal info and settings. Save that to your hard drive, upload it, then post it with the [img][/img] tags. Good job for your 1st day!!

(Your Venus is about a degree and a half from my Saturn btw, but that's about it -- perhaps it was your Uranus on the DSC )

Raymond ~

You know I agree with you totally
As High Commissioner of the Anti-Generalizations Force, I am one of the first to leap into the fray when a generalization rears its ugly head (that is, if I have the time and energy -- unthinking generalizations are the norm around here :-\ ). But I believe (nearly) all the posts in this string are mentioning specific people of a particular Sun or Moon sign that we've met during our lives.....

hey Zala

thanks for all of that. i will do it later. i'm kind of unfocussed and rushed at the moment - stopping in at the computer. i knew this would be addictive.

i definitely feel teacher/learning energy between us. on quick glance it's not apparent in my chart - but i'm very very intuitive. if you can get past all that aries - a lot of people make very general observations about me based on that - but there is a lot that goes on within - that not many get a glimpse of - only those with an open heart and mind. anyway - i look forward to talking with you again later. i will come back tonight our time and try again. hopefully will talk with you again tomorrow. appreciate your help and your comments a great deal. thanks.

for now

are you a pleiadean by any chance? the more i settle into this - the more that exists here. there's something definitely happening here.

it's like there is a chord connecting from our feet - like we come from the same place - if you know what i mean?

How can I find out if I'm a Pleiadean?? Well, since the Maia Nebula is in the constellation of Taurus, I suppose as a Libran that makes me kin (Venusian) -- however, I feel I'm from Zubenelgenubi, actually
