I have Sun/Merc in the 8th house if I use Equal houses. I've never really identified with it... however, reading the part of your post where you can make out a hint of a thought in others resonates with me, so IDK!!!In any case, I definitely identify more with my Placidus system 9th house Sun/Merc. Another thing I didn't mention earlier about the 8th house is that it definitely gravitates one torward being a introvert, when I was younger, I always felt like a loner, and I sort of still am, but I am also very independent and I don't need to rely on someone else. But I still have difficulties relating to others, I really hate superficial chit chat, etc. Thats why I love university, where I can discuss with others about real things. But again I can't relate to others unless there has been some intensity, this probably also has to do with Pluto in the eleventh house. But my Leo sun has always hated being a loner, and would rather like everyone to adore me, lol!------------------

Missneptune, I like your post about the 8th house. I always wondered a lot about this house. My daughter's 8th house is filled and mine and my son's is pretty much filled too. I have my sun, mercury and venus in the 8th house (in aries). What was said about the psychic and intuitiveness of the 8th house, I can relate. I have been told by a couple of people that I have that in my chart. I am not quite sure what my 8th house means for me though.IP: Logged |

I can't seem to kick my 8th house habits. I have Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and North Node in my 8th house so this is probably why. IP: Logged |

I've been reading up on this too, as I'm trying to figure out someone with this placement. I'm reading private, secretive, and yes distrusting. I take it at face value because my Leo Venus is in 8th House and everything I read about that placement, is pretty spot on. The reason I ask this is because I have a friend with Mars/Saturn conj opp Sun in the 8th house.He is quite intense. Sun is in Aries. And even with Saturn opposite Sun, there is still the intense Aries Sun peaking through. He lost his Dad very young and took on the more "father" role to his siblings. I think that this is the Saturn opp Sun "older responsible brother" personality he shows them He is also a highly sexed individual. As wise as he is, he is also quite impetuous and foolhardy (Mars-Sun). But he is NOT "look beneath the surface" type nor all that cryptic. What you see is really what you get with him. There is not much that is hidden or hard to decipher (well at-least in my view). But he is very personable. Very insightful. Not that into sex beyond just "doing" it- infact I think sometimes detached. He did have the unfortunate experience however of contracting an annoying sexual disease that took its sweet time to heal. And that could be Saturn/Mars in aspect to eighth house Sun. IP: Logged |
