One of the reasons I notice details like 'your' and 'you're' incorrectly used is because I never learned grammar at school and am looking extra carefully to make sure I am not getting it wrong. It's not second nature.

My mother left school at 13. She is slow of study by nature. But you can't pull the wool over the lioness's eyes. It's why I rarely tell lies. Mercury/Pluto is very perceptive, she has the Conjunction very close in degree.

sunshine lion - it's phonetically correct, so it's no big deal. It would be weird if you had spelled it something like 'intellqmence'.

Me too. They don't teach grammar in school here. I was told by a former employer (who was about 20 years older than me) that I have shocking grammar. It left a very bad dent in my ego. I've bought myself a grammar book which I'm yet to read but will in due course. I'm terribly sensitive especially to "your" and "you're", it annoys me thoroughly when I see it.

It's ok I actually had to look it up in the dictionary and google it(quite a few people spell it with an e by the way, hence the confusion), when I started to think it may not be a typo. Yes, I am that sad...

23 - I've wondered if "you're" is eventually going to be conflated into "your" over time. Just because of the frequency with which people are doing it these days... the English language is always evolving (and always has done) through its everyday use, so...

This happened in English state schools in the 70s and I think also the 60s. My grammar is O.K because I read a lot as a child, I still do read a lot. I was bothered about this when I went onto Higher Ed but the professor in my department said I was worrying about nothing my writing was fine. From that moment my insecurity on the subject dissolved.

I can live with the odd typo and grammar error. Complete disregard for any attempt to make a post readable can be quite annoying, however.

Nightjar, that's not sad, that's called learning.

"Look it up in the dictionary!"

My dad's stock answer if I ever asked him what a word meant. I think he was grooming me to finish off his crossword as an adult.

You know what annoys me - when people assume that because you are spiritual, you can't also be intelligent... based on the assumption that to believe in spiritual/metaphysical things indicates a lack of capability in logic and reasoning... They are two completely different things.

Also, looking things up is important if you want to learn! Asking questions is important too. I'm always asking questions - if I don't understand something, how else am I supposed to learn? There are times when I've asked someone what they meant by something or what a word meant, and they've indicated that I must be dumb for not knowing. To me that's just insecure on their part.

GL - totally agree. Mr 23's family are terribly spiritually constipated and completely mock religion (Christianity is a favourite target of theirs) because it is illogical and old. Annoys me thoroughly.

SL - based on what I saw as to how you wrote "intelligence", I just assumed it was a slip of the hand not poor spelling.

I didn't notice the intelligence slip. It's an easy word to scan over with a letter out somewhere.

The spirituality thing I am still thinking about. Mercury/Saturn Taurus is kicking in here. I couldn't give a quick answer on that. I will still be thinking about it tomorrow.

23 - I wish I hadn't killed the thread by lucia the other day on visualization/ manifestation. It was a really good thread and something I have been studying.

back to the topic -

I'm thinking that spirituality employs a different type of 'intelligence'... but spirituality in itself is experienced in different ways by different people. So it may be that the intelligence required is the openness/willingness to accept that everyone has their own experience and that we are all on our own path... some people don't necessarily have 'spiritual experiences' either, but they may have belief. And that in itself is an important place to be on the path. Errrr but then we can get onto the topic of how some religions actually influence the thought processes of their followers... so, two different things here, as was already mentioned.

I killed that thread by accident. It totally disappeared and my name was in the subject line. Lucia looked for it the next day. Gone. great thread too.

on spirituality and religon -
you can be spiritual and not religious
you can be religious and not spiritual

the paths to enlightenment and enrichment are many, I can not judge anothers path, only look inside to make sure I am on mine.

someone mentioned mercury uranus

sun 19 sag
mercury 25 sag
uranus 0 cap
saturn 3 cap

professional astrologers i've had consultations with have all pin pointed mercury Uranus as a source of intelligence. they've also mentioned it as a sign I might play an instrument (which i do)

now that same mercury rules my third house so I'm very good with foreign languages (mercury 9th house)

the official definition of intelligence we use in psychology is creative problem solving. I can very easily see how uranus might play into that. As innovative breakthrough way of thinking.

Recently, it's been brought to my attention that a very significant number of nobel prize winner scientists have sch children. That analogy works with mercury conjunct uranus. Einstein himself had a son with mental health issue.

How annoying that the thread disappeared... hope someone starts a new one (I'm too lazy)...

Agreed on the spirituality/religion points.

intelligent people love this comic. i'm not joking. people who work for Google idolize it.

Woohoo!

Gemini Rising
Mercury opposite Saturn
Mercury conjunct Venus
Mercury Sextile Uranus
Mercury Quint Pluto

I believe the Moon can or does carry a certain intelligence, and that all the planets can inform intelligence in some manner.

Lucky b**st**ds with
Mars/Uranus
Mars/Mercury
Jupiter in Aquarius

I was an exceptionally intelligent child & teen....then my brain started to consume itself, or something to that effect.
