I wanted to clarify that this means you forgive them but not necessarily that you stay together. You are friends though and if the other contacts you you don't turn them away.

Because no matter what horrible thing they did that hurt you, you still feel that you were loved by them and see the relationship as a positive experience (not saying there isn't a lot of pain, too. But ultimately, you don't hate them and are thankful for the experience, b/c you feel you were truly loved.)
