I'm doing 5 readings if these people are still interested - after all there was a little dissatisfaction here and there throughout the last thread. So here's my list and the 5th spot is open at this stage:

I think you need two rune casts to answer your questions and concerns. I will do the 5 rune cast for the elements to determine what this King of Pentacles is about that you have seen in other readings. Then I will do Egil's Whalebone to uncover the answers regarding all of your questions. I am hoping that Egil's Whalebone will indicate the details of the type of work and where you're career will be headed after you are comfortable in a job and how it will all go for you from there regarding work/career.

With Eihwaz in the position of Earth relating to work and earth type themes, I think the King of Pentacles is a figurehead within a type of publishing system. I think he may represent both the system and perhaps a key individual. He takes people under his wing. It could be a type of journalism and I did feel it interesting that when I saw Algiz it immediately reminded me of Al Jazeera (which it hasn't done before)- so it may not be Al Jazeera but perhaps your work is connected to the 'wheels' of a similar type of 'engine'. When I look for the details within this rune and its position, I feel that initially the work is kind of optional so perhaps it has an unpaid freelance type of feel but perhaps also there is a facility to it that can get you onto bigger things. It feels like it would not be unnoticed on a resume. I think the level of involvement with this initial thing would be more like a training ground for the type of issues, processes, considerations etc for the real jobs related to this type of 'system' so newsworthy, controversial, topical, interesting views, exposes etc. Kind of like free sourced journalism or activism. There is a sensation that you will really have to motivate yourself to be a part of this 'system' as you won't feel much in the way of rewards. However as mentioned there is a certain strength inherent here and a testing and defining of your goals and ambitions - so there is a little bit of a feel like you need to think 'do I really want what I say I want - and how much do I want it'. It does not feel that the association will be long lived however the repercussions have a core of strength - in terms of experience, insight and definition of the endurance required to develop your goals.

Nauthiz, in the element of air, and themes related to communication suggests to me that there is a certain discomfort for you here - like you had a different expectation of where you would like to develop your skills and how you would like them to be recognised and utilised. So there is a sort of excuse not far behind any explanation in your relation to the King of Pentacles themes indicated in the earth position. But the sensation is that there are hidden relief, small epiphanies and insights that help ease the restrictive nature of the less than optimal 'system'. When considering the two runes just mentioned there is a sensation of 'strength in adversity' - and all that this can reveal or contribute. It may even cost you a small amount of money which you don't really want to 'throw away' but may feel that you have to in order to experience the nature of the 'system' mentioned.

Ansuz reversed in the fire position, suggests that you are extremely passionate about many things and have a lot of cardinal power to dive into something after the initial perusal that you would give deems it ok. You have quite a lot of energy that will spuriously come forth, however there is a feeling that perhaps it is still quite raw and probably to opinion based - though this is not a bad thing as this does contribute to the zeal - though refinement and enhancement is required and probably also facts and objectivity - and you can probably educate yourself on these finer points - with some kind of how-to training type book which is probably only a paperback and is very available at your most amenable bookstore.

Othala reversed in the position of water, speaks volumes it indicates that in your relationship and emotions regarding the 'King of Pentacles' you are not far from the image of people who front up in a long line to see if there is any work going for the day. You may feel like you have a tenuous relationship with the 'King of Pentacles' and at times you will feel 'its not for me - its pointless'. There is an inherent gift here though, it will give you time to reflect on yourself, and what you really want to do - in many ways I feel that you are following these ideas/ambitions but they are in the big picture truly just a big excuse/an avoidance/an easy way out - so the excuses felt by Nauthiz in the air position, feel as if they point to the real excuses behind the feeling that you have to excuse as indicated. And the 'big excuses' are quite psychologically deep - they are things like, perhaps you didn't take school seriously enough and didn't really get to do anything significant after school, then those that you consider as having done well - you are happy for them but you are annoyed at the heavens - 'why did that not happen as easily for me?' you might think - then perhaps the train of thought was annoyance and a feeling of - 'I'll show them, I'll show what I'm made of' - but its difficult - you have had obstacles and you probably have put a degree of effort in but things still don't come together. And I think you are right - there is a difficult learning curve here and I can feel that you have capabilities and I feel that there has been restrictions and obstacles - in many ways you have been caught in a loop so that the imposed difficulties, were so horrendous that you have developed excuses to stay away from what you were probably originally heading for because you can't face the disappointment of the adversity - it was just too difficult and impossible to overcome at the time. With Algiz upright and in Spirit - you do have a degree of luck on your side - despite being kind of stuck and restricted to a space. Most likely how are in good health and have at least one very strong and supportive relationship within your family - it feels like either an almost manly female or a man that has female receptive type qualities. They feel almost like a sibling but have a parental feel in terms of their support and overarching capabilities in your life - so a person of contradictions. As indicated, the 'King of Pentacles' is merely a short term stepping stone - you may have initial zeal but it will likely rapidly peter out after a few weeks though you will hang in there intermittently for about 6-8mths. There is little reward, many challenges, and has a feel on unimportance and inconsequence over time - however, it is shrouded, its kind of a diamond in the rough and it is not without benefits to you. It can be a ladder up even if only the first two rungs - however I think the nature of your work/career interests will change and formalise over time - the focus of career for you is inner self development - for the initial so many years to come you will most likely not be affluent - there is a quality to living the life of an ascetic. But isn't that what really appeals to you anyway - in your core - you are considerably immaterial - though the day to day pressures of life of course make riches desirable. You could be a person that lives in the desert with nomads and writes a book on your experiences - living day to day with them, and learning how to birth baby goats, help mothers with their feverish children, and read bones for divination whilst your feet and hands are covered in ashes.

This is what the runes say about your intentions and you must keep what they have to say in mind as you work towards your goals. In fact, though, I find them difficult to read, like there is a hold/block on them. As indicated though, much will be revealed over time by means of awareness. Your concerns about work/career are a process of self development - if there are material rewards in the future - they are a biproduct and a means to further journeying that is ultimately inwards.

Group 2, 'Helga's results'
Ingwaz, Othala reversed, Hagalaz
This group shows us the possible wrong results if our intentions are not pure or if we don't put in the effort to reach our goals. Unfulfillment is a distinct possibility and this could be through being too confined by having your own children. You need quite a bit of freedom of action. You could then expect too much of that supportive other that I mentioned. And you could randomly jump ship so to speak and be totally disconnected from your responsibilities. So I don't know if you already have kids, you may have one, the caution is to not expand on where you are now too much or you won't be able to reach your personal goals in life. So maybe even two kids would be ok but this would be a stretch - anything after that will erode your time to attend to your own needs. Of course I don't want to suggest to people how many children they have - after all I have four of my own - however it feels like the 'wheels' will fall off if you go beyond two in terms of realizing your aspirations - you need time in your forties. You will have windows of opportunities and they will be blown away like sand with the desert winds if you are two materially/responsibility restricted. What is it with this reading and deserts??? lol

Group 3, 'Thorfinn's concerns'
Perthro, Sowilo, Eihwaz
This groups represents any outside supports, concerns and obstacles as we move towards our goals. These are a strange set of runes here and tend to make me think that you have like a kind of saint advocating on behalf of you to like the fertility gods asking for extra time. So this makes me think you either don't have children or you may have one son already - I'm not sure - and it feels like they are trying to negotiate so that you can have your family, the colourful clan, that you desire and also reach your work/career aspirations. You will be so undecided yourself - you might be on one break flicking through a magazine and visualising all the highly feminine and appealing style items and then your next break you might be walking barefoot through stones and grasses and whispering to the nature spirits and the gods of wind and water - which I think are especially particular to you and certainly evolutionary influential in the forming of deserts. You certainly have longings - you are listened to - I'm not sure what the results will be - its very much the chaos and rightness of the elemental forces. It will be interesting to see what the next group reveals.

Group 4, 'Elgil's results'
Raidho, Isa, Jera
Me likely! (God I hate that saying - but its so comprehensive, lol).
Apparently, despite the previous groups, this set of runes lets you know how you can overcome all that you have been told and still achieve your goal whilst keeping in mind the possible difficulties of the first three groups. So yes, we still have to keep the other groups in mind. Raidho is all about the being radical here. So something totally radical is required and it probably involves travel or a change of location and considerable change - there is even an indication that you could change your hair - and its a radical 'do'- probably red, but definitely not bald. Its kind of like goodbye old me, hello new me. Isa cautions, within reason, like be sensible to some extent - then there is kind of a laugh feel, and like 'oh to hell with it - go crazy!!'. The sensibility required is in the planning and having like a back up in place - like an emergency go to money source if required - stuff like that - though the most you will need of it is maybe 200 bucks/pounds whatever like if you have to chip in for fuel at an out of the way station and like your credit card is the only thing to progress the situation - umm, that sounds a bit risky doesn't it , anyways moving on...haha. Then the third rune here, Jera, is just lubly! I'm thinking stuff like heavenly scented nights out on the patio of some middle eastern hotel, indulging in something like Turkish delight, and topping up the scented oil lamp with a fruity retsina like drink in the other hand, as you marvel at how absolutely fit your legs are looking.

Not much romance however, though you may have a stalwart companionable chap by your side that is as comforting as a microwaved bowl of porridge with sultanas and a foot soak after living off dried fruit straps and watching the birds in the date palms at sunset - oh, I'm not sure which I'd rather - that's the point, I guess, lol. (sultanas, date palms...what the...??) When I look at these runes, I can here a radio in the background (more Raidho associations?) and perhaps you would get a staticcy(?) reception on a tv now and then.

So, Eihwaz for the situation, is difficult for me to read. It feels like a story going way back that is like such a big file that I can't summarise it. Basically, you dropped out of existence almost, initially, you thought it was for the better and seemed to have a rise to fame (almost or kind of) but then it has felt the same week in/week out for like a decade. You speak of changes, in this rune I can not see changes other than I type of shrinking. I'll need to explore that idea as we go along. Perhaps there has been a recent relationship breakdown like several months ago but it has barely scratched the surface of you. There is also something of a transport nature perhaps you can not go the same way as you used to, perhaps there is like an excise duty on some thoroughfare now and you are classified as being in one area and so unable to get the benefits that say someone only a few kilometres away will get. So those kind of things are coming up but they seem kind of broad and have a superficial quality.

Ingwaz in the position of barriers or challenges tells me that something important is out of date - and you don't know if you will/can renew it - there is the possibility that they will ask you too many questions and you wonder if you will come to some kind of unwanted attention and maybe be worse off than you were. Though, you are not as old as you think - its an excuse you are telling yourself I think.

Gebo, in positive influences is pretty good, I drew Sowilo at first but my mind had wandered so I'll consider whether Sowilo is just as pertinent here - it probably will be. Yes, I think they both are, you have potentially a very good relationship partner around you - you have much compatibility together - they could even be a previous marital partner of yours - they feel like a wife - they really know you and you have a bit of what I term 'hearts and minds' going on where you have a connection/sharing of each others hearts and minds. They require complete fidelity - that's the bottom line - if you can't provide it - they won't bother. A bit of a crossroads for you here - decisions, decisions - however, go with what you think. They potentially will give you a textbook future in terms of a caring, rewarding relationship the stuff that many would be envious of and generally the type of relationship that most people think of when they think of the relationship of two eighty year olds that are still in love with one another. Problem is, you are complex, you like traditional values, but you're not the regular zebra on the savannah (a pun, lol?)You're looking for something, and it may not necessarily be a particular relationship though you will always attract potential relationships. I'm not sure what you are looking for, I think it has an artistic facet to it - and possibly of a business nature. You are potentially a success waiting in the wings - even if its just marketing a particular type of ketchup - you have a star quality to you - but your beleaguered by guilt - stemming from childhood - probably relating to feeling like you let your mother down - it was probably over education.

Wunjo reversed in the near future, tears, and more tears, mostly yours - cathartic on the superficial levels - but you are deep - and very closed to humankind in general, I think. You try things on, situations, people etc, until you decide whether they are right for you but sure enough you know - you have good instincts. When I first looked at the line of runes, I saw a crippling atrophy going on and wondered if you were headed for health problems - I think the increasing closing off to others is atrophying you - there is a shrinking quality that could potentially see you with a condition - spondylosis comes to mind or maybe rheumatoid arthritis - but its a potential - doesn't feel like a given. Running is not right for you - despite the world thinking it is such a proactive way to address ageing. You have to crawl before you can walk, on some level, despite you probably being able to run. The exercise that would benefit you looks like some kind of discs that you kneel or put your hands on - it may be a type of gym equipment but the image that comes to mind is a smooth surface that you can kind of be on hands an knees on and do sort of a set of exercises that has you rotating joints like as if you were on all fours on four discs and did sort of circular movements to move along - I think it is actually gym equipment that would do it. You need low impact, resistance exercises - you have a lot of tension around joints - kind of like you have been permanently kind of holding yourself closed interally so others and the world do not intrude to your core. There are dietary things to that you can do: I can see grains (probably wholegrain and looks like bulgar wheat or barley - something like that), green veges (salad and cooked), pumpkin and similar, and some power foods (kelp powder, acai berries, and something with risonium - which I will now look up - also I'm not 100% on whether these foods are right - also a juice preferably fresh though is a combo and you can use bottled/canned juice - its orange but I'm not sure what it consists of I think its just a good orangy mix of juices - there is probably even other ones like banana and pineapple mixed in. Minimise chocolate, coffee should be out totally unless its like an alternative like maybe chickory root or something. All your normal foods like pasta and sauces are good especially the red sauces - but have less meat, you can tolerate cheeses, drink milk and have eggs though. You need some kind of therapy to bring yourself out of your head - you're not crazy but you need to open up emotionally and you may need a good therapist that gives you exercises to do and you will gain insight and learn to relax and feel safe doing more things and learn that it wont be the end of the world if you open up more. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the going back to the great relationship with the important ex. Move on but open up to the world - but I will leave that to you - there are decisions to be made, and best not to rely on substances to see you through.

Long term results with Thurisaz - very difficult - you are not likely to move off this course that you are on. I try to determine what the true problem is and I think its really just wanting to do what you want to do, on your terms, when you feel like it, with the least amount of disruption to your headspace. Like you give the message, back off and leave me alone, or you relate on your terms - that's probably ok but you are combining it with like a shrinking away into yourself and your current diet - though normal is not nutrient rich enough. I think you need time in an ashram or retreat that only has good food and has some really cool people but the problem is that you would have to put up with the uncool people and the general boringness of it all - that environment may be more conducive to you relaxing your joints and to eating the more nutrient rich diet. You don't need rehab, you just need to find where you are - because after doing it for so long - your locking yourself away has started to make even you not access yourself.

So therapy, nutrient rich food, low impact resistance exercises, and relaxation of joints perhaps with visualisation to strengthen you against your fears of opening up. Of course some people, maybe even you will be horrified with this reading. If you look at it, I've said that if you don't do this and that and if you keep running and drinking coffee than you will end up with severe arthritis - well please look at it more like - consider whether what I'm saying is valid in terms of the closed off thing - and then determine for yourself what lifestyle changes you want to make - perhaps get some kind of conventional medicine prognosis regarding this - especially if you already have any arthritic symptoms. I'm not entirely sure about the foods etc anywhere - I kind of see them but even with myself things change - so maybe its a process of discovery here in terms of your diet and nutrition.

When I wrote 'risonium' I thought, I know that word but didn't know what it was - it may actually be resonium and its given to people with high potassium counts. But fruit juice, especially with banana has probably a fairly good potassium level so I'm not sure about what I have written - I can not ascertain whether its a joke that you'll need resonium with the amount of potassium you'll be getting or whether because it replaces the potassium ions with calcium ions it would actually be helpful - so all up I wouldn't be taking anything like calcium resonium unless it was clinically indicated by a good doctor - but its interesting to me to wonder about this - anyway, any health things other than basics should always be advised by an actual professional - though I can't help but indicate or relay insights. I don't know much about acai berries either, but they came to mind and are apparently a nutrient rich food as are most berries with their high levels of antioxidants.

Sorry if this wasn't what you were after. I haven't read it all back very much hopefully its not too mistake ridden etc.

I just love this question, I'm absolutely excited about this. Ok so I would like to do a 9 rune cast that I scatter the runes with and then I channel what each position means - it is so much fun as the positions always relate to the questions/concerns. However,....I feel inclined to give you a reading using Egil's Whalebone as this seems to really uncover the nitty gritty with a question like this. So yes, I will opt for Egil's Whalebone and hopefully it will answer all of your concerns, Newrise.

So, Egil's Whalebone:

Group 1, 'Carver's intentions'

Carver's intentions is about what the runic system says about your intentions and what they say must be kept in mind as you work towards your goals. So the three runes in this group indicate to me that the runes are pleased. Any restrictions are kind of minor speed bumps on this road to your goals. You will have to change your name though - I'm not sure what that means. Your surname will prejudice you perhaps and you may want to modify your first name (I mean what!!! surely I am not correct with this - don't take this advice unless it rings true - wow I think my readings are going to get wackier as we go along today). Generally there is a feel of go for it but you will have to go incognito - you won't really be doing anything wrong, these runes say - in fact, the runes speak well of you and seem to suggest, 'after all, you can do no wrong'.

Group 2, 'Helga's results'
Tiwaz reversed, Jera, Fehu
This group talks about what can go wrong if your intentions are not pure or if you don't put it the required effort to reach the goal. Straight away I can feel you have trouble here. You are so good, and will sacrifice yourself to the nth degree to have a good conscience, but you can change your perspective you can have your cake and eat it too. You probably feel a responsibility to someone either you are supporting your mother, or you are supporting your mother (I thought I was going to write something else but this sounds the best fit - maybe you even have a younger brother that you are like a pseudo parent of). I don't think you will get around this, Bra! ( I wrote that like bra aka brother - then realized it could be a pun for your mother ie. her bra is massive in terms of what it metaphorically represents about your feelings of what you owe her - so many puns unintended today. Anyhow, basically you have some growing up to do too, you are not still that teenager living at home anymore - I don't think...

Group 3, Thorfinn's concerns

This group is about outside influences - supportive or hindering. I forgot to remove my blank rune so it came out and I decided to draw another which was Othala reversed. I don't like the blank rune but I will try to understand it in this group of runes. I think you probably have access to some kind of vehicle, even if only to borrow it off an uncle, I don't think its a horse, but it might be a motorbike or similar type of vehicle. You may not have a licence though and possibly you could borrow one or get it forged but I'm not sure about the specifics of that - anyway you can get away with it somehow (gosh now I'm telling people to be criminals - where will all this lead? lol). No need to give or the particulars, your too honest, keep the story simple and people will ask less.

Group 4, 'Egil's results'
Mannaz, Raidho, Eihwaz
This group speaks about how you can overcome any dramas and still achieve your goals though you still have to keep in mind the runic themes from the other groups. I'm not sure if you can overcome this situation easily, your thinking and heart centres are too ladened with duty. You are actually over the restraints emotionally but it is duty that is binding you and you feel a responsibility probably to the memory of your father - or was it your grandfather. I think you could initially plan to go around or just after a significant birthday celebration - it could be yours and its probably like April next year - so a fair while away - in the meantime you have to probably go about things as per usual and I think you have some kind of trade qualification/schooling thing to complete. It would be good if the last four months prior to your departure - if it happens, that you put away some stores 'you will need a couple of bags of grain and maybe some kind of legume or similar, you can probably do some work for these - could be chopping down some kind of plantation thing - like bananas or maybe its sugar cane harvesting. You would only need to do a few weekends and you probably can do it at the end of next march or early april I think. Fuel wise you can probably go like 100km on the tank of this little cycle/motorbike thingy. I think your mother would be ok, she can cook she has friends, you're not going too far. You're little brother or whatever that other small person is, will probably follow you in a few years. You are essentially Christian I think and really don't touch strong drink etc, you would enjoy the cinemas and some kind of Christian young people's group or whatever it is. You have like a psychological trauma within you that is affecting having relationships I think. I think you only what to go as far as a big city that has a big timepiece in like a square or an intersection of roads. You could potentially open a shop for ladies clothing, though you seem male, I'm not sure. You could sell stockings and stuff, and may bring your mother across when you are established after about 5 yrs. You might have liked to pursue musical instruments though I think if you do it will be more on an entertainment level. You may marry like later in life but you are heavily burdened in some way probably by your mother.

But seriously, it doesn't seem like it is any bad thing for you to head off, you'll probably bring your mother over later anyway. Ok Watercolordaydream, be prepared, my readings are getting more outrageous each time today, haha.

I think I would like to do the 9 rune cast on this one as I feel a hankering to throw the runes, and caution, to the wind. So with this cast, I will channel what the positions mean - I've done this cast before for a relationship, and I ler-ike eet!

runes 1,2,3 in a line but read pointing east
runes 4,5,6 parallel and directly above but read conventionally
runes 7 and 8, one either side up a level and like ears to the rest of the spread
rune 9 at the apex of the spread, central and above

1 position meaning: where HB is coming from
2 position meaning: where you are coming from
3 position meaning: where you both are headed in terms of relating
4 position meaning: what you want from HB and this relationship
5 position meaning: what he is prepared to give to meet these wants/needs of yours
6 position meaning: the compromise required
7 position meaning: outside influences to you (past, present, and future)
8 position meaning: outside influences to him (past, present, and future)
9 position meaning: Long term outcome (including glimpses of short term issues)

rune 1: Nauthiz - HB is genuine, he is looking for a potential long term relationship, he knows what he doesn't want, and he has a sixth sense in where to look for this potential relationship that he is looking for.

rune 2: Ehwaz - you are out of a string of broken promises on both sides, and broken relationships, they are not measuring up to probably your father/older brother. You have 'fairground' experience in some way, I'm not sure what this means but I think you can quickly attract, have brief relationships and move on.

rune 3: Laguz reversed - difficulties, mainly with you I think WiCeDD (lol). You can hook this guy but do you really want to. He could get vindictive, you would have to watch that too. I don't think he will be able to get too involved with you though he may think he is. You may even present as involved but you probably won't be - you're mercurial and have a great attractive power - with lots of options.

rune 4: Ingwaz - You want everything offered but then you will pick and choose. He could tolerate this, he likes significant things about you. Generally, I don't think you would be good for him as you don't have any tolerance for what you don't want or are not interested in.

rune 5: Kenaz reversed - he can meet you half way but he is good a tracking people and could be vindictive or keep an eye on you over time - he doesn't like to be thwarted when he has genuinely given his 'truth' to someone.

rune 6: Fehu reversed - its a no go, he can come to the party but won't like it if he meets you half way to find that you have taken from him and you're not there. You will suit yourself on your terms and decide on a whim and go where and who with you please - you I don't think would be as committed WiCeDD,as the situation would demand it to have an ongoing liaison with HB.

rune 7: Raidho - You have become a little ruthless and cold hearted to some degree though you are caring and warmhearted too. I think an early relationship really worked you over, heartwise and it was probably as early as 13. Henceforth you basically vow to yourself not to withstand anything that confines you - you are looking for definition however as you don't quite see yourself clearly, perhaps you have a Sun-Neptune aspect that is prominent.

rune 8: Thurisaz - He has had his pride and sensitivities pricked and mocked to some degree possibly already by you but also by someone prior who is similar to you. He feels like a dunce for love but he has not been discouraged, he knows he is genuine himself and he would rather honesty and truth over charades. Despite his very good qualities, like most of us, he has his weak points. He's naïve, a little puritanical and a little bit stereotyped in his core responses - these things can equate to stability for you but they can also equate to boring. But he's not boring he's still maturing, he's been a good child and will become quite a distinctive personality - so yes now he is a bit green but he has layers and these will develop with life experience.
