Man I've been pounded, can't be around for a while. Return as soon as possible.

Junior year very important, must make honor roll, must make honor roll, must make honor roll.

Must go to college, I prefer going to Boston College but we'll see.

My head hurts. Must go to sleep. Grades have been on my kind for too long. Also the PSATS.

I'm under pressure for grades for the first time.

I have to be in the best maths level to be able to do the studies I want.

I hope I can do it

I have to be far more competitive then ever before. I can't allow myself to hear other people doing better in a class that I'm doing as well. Right now it's all about making really good grades to go to college. I have to work very hard, it's going to be my busiest year (2004). I slacked off a little too much last year. Too many other things were on my mind.

I actually did my GPA for all of the classes that I've taken and I basically have a 3.4 average which is a B+ in college classes, but in honors it goes down to a B- and in Advanced placement goes down to a C+. I'm in the college courses which is average and below that is standard. Standard are for those who do not plan on going to college, or they don't work as effeciently. So I have a wide range of people that I must be competitive with. The GPA is the deciding point for your class rank and certain colleges factor that in.

If I can get highest honors in my junior year then I'll be able to blow the competition away. Well except for the brainiacs, who were destined to remain on top in their advanced placement classes, but they won't be applying to colleges that I will. My point is, junior year is the last chance that I have to do well in school in order to go to a great college. Which is important because it's an accomplishment just being accepted. After that, it's a matter of epic responsibility and many bills to pay. I think I can handle it.

Right now it's my biggest goal to be accepted in tough schools that are a little below ivy-leage schools. (I know I mispelled that.) I wouldn't be crazy enough to apply to Harvard they would pee on my application. But I want to apply to Boston College because it's a difficult school and I want to achieve it. Amongst 22,000 they only admit an estimated 3,000 and focus more on out of state kids which I am not. Universities are too large, and I hate large classes, and scattered schools. A little voice in my head wants me to apply, no matter what, so I'm going to follow it even if it's just my ego. I know it's early to be talking about this, but you see I have a very big leap to take, in order to achieve my desires. I have to start now. I have a lot of obstacles in my path. For instance an estimated 32,000 dollar tuition, room and board. Very risky for someone who is not business oriented. What am I thinking?

P.S. Boston College is my ideal. Don't worry I'm strong enough to be rejected and to most likely change my mind. It resides in a suburban area right outside the city which is great for me. It's also a Roman Catholic Jesuit owned institution. But you should see the pictures it's too gorgeous to deny. I have two majors in mind but I think I will remain undecided for awhile. The very unfortunate part is that it's very costly place. Don't worry I will also be applying to lesser colleges as my back up support.

Yes they do both, but some scholarships are useless, for instance you may only get 300 dollars, or 1000 if your lucky, and also the loans can be a pain in the ass when your out of school. All in all colleges are extremely expensive and they've doubled the prices since 1990. The only thing a college gives you is a degree, that's it. That degree will get you whatever job you need. It's sad but true. You could easily go to the library and pay 1.50 for a great education. But people always go for the hard way. I ripped that off of Good Will Hunting.

Star- I've heard that participating in a bunch of school clubs and/or extra-curriculars is a good way to impress colleges. You may not have time for those, but if they meet at lunch you wouldn't be losing too much time. Good luck with the PSAT! I'm taking them too. I'm sure that, if you commit yourself, you can get into whatever colleges you want.

Try applying to Middlebury College in Vermont, it's where my dad works.

If you have to leave the boards for a while that's alright. We'll miss you, and we definately won't forget about you!!!

I don't know. In-state is already expensive. I think my parents would be upset if they didn't get to see me atleast once a week. And I am stealing their money so I owe them that much.

I've thought about college since I was in the 6th grade. That's how much I want to go. I think I got fueled when my brother went, and he told me stories at how great it was. My brother has already graduated, he works in Boston with business analyists. At first I wanted to go to NYU, but I changed my mind due to circumstances and such.

Are you planning on going to college?

Yup. Though I haven't a clue what I want to study. I think a college degree is rather necessary to get a good job now (it means they should improve high-school education). I think I'll find something of interest.

A college degree is only needed to get a job, that's all. I mean most kids in college probably don't learn as much as they do in high school, except for the major they're in. College is needed to be able to survive the demands of society, so I might as well enjoy myself in a nice place, even if it's expensive. Nobody even cares about the grades you got in college only the degree!

Anyway, yes I've been thinking about a major, and I too have been very troubled. For one thing I would be so bored with myself, if I went for a business degree, just becuase it makes the most money. Uranus is in my 6th house, and it's difficult for me to adjust to conformity, you know, 9am to 6pm kind of jobs. Then again Saturn is in the same position, so right now they're bickering at one another, becuase one wants stability and the other doesnt.

Besides that, it looks like it's going to be a Liberal Arts major. But I have to be wise in which direction I will get pulled towards. I had a dream about this and I limited my choices into two places. One, I can pursue psychology and become a therapist or psychologist with a routine job. Second, I can pursue Philosophy and Religion, and then get a degree to become a Professor and teach the stuff I love talking about, on this site everyday. Aquarius is right on my 9th house and so is Mercury Rx.

Both of them are good but only one I think I'll love the most. I want the second one but I'm afraid of the years of schooling and also the tuition of the college I desire. So I'm afraid to pursue what might be the best for me because of money issues. So I don't know. Any advice QOS or anyone?

QOS, do you love Science? I have a sense that you'll pursue something in that area. Perhaps a biology or social science. Something to do with living organisms such as sea life or mammals. An Earth Science perhaps, not chemistry you hate chemistry, right? Physiology or Anatomy? I see you doing something with science.

I don't like school either but I make it through. And I even learn one or two things as well. People aren't stupid they just choose not to care. Although some people can consider not caring stupid.

Me pursue science? Umm... I hadn't considered that at all.
Actually I have-- I'd like to pioneer more advanced space travel, and I've also thought of designing an underwater city. Exciting futuristic stuff.

Go for the religion degree, Star, it is just right for you if you like the idea of teaching.

I don't know, you just seemed like the type who would enjoy getting lots of information. So I figured you were a Science buff! I know you love astronomy but I don't think your a big NASA fan! Right? Am I in the ball park?

Anyone else think I should go for that philosophy degree, and then teach it? I would like some advice!

hi starlover

i wanted to reply to your post much earlier but got sidetracked

if i remember right you are the one having sun ,jupiter and north node in pisces in the 10th house of career.right?
this combo indicates you will shine(sun)in the religion and philosophy (jupiter) option.
north node along with these 2 planets may indicate you may have to pass on your knowledge to others(teaching karma).

but keep your options open.

since i don't know the rest of your chart i can't say abt the therapist and psychology option.how is your 12th house?what is your chiron placement?

i am personally interested in psychology and therapy but don't be influenced but others opinion ; try to know more abt your career options;speak and interact with the students who are already pursuing these courses.

OMG i am now sounding like 'the elder sis'LOL

After long observation I think that my North Node, is really leaning a little more toward the 11th house, but I could be wrong, I think that's the only placement a little bit off. Which I'm not sure of.

Besides that, my Sun and Jupiter are definitely in the 10th house, while Mercury sits in the 9th house as I also happen to speak Portugese. So it does look like I have a strong possibility for a philosophy degree. While my Saturn and Uranus are in Sagitarrius (religion, philosophy, again!) residing in my 6th house (work).

As for psycology and therapy I have Chiron and Moon in my 12th house which I've been told gives you healing abilities. I also have Neptune in my 7th house which is also in a lot of charts for people who are therapists. So I really don't know for sure yet.

I hope the one person I like in school is cool enough to like me back. I am so different from the social norm that I get odd and philosophical sometimes, and people for some reason don't like the depth. Mah, I love depth, My soul is deep, and I feel the pain, but I also feel the love. Do you? It's one of those things in the universe you just have to tap in to. I am so lucky to have known love, if not anyone else at least my self. I hope that people can come in to touch with them selves. dont you? Oh Ellen, Feel my pain, feel my passion, but most of all feel my love...

I never understood the need for homework. I mean, I go to school to learn. Shouldn't I learn AT school?

Do you know what I had to do last night?

I had to stay up until 12 o'clock in the morning to write a Shakespearean Sonnet...and later tonight I have to get started on an Italian Sonnet.
