It was convenient, in a 'coincidental' way, that you posted this, because I was about to make an announcement on a nearby subject. Would it be corny for me to ask for a drum roll? [eek, i hope i haven't said this already ] This summer I'm going to Guatemala for six weeks with my dad, who is an anthropologist. He's going to do field work and I'm going to learn Spanish. For six weeks! Aaaah, it 's a long time to be away from civilization. Then I'm coming back to the States, but not home for another two. I doubt I'll be online any, if at all, in Guatemala, so I won't be able to post. I'm going to be away from LindaLand for so long that my username will probably expire. I think it lasts a month with no posting, right? If you, Randall, could somehow freeze my account and keep it from expiring, that would be great. I feel a little bad that I'm going away for so long, especially when I'm not around much anymore in the first place. I think I should apologize to all the Knowflakes and Moderators and the Webmaster here for posting so little. This is probably why you haven't seen my in a while, juni- I've basically stopped visiting any forum except my own. I could make excuses for my hermitude, but I don't think I will. I'm sure you can imagine what they would be if I did. So anyway, I hope the forum doesn't fall apart in my absence (yeah right) and I will be back in a month and a half! ps- I actually don't leave for two days yet, so I'll be around a little bit longer. juni- we should have an emergency catching-up session before I go. There was a big pool party at the house of some filthily rich parent and we all signed a lot of yearbooks. Someone wrote in mine, "You are a conceited and sarcastic ******* and I love you for it." The choices were to be hurt or to be flattered; I of course chose to be flattered. So the Senior graduation is today, and I have to go to it because I'm in the orchestra. Between then and now there's another pool party, this just with the crew, and afterwards I'm probably going to a movie with my female platonic lova. Sunday I'm going to a friend's house to talk about movies we want to make (we're starting a film club at school). Monday is the packing day. Tuesday... I don't want to think about what happens Tuesday. All I'll say is that it involves the words "Leaving on a Jet Plane." Also leaving on the jet plane will be my school viola. I have two violas, one of which I keep at home. The other is kept at school during the school year and I affectionately refer to it as my 'piece of sh*t'. It gets to come with me to...
