I dreamed I was going to lay a blanket on the ground to sleep on, but there was a yellow jacket there digging a hole in the ground. My first impulse was to kill it, but then I realized I couldn't do that (always retaining my immortality and Spiritual Protection consciousness in my dreams), so I decided to move the blanket over a bit. The main focus of the dream was the yellow jacket digging the hole. Strange! Any ideas?

Well here's my take on it. The yellowjacket could be a symbol for the cultivation of new ideas and such, all because of your conscious choice of immortality. Yellow is the symbol of consciousness, a yellowjacket(is it a bee or a wasp? Not sure) is known to "pollinate", the ground represents the foundation of all things. Also, it is probably a statement of how you are doing a lot more "conscious" living, seeing as you caught yourself before acting on a primitive impulse(killing the yellowjacket).

I hope this helped
Peace

Randall...obviously you were afraid you were going to be 'stung' by the yellow jacket (a symbol of something)...and that symbol was digging a hole under something of comfort (the blanket) to you.

At first you wanted to kill or end what you are afraid of, but after more 'spiritual' thought...decided to move or alter your comfort...perhaps compromise a bit.
You choose to do that to not only end the conflict, but to ease the situation.

That is my take on the dream. And why were you outside preparing to take a nap? As you are a pagan, I feel you were trying to contact a Higher Power in your 'church'....
the outdoors. Was a 'nap' another way of prayer or meditation?

Were you on some unconscious level asking for a 'sign' on something you wanted to know?

This is a beautiful dream, Randall. It is simple, direct, and when I first read it, it gave me a distinct Oriental type of feeling. Pondering the symbology, the yellow/black theme becomes evident.

My interpretation mirrors Nep's. Laying a blanket on the ground to sleep upon is a very grounding and comfortable thing to do. This could simply signify an at-one-ness within self.

Main focus - yellow jacket digging the hole - and this is the beautiful part. Yellow is the symbol of consciousness, enlightenment, immortality, everything that is gold and beautiful. A yellow jacket is yellow and black, and is a pollinator, and is also an insect, and an air sign.

As an insect, it can signify a divine message. As a bee, it can also represent a message from the "gods" or a connection with the divine. As a yellow bee, the symbology is tripled. There is also the bee/wax/candle/enlightenment symbology. Such a simple image with such depth of meaning! We also have the air aspect - communication, thought, spirit. And then there is the pollination aspect, speaking for itself. And it does not end there.

The yellow jacket is yellow and black. In the East, "yellow and black together symbolize the unity of opposites", Thomson. We have this combination in the bee as well as in the bee and the hole. The bee, in this image, is digging a hole. The hole in the ground represents your subconscious, and perhaps that greater aspect of subconsciousness. We have light (yellow bee) entering darkness. Enlightenment pushing into the subconscious depths of the psyche, of the mind, of the greater whole (hole). And it occurs to me, we have you, watching. At least this aspect of self (which is consciously aware, above ground) is aware of the process taking place. It is the third person perspective. This perspective is making itself more physically manifest. It is the connection with the soul, with soul purpose, with divine will.

As the depths are penetrated by this enlightened state, there will be things released, and realized.

And there is also symbology connected with what YIVY stated, which is part of the process, I suppose (the whole fear aspect).

Randall, was not the last dream you posted just this short and "simple"? Something about lobsters and eating or something? As I recall, there was a wealth of information contained within that simple dream as well. The symbology in your dreams as a whole, at least the ones in which you have shared, is condensed. We have triple and quadruple meanings for multiple symbols, each connecting with one another, not separated by definition or by cultural interpretations. Archetypal, universal, and interwoven. These are all indications of higher mind, of connection with soul purpose.

So much within so simple a dream!

So like a Cappy to have an *in a nut shell* dream

Ra~ Could the *darkness* also mean something other than one's subconscience? Like, *away from the Light*? That's the first thing that popped into my mind I've always envisioned my subconscience as a *light* place, rather than dark.

Here's a dream I had recently, and since I was impressed with what you said about Randall's dream, I was hoping you can help me.

I had a dream about Dani (Birdsong) and her daughter, Joanne. She was asking me to
lOOk at Joanne's chart. I pulled it up and she insisted I had her birth place wrong. She said it was Yall, Oklahoma. I changed it and Ya'll OK flashed across my screen in huge letters. The screen was black and the letters were light blue and very large. Then I woke up. I'm not sure if was for them or me or all of us. The only thing I could see is a message telling them tough times were coming and they would be okay and the blue is for healing. I know I'm missing a lot, though. Any help would be appreciated from both of us. Thanks!

Well I believe the "Y'all OK" message(besides being very straightforward ) merely reinforced your insight about healing. The blue for healing among the black of despair seems reassuring enough to me. Also, perhaps the message was directed to Joanne, since it was her birthplace in the dream. I'm sorry, I dont have too many deep insights into this one! If anything tho, the message popping up on your computer screen(am I correct?) probably means you have tapped the Universal System, and since you were doing charts( a service), you may be instrumental in assisting Joanne.

Or I could be completely off. This is all I see, quite frankly. What you can do(this is what I always do for weird statements in dreams), is check the numerology of the statement and perhaps even lexi it.

Take care

Hello, Auriel, it's a pleasure!

Again, my thoughts are alongside Neptunian's. At first glance this dream seems to be your average, straightforward, daily activity type of dream. The type you have when you are working on something. You are an astrologer, and you have dreamed of astrology - not so out of the ordinary. And your interpretation seems good, (although I may differ on the meaning of blue ), especially if you feel it means something, and I do not really see anything important missing.

But I do have a stray thought. It would be interesting to see an alternate interpretation, especially becuase there is so little information (so it will be easy!), one that holds you as the recipient of the message, not Dani. Care to experiment?

In your dream, you have been asked to make a change. What does that mean? I am not precisely certain, but it has to do with the way you look at, or possibly calculate, astrological positions, or perhaps meanings. You changed a birth place. This indicates a change in a fundamental aspect as well as the beginning of something new. There could be something of meaning in the word "place", as opposed to "time" or "date". Any idea what that could mean? It could have to do with some new insight or method that you have or will have concerning an important aspect of astrology. Ring any bells? Are you working on or do you have any new ideas concerning "placements"? According to the dream, this idea has or will come from the unconscious (black screen). It will present itself through the intuition (light blue). Light blue can symbolize intuition, spirit, or that which is divine - among other things. In the context of this perspective, it appears the message is one of a higher nature, perhaps playing through the intuition and coming out of the collective unconscious. You receive the message "ya'll ok" after making the change. So, whatever changes you make to your astrological methods or interpretations, you will be correct.

Dani, in this interpretation, would play the role of the vehicle that the subconscious used in order to bring the message through. She could also represent the beginning of whatever changes are indicated.

Does this interpretation contain any truth?

Yes, it does!! I've been working on the meaning of Chiron for over a year now. My understanding of it is very different from most astrologers. Its "place" between Saturn and Uranus is one of the keys to its meaning. Saturn represents karma and the past. Uranus represents enlightenment. With Chiron placed between the two of them, I SEE it as a key to help people heal from the past, so they can go forward on their path and find enlightenment. Most people I've talked about this with are skeptical and resistant to learning something different from what they have been taught. Most astrologers don't even use Chiron and consider it insignificant, but I don't care. I use it anyway. I follow my intuition and use a lot of things most don't--like the quincunx. I do a lot better with my astrology work when I use my intuition. Most people think this is crazy and hard to believe, but in truth, I learned astrology by intuition and lOOking at charts. I don't do very well with reading dry books. I'm hyperactive and get bored easily. Sitting down and reading a book about signs, aspects, etc bored the heck out of me, and I couldn't do it. So, I learned it on my own.

copyright by Auriel Langford

Thank you so much for the help!!! It came just in the right time. I'm writing a book and haven't worked on it the last couple of weeks. I was writing about Chiron when I stopped. I've been toying with the idea of leaving it out and waiting to put it in a future book. Guess I should go for it, now!

BTW, you are so awesome at this!!! When and how did you learn it??

BTW, Dani does fit into my work on Chiron. She was THE first person to accept my ideas and asks me questions about Chiron. Her first question was about her daughter, Joanne. She wanted to know where Joanne could find help with any healing she needed to do, because she was going through a rough time. Wow, that was a long time ago.

Auriel, I am so glad that helped. I would most definately continue your work on this Chiron matter. Whatever it is you are doing, it is right and good. Trust your intuition on this, and it will later be verified, over and over.

Congradulations on your discovery!

Princess, I apologize for apparently passing over your comment!

You are right, darkness can mean other things, no doubt. But the various meanings always come back to a basic core definition, the unknown. In Randall's dream, I should have said the collective unconscious, and not the subconscious. The ground denotes earth which implies a greater whole, as opposed to something individual, and it is the collective manifestation of individuation, does that make any sense?

Anyway, simply using the term "subconscious" indicates an acknowledgement of a part of your consciousness which is less aware, beneath, not quite as bright, etc. So, even though you may envision your subconscious as a light place (which is a GREAT thing to do!), it is still not as light a place as full, waking consciousness. And the subconscious would actually be represented as colors other than black, such as certain shades of blue, sometimes various purples, etc. Of course, it all depends upon the context of the dream.

So, you are right.

Ra~ Thank you for taking time to address my question, and, yes it makes perfect sense. I hope I don't sound *nit-picky* with my questions, it truly is just my ignorance that prompts them - always wanting all the details of things I am most interested in

Princess, on the contrary, questions are always good, and yours are not prompted by ignorance, they are prompted by intelligence, curiosity, and that spark of intuitive knowing that you have growing within you. Your questions betray any ignorance!

And it occurs to me right now how appropriate this conversation is to your very questioning and reasoning. The fact that you have pointed out certain aspects of perspective concerning subconsciousness and the degree of light contained therein is a tell-tale sign that the way in which you visualize your own subconsciousness, as "a light place", is indeed shining light upon it, and bringing it more into awareness. Your intuition concerning symbology is a manifestation of an awakening, an enlightening.

I would like to hear about your next memorable dream!

Ra~ Thank you for your kNowing words and InSightful thoughts - never do you post something that I am not intrigued or amazed

Interesting you mentioned hearing about my next memorable dream - I have been tossing around the idea for about a week now of asking you about one I had recently - I will take your post as a *yes* so here goes...

My sister and I (in Life, we have basically estranged ourselves from the other) were in a car (she was driving) and pulled up to what was *like* a mailbox, but we were making a *deposit* (as in $$) ... From the passenger side of the car I reached into the box and pulled out a beautiful, well worn and soft, golden colored leather bag - I remember admiring it's touch and cleaning off the dirty smudges others had left there by their handling of it. I remember thinking then, "why are others so careless with something so *fine*?" Then I looked inside of it and there was all this money in gold coins - I *knew* it was gold, but they were *red* in color - some was a bit of paper money too. I started to take out all the coins to show my sister and she said, "let's just take it (the whole bag)." We did and started driving around stopping here and there. I remember feeling very afraid and guilty about taking the bag and thought to try to hide it somewhere that no one would ever figure *we* had taken it. At some point I noticed, and mentioned to my sister, that everywhere we stopped, the same woman - a tall blonde smoking a cigarette - was following us - always with the cigarette in her mouth with a long stream of smoke trailing behind her head. My sis confirmed she had noticed this too.. then I awoke.

I don't know why I remembered this dream, or why it was so vivid (I can still see it all so clearly) - but that I did and it was, makes me feel like there is something I am supposed to realize from it.... sigh

The dreams I remember are ALWAYS *memorable* because I rarely do remember dreaming at all

Thank you, Princess.

There is much to this dream, and I will look at it more thoroughly as soon as I get a chance. The gold and red thing is particularly noticeable, having to do with alchemical transformation. Do you have any interest in alchemy? The meaning of this dream is very much along the lines that we have been discussing. Go figure.

Back soon!

I will get to this soon! Very interesting.

Princess...I'm not sure about the rest of the dream, but I think the tall blonde with the cigarette is your HIGHER SELF...watching you from a distance so as not to interfer in your actions.

So you and your sister stole this golden bag filled with priceless treasure, then tried to hide it so no one would know you stole it. Could it be a 'bag' of memories or experiences? Treasured memories that a part of you has stolen away and hidden? Memories that could enrich you if you didn't feel so guilty about having. What are you trying to hide (that you and your sister shared) from yoursELF? Or are both you and your sister just you...with the sister part saying let's take it and go. Does she protect you in some way?

Your HIGHER SELF is watching to see what you will do with this 'treasure'.

I have looked at the dream a bit, and the interpretation of it hinges on the meaning of your sister. I can see two separate interpretations for the dream, but I cannot get a feel for which one may be correct.

YIVY was hitting on the answers, but we really need to know if your sister, in the dream, represents an aspect of yourself, or if it actually represents your sister. I would normally interpret as if she were an aspect of you, but I am not certain this is the case.

There are numerous symbolic references to communication, for instance (mailbox, smoke, mouth). Does this mean communication with your sister, or is it symbolic of an internal type of communication? There are indications that either could be the case, and perhaps both are meant.

So, what IS your relationship with your sister? I mean, are you estranged because of circumstance or because of emotions? Has there been any recent communication with her? Do you forsee this happening any time soon?

I am now getting the feeling that this has everything to do with her and the relationship you have with her.

The blond woman - what are your feelings about blonds? And about smoking? Your attitudes towards them could affect the translation. Whatever your feelings are, there is one thing indicated by her for certain. Where there is smoke, there is fire. The smoke is from the mouth - communication/speech. This is a warning. Something (probably emotions) is smoldering. It is calling your attention to something that must be tended to before it develops any further. It would seem to indicate some understanding (or lack thereof) with your sister, or at least whatever it is that she represents to you.

A little help? This is a tough one!

YIVY~ I love my sister very much, and miss her more - but things have just not been the same since she tried to strangle me in a fit of rage about two years ago. I haven't had a conversation with her in at least six months. And, these past few weeks I have been wanting to write to her, and pondering what I would say beyond, "I love you, and miss you." ...sigh

Yes, my sister did protect me when I was very small - and no one protected her. So, maybe I do feel guilty on some level about that, but I didn't think so. Since she attacked me, I think I have worried more about her feeling resentment toward me because of that. No, I don't feel guilty; *sad* would be a better word. Yes, I probably have *hidden away* my most treasured memories of our times together as it's a reminder that they are no longer

Ra~ Knowing my sister, I feel like it was *her* in the dream, and as you read above, our estrangement is because I don't feel safe around her - emotionally or physically. I abhor violence, period. I can't watch it on TV, and I'll cover my eyes when it's in a movie! She's extremely tempermental with a very short fuse - and one never knows what will set her off.

Alchemy? But of course I have an interest in it Blondes - I used to be one and have no issues there - well, not till I got sick of hearing my sister making blonde-blue eyed people out to be all that is worthy of being considered beautiful ... I smoke. (YIVY~ that's funny my Higher S-Elf would smoke! )

Hmmm... red/gold/where there is smoke there is fire... let me relate this and tell me if you think it could have anything to do with my dream...

When I went to visit the boys over thanksgiving I collected some beautiful red and gold leaves from the ground outside their door, and brought them home... I put them in a beauitful crystal bowl.

This a.m., at about 2:30 I woke up to the scent of patchouli and burning leaves... when I opened my eyes I could see my husband's sillouette against a flickering amber light on the wall beyond him as he was leaving our room. I felt his urgency and jumped out of bed. When I got to the living room I saw him trying to put out the fire! smoke/fire

The pillar candle I had put in the middle of this bowl with leaves (baaaaaaad idea!) had been missed when we put out all the others before going to bed; a leaf had apparently caught fire, with melted wax to fuel it. It was the sound of exploding crystal bowl that woke my husband. When the bowl broke, the wax and leaves spread for quite a little fire on top of the wooden credenza it sat on. We had been seconds away from an out of control blaze! Although the crystal was so hot it melted the carpet thru to the pad ! I thank GOD/DESS none of the burning wax or leaves flew into the room with it!

So, what do you think? Hope this helps you, Ra - I'm as intrigued as ever !

I agree with VR...This and the other dream threads are absolutely facinating.

Ra, your insight and knowledge in this area is truly enriching for all of us reading! I also would love to take a RA Class!

Randall, were you to add another, I think your next forum should be about dreams, it is such a popular subject that all of us find interesting, after all everyone dreams and wonders what their dreams mean. I think Ra would be a fabulous moderator, if he were so inclined to take on such a thing. Ra, we really appreciate all the wisdom you so freely share on these pages.
