I'm afraid of what might bite in a puddle on a NYC street...

Hey 1scorp

You can see where some big ones jumped and splashed water out of the pond.

Oxy, it's obvious he's fishing for mud cats.

Well, we ended up not going fishing. Long story. I had to buy suits this weekend anyway.

So I guess there's always next year...that is, Jwhop, if you and your blonde Leo fishing buddy want to volunteer to show this city slicker how to fish (puddle, lake, makes no difference).

You mean you would give up a posh Manhattan lifestyle for a weekend?----So you could sleep on the ground, battle ants, mosquitos and other assorted pesky critters, cook over an open fire, fetch water and firewood, drink coffee from metal cups---and all so you could battle wits with some dumb fish

By the way, how are you at cleaning fish?

Cleaning them? You can buy them already deboned.

I already got about 10 mosquito bites from a night-time picnic in the park last weekend. I think that's enough for me for the year.

Hmm..I suppose if I had a posh lifestyle, I might think twice before leaving it.

Well, we've managed to invent lures to lull fish into striking what they think is food but we've never quite managed to invent a self-cleaning fish. Maybe you should take your butcher fishing with you.

Have to say that Deet keeps the mosquitos away-----and everyone else too.

Deet: http://www.barnaclekove.com/barnaclekove/insects.htm

Calamine lotion---for poison ivy, poison oak
TP, definitely
sleeping bag
assortment of bait, worms, crickets and fishing lures---hopefully in a tackle box

Tell your butcher to bring a sharp knife. We like our fish filleted.
