jwhop left for a long hiatus because he couldn't take the BS here

I left for almost 6 months because I was sick and tired of the Bush, Republican and Christian bashing

Lioneye left for a good long time and just started coming back to GU within the last few month

Isis left for an extended period of time ALSO sick of the bashing..

Carma hasn't even posted back yet after being called STUPID and IGNORANT by DayDreamer within 5 posts.

So, don't act like the conservatives are just so mean to the Liberals. We have all taken breaks because we sick of the antics here.

How many times must it be said? YOU have endorsed this style of commentary. YOU endorsed it when you launched lying personal attacks against the President, the US and Administration officials in most posts you've made..instead of discussing the pros and cons of his policy decisions.

You never learned the "Golden Rule"...""And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise."

You were offered debate and discussion. You delivered a full frontal assault against the President's character, truthfulness, honesty, integrity, intelligence, motives, spiritual condition, physical characteristics and genetic ancestry, among other personal assaults against the President and members of his Administration.

First of all, Mirandee has been pretty accurate in the assessments she's made here. I didn't discuss leaving GU with anyone anywhere, but it's true that I haven't been posting, because what's the point when there is no logical debate here? You've got an old-school commie hater, and the younger generation Neo-Con who believes Ann Coulter's on to something. I couldn't ask for two less reasonable people to "debate" with, so there's truly no point in attempting to do so. The more Moderate people of the Right I have no issue with whatsoever, but they don't post as passionately or abrasively, and as such don't tend to railroad the debates the way the stronger personalities do.

Jwhop knows full well that what he said is completely untrue. Anyone can post an article from a reputable source, and he will still take the conversation down to personal insults and diversions from the actual point. Those actions set the tone. Not the person seeking only to inform on the news of the day. "Confrontational personal attacks" are Jwhop's specialty and domain. Others have had to learn to be as vile just to stop from being railroaded by this over-aggressive personality.

Mirandee described very well my personal philosophy on our government, and our right and our duty to hold it to standards befitting our heritage.

What was done to me, about asking for me to scan a federal ID document to prove my heritage is not the same as making a sideways remark about you and Mirandee. OF COURSE I know your heritage- both of you. I would never ask you to prove it, that is just insane.

Now, I am tired of your martyrdom.. either leave or don't but please stop making idol threats about leaving if you are still going to stay.

AG, I am happy that you are just taking some time away from all of this and not leaving GU for good. Like you I know that there will never be a productive discussion or real debate here at GU.

Maybe if we on the "left" just try to ignore the name calling and personal attacks in the future and continue presenting what we believe to be true as if we never read them it might be better. It takes two to make an argument so I guess we are all at fault to a degree. If we ignore the attacks it would certainly show others who the real attackers are.

Part of what is frustrating to the Right is that the Left comes across as blaming everyone but themselves.

Bush did it -
Bush Divided Us

Bush made me more apt to be angry
Those on the RIGHT call names and we should just ignore them (never mind that we do the same)
My Mars made me do it
The Aliens made us do it

LMAO.... I think I would pee myself if I ever saw a complete acknowledgment from any of the lefties here that said 'I called you names and I take responsibility for my actions' without the disclaimer "BUT I wouldn't have done if you didn't make me (insert verb here)"
