And there's nothing wrong with not going to GU. Stay in the fluffy Forums where you can wax philosophical and be admired for flowery phrases.

Yeah, I just want to make it clear that I'm not part of whatever club or whatever harem. I think LTT should be sending her emotional prayers to heaven in gratitude that jwhop would be sent to refine her ignorant, immature views. I agree with 26T that it is disgusting that she would agree with HSC AND ENCOURAGE THIS when he is clearly at his worst. I have always been one of Steve's greatest fans but I would never cheer for THIS. Good thing Steve's never going to speak to me again now, or I'd have to worry that if I invited him to a family function someday that it would end with him and my politically obnoxious ex-marine uncle (who has lung cancer) in a fist fight. Of course, it would probably be my Scorpio rising uncle throwing the punch, not Steve, but hey HAPPY THANKSGIVING ANYWAY! RIGHT?! And those who poke the stick at the bear can always claim to be pacifists, eh? Where's that idiotic picture of the dog laughing that LTT always posts when she wants to laugh at someone? <insert that here>

Yep, said all of this to you many times, and again today. I'm saying it now here so it's clear to people like Tink and Juni who I've began to connect with, that I don't want to be lumped in with you (and LTT) on this just because I have constantly stood by you when you were wrongfully accused in the past. This is all you buddy. I told you earlier, not on the board, and you didn't want to hear it. You'll see it in a few days, like you always do... the few times I have seen you behave badly. In the mean time, I'm making my position clear to the community to prevent future misunderstandings.

I've noticed, you seem to have the same affliction. I think most people do, but few of them admit to it, so, there's no question of rubbing their noses in it. But I've seen it. I'm actually very proud of my composure. The people who told me I went too far are all going way too far now. Here I sit, taking it all in, half-amused, half-stunned and disappointed. The irony is breathtaking. I hope you feel better soon, Mel. God Bless, S

"Sometimes it gets to be too much."Sorry, HSC, I shouldve worded it differently. Sometime you and a couple of others here get to be too much. That is really what I meant and shouldve said there. It seems to me you are just being really stubborn now. I truly dont understand how you and LTT cannot see the sense in a lot of what was said by the people here over and over again in so many ways. And instead sit there smugly thinking you have us all figured out; sad that we dont know ourselves as well as you do. It's a shame isnt it? IP: Logged |

"I've noticed, you seem to have the same affliction.I think most people do" duh but not everyone has a gentle friend who will try to talk sense into them before they completely embarrass themselves "The people who told me I went too far are all going way too far now."
yeah, well, what a pity we are all connected and empathetic and psychic sponge people. How many days have I read this and what else have I dealt with before I did "go way too far"? And so many wonder why no one trusts the anymore with all of the insincere hearts coupled with condescending and sarcastic statements. A little honest "pizzed off" is more loving any day.

I've got to run, my brother is calling me soon. I took the night off from work. Talk to ya'll later. IP: Logged |

Just wanted to share something I wrote on the other thread just now.To all my fellow knowflakes. I just want to firstly follow GG's example, and say to you all "Namaste". Secondly I want to apologize in playing a part in all the negativity that has been going on here lately. If Satish Kumar was here, reading this, what would he say? If he were to come here and speak, you would hear nothing but the kindest, gentlest words in expressing his viewpoints. You would find in his words no sarcasms. His manner of speaking would be gentle through and through, even towards those who were not so gentle to him. This is what most people find so overwhelmingly challenging. Perhaps when we love ourselves enough, it wouldn't feel so necessary to run so quickly to our own defense. Once we have learned this, the great challenge would be to undertake the task of breaking through all those old habits that have been with us so long, probably for most of our lives on Earth. I admire this man. I admire Satish Kumar. It seems so tragic that a thread dedicated to the book by such a wonderful person, turned out the way it did. I am sure that if I was a lot more like him, I probably could have helped to keep things peaceful. I know that many of you don't agree with such a man's outlook, who left his life as a young Jain monk to undertake a peace pilgrimage, inspired by Ghandi.
I just wanted to say, if he was here, we would be touched the gentleness, the humility, of this humble soul. He would not try and push his viewpoints on others; he would only offer to express them, peacefully. It is a gift that we are able to think for ourselves.
It is a gift that we can learn from each other.

LTT, I, for one, accept your apology. Linda (I gather from her writings) was a bit of a dichotomy. On the one hand, she was opposed to blind killing in the name of patriotism. On the other hand, I have heard that she was very patriotic. I really see nothing wrong with living within the grey of both beliefs. One thing pacifists don't quite understand is that some people are beyond rehabilitation...and that sometimes violence IS the answer. Linda herself admitted that, on the one hand, it was a tragedy how we stabbed the Native Americans in the back after they befriended and helped us, slaughtered them, stole their land, conquered them, and then had the audacity to call them the "savages," while, on the other hand, America could not have become the "Ordained by Divinity" country we became otherwise. Perhaps, there is a bigger picture at work when it comes to racial and country Karma that we (having myopic vision) cannot yet fanthom. Sometimes there are higher forces at work in these matters. Not all the time, but maybe just some of the time.Mel, I have never lumped you with that group--not even when you have supported and defended them. I do believe that you have always acted in good conscience. That is why you are a Mod here--because I trust you and your judgment. HSC, you remind me of Anakin Skywalker when he joined the Emperor. He so thought he was on the right side. He truly believed it, and it was clear that we all would have made some of the same decisions if given the same circumstances. That is until he killed the younglings. He went over the edge. Don't go over the edge, Jedi. ------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
