greetings ~ it has been quite some time since i was at the site, and i see some things have changed ~ this forum, for instance ~ i think this is great, and i think i'll be here often ~ i write a lot of poetry and prose, but most of it is very personal ~ i like the love of my life to wake to something beautiful every morning, so i write ~ i have never shared these words with anyone but him, so here goes ~

~I walked at dawn this morning, and what greeted me as i stepped out into the cold, was the moon in her full magnificence hanging low in the sky, waiting to give way to first light of day. She wore the solemn face of one burdened with the unconscious dreams and hopes of the world, and she took my breath away. Yet, even in all her celestial beauty, she paled in comparison to the ethereal light that resides within your heart and soul ~

~ man, seeing that in print is wild! i'd like to share one more ~ i think this is my favourite to date ~ good grief! this feels like giving away my children!!!

~ do you hear me whisper in your ear as you sleep? i send you waves of light and love in softest colours of dawn, to draw you up from your sea of dreams...in phantom beauty i envelope you in my warm and tender embrace...i gently kiss the night from your eyes and brush the stars from your hair, and smile with gladness as the universe returns you safely to thoughts of the now...for the night has been as long as it's been dark, and quietly i've stood at the gate and watched over you my love...tears are mine as the day calls me homeward and i must leave you once more, but know i'll return as the world becomes heavy, and again you set sail ~

~ i love romance...can you tell? ~ this is the first poem i wrote for my sweetest heart ~ by the way, we're both sagittarians...what a roller coaster passion play!

~ the dream ~

i had a dream,
what joy was mine!
to see you standing there,
in the space between thought and time.
oh! such vision rare

i touch your face,
just for a moment.
you speak no words, but smile.
such a lovely heart to behold.
and i wonder all the while

tender eyes look through and beyond.
what is it you see there?
a place to rest your weary heart?
a kindred soul to watch and care?

and the heavens then,
looked down and smiled,
angels danced lightly on the air,
and spoke to me words of hope~
it was almost more than i could bear.

"for lessons learned,
a job well done,
and a life well earned and lived,
we've presented a gift to you.
he's one of ours,
a child of soul,
please keep this treasure true."

then i held you in my arms,
i layed a cheek upon your breast.
i breathed you in my life once more,
and put my soul at rest.

If I asked for your loyalty,
would you lend me a dollar?
If I cried in my sleep,
would you know to close the drapes at noon?
If you saw me standing on the corner,
would you hand me a paper bag filled with
chocolate and good cheer?
If the rain were to kiss my face as I laughed,
would you paint me a rainbow and call it a dream?
And if you told me you loved me,
would you draw a line from me to you,
and see the future in my eyes?

~come to me in the sea of dreams; come to me any way you will...for my heart is weary with this life; simple enchantments no longer ring true...you lift me from mists unseen, and renew my spirit with words tinged with love, untouched by mortal tongue...you have become the path that leads me home...leave a light burning for me on this road of promises of tomorrow that I now tread, and let me rest not but for a while, but a lifetime within the breath you breathe; the heart that beats a lullabye to my soul ~

unfortunately, my heart breaks from love seemingly unrequited, yet still I push on...

quote:

I wrote this immediately after a baby finch that I found and cared for and fed all day let out one last goodbye chirp and died.

Baby

Oh, little One
A fragile spark of Life
Never to be engulfed in flame
Perched on a Payless shoe box
Missing your mother
No substitute am I

...but I Loved you

Abandoned and lost
Fed foreign food
And kept isolated
For your own safety
Just for a little while
Until you are strong enough to leave
And I, tortured by your loneliness
Waiting for the day
You can fly away

...because I Love you

Alas, your wings will never soar
On Earthly winds
Nor will you perch on power lines
Like your brothers and sisters
Or taste the misty rain upon your face
For death stole you away
When I wasn't looking
And left me with the pain
That never heals
But this day
And every day
You'll soar on wings among the Angels
And fly toward a Sun that never fades

...and I will always, always Love you

Randall Mixon

That was beautiful. I felt the same way about a baby bunny. And feel. "The pain that never heals." Perfect.
