When I left her I wasn't quite sure that I wanted to leave But then again, who knows when the little things Will begin to add up to bigger thingsWhen I moved on Didn't know or not if the time had come Didn't know if my presence would help at all Just a thing that I did because things that I felt seemed to lean that way With Lindaland a fairly recent memory And with the loyalty that I am and feel still screaming inside of me I said goodbye No wonder everybody cries at the end of the show No wonder the best place that I've ever known still tugs at my heart just so Still I'm no rolling stone Hell I'm not even a stone at all Just a bag of flesh and bone A simple sentimental soul That cries at the end of the show Then says goodbye. daf (An explanation follows in my next reply.)

Some of you are perhaps wondering why I am no longer at Lindaland. Some of you may not have known. (Some of you may crack open the champagne.) Some of you may not care. Here's some closure: I was banned from Lindaland, because it was time. It was time 3.5 years ago when I first left. Read the poem carefully..and perhaps you'll understand how long ago this process began. Now it's coming to a conclusion and time has come for new beginnings. Knowing it was time, I put a red cape in front of the guy with the loaded gun around here when the opportunity came up, and he did what he was expected to. (see also: Linda's Thoughts On Teaching For Money) (It's no coincidence that I brought both Randall's career and reputation into question in that post in Linda's Life forum. That's how you get a Cappy to lose his cool..and in this case, do his thing.) Randall set me free. He freed me from what was a self imposed obligation to keep coming back. Typical Cancer Moon, I'd assigned myself the duty of watching over this place, because I didn't feel that the gentle people were being represented or defended properly. But that is life. And that is Lindaland and most other public forums. I'm happy now. The gulag I've been sent to is not so bad. In fact, it's a long time since I've been content enough to be inspired to write anything at all. I'm that content now. Lindaland's a beautiful place, full of beautiful, gentle souls. Guides by example. They should be cherished and protected; guarded more heavily than anything else you have here. Loud mouthed, opinionated people like me and the rest of the yack back, intellectual blow hard crew? Are a dime-a-dozen. If you're looking for me, you know where to find me. I'll try not to spam Randall's hard drives with too much more of this then. May your path lead you to what you are hoping to find. Goodbye everybody. daf

I'll agree with you on that one--you should have been gone 3.5 years ago. But I put up with your constant jabs and contention in the name of free speech. Those who find themselves fooled by your Love and Light act will see your true colors when you have another of your episodes. We'll see if they put up with it for 3.5 years. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." I dont think its about being fooled.
Daf is a complex person. "No unevolved soul is born with a Scorpio Ascendant." ~ Isabel Hickey ('Astrology; A Cosmic Science') Its not an act, Randall. He really does have the best and the worst in him. He has a war going on inside him. Few people can relate to his passion, and to the kind of temptation he faces daily. Needless to say, I can relate to it. And I'll be banned sooner or later, for one of my own episodes, no doubt. And I wont blame you, Randall. I've been grateful for your generosity thus far, and every day I get to stick around here is a bonus, as far as I'm concerned. But I also understand Scorpios. Not saying I would put up with another like myself, but, at least, I know its not about fooling people. I hope someday Daf finds the eagle inside himself, and hangs on long enough to become a phoenix, too. Then, we here will truly be at a loss. Daf, if you read this, please, dont give up on yourself, no matter how many people give up on you to save their own necks. They are, after all, only human. But you have the potential to be much more. I believe you'll be a phoenix yet. God bless, hsc

Us "ungentle" souls have our place in --- and out of this world too, daf. Want to know a secret?
Some of the most deep down genuinely gentle people i've ever met come across as loud mouthed, opinionated, arrogant, blow hards. Isnt that something? You are loved. IP: Logged |

You are fooling yourself if you think anyone else is being fooled by daf, Randall. “The face of the enemy frightens me only when I see how much it resembles me”
The rule is perfect: in all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane. Mark Twain (1835 - 1910) He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare, And he who has one enemy will meet him everywhere. Ali ibn-Abi-Talib Observe your enemies, for they first find out your faults. Antisthenes (445 BC - 365 BC) A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends. Baltasar Gracian Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake. Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821)

HSC, I doubt you would ever be banned. I had to take your Mod status due to some fighting with other Knowflakes, but I find your contributions here to be very valuable. AG is still around, so that's a testament to my tolerance level. It takes a lot to be banned from LL. With Daf, it was building for some time. Unless involving threats of violence and/or racism (a guaranteed instant ban), you are probably safe. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I find your contributions here to be very valuable."Thank you, Randall. --------------------------------------------------------
AG has been a friend of mine for a while now.
I have not been witness to his negativity. Perhaps he saves it for jwhop? I dont get over there much. AG has always shown me his patience and good sense. I will continue to think of him in this way, until seeing contrary evidence for myself. And then, God willing, I will make the effort to see his goodness. Lord knows, he has done as much for me. And, if I may be so bold as to speak for him, I'm sure he appreciates any efforts you have made, as I do. God Bless

I agree. It is a very well put together site. Greg was amazing at web design. It was his forte. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things."
