Incredible NosiS! What strikes me most is the calm, serene yet determined expression you captured on St. Michael's face. No fear at all.....I think it's the most captivating part of the piece.

Youre awareness of light and shadow is really exceptional too! So the one below is not the finished painting?

And yes, please do get around to sharing more!!

That is gorgeous! I'm speechless

T;
My brother-in-law would simply die for your wolf picture, he has his whole house done in wolves. What did you use on that? Is is felt tip pen, and charcoals? Beautiful.

AG;
Thanks for the directions. I will make sure not to scare anyone next time. lol.

yes, that's what I thought, about the pastels.
I've seen those pens before at the scrapbook store, I believe. Art supplies are not cheap. It stinks, don't it.
Do you do any other stuff?
I make jewerly, but NOT very well. lol.
I have tried to teach myself to crochet and knit, that results in me throwing stuff across the room.
I do calligraphy.
I did the invitation to my daughters 18th bday party back in feb, I thought my hand would fall off.
I've never used a quill pen before, what is that like? Is it hard to control?
Things are always a little bit more difficult for me, because I am left handed.
Learning the proper slant in calligraphy when your left handed is challenging!

I was just staring at your picture, kind of spacing out, so to speak, and I saw it completed, with his front paws in the front and a white rose.
Just a suggestion.
People always seem to draw wolves with dream catchers or something Native American in them, don't they? Or with other wolves. A flower would be a cool contrast, I would think.
Good Job Artist Lady!!!!

awwwwwwww! pretty kitty! Yes, please, green eyes! Green eyed cats are the best.

Daughter is here now, staying the night with her digital, will see how it goes taking photos of my drawings...and then posting them a (ahem) normal size, unlike my photograph debaucle (sp?).

Camera Obscura has apparently been around for centuries. The projector-maker uses that as justification for it's legitimate use in art now.

See now I just threw away a perfectly good projector two months ago, when I moved, cuz i hauled it around for years and never knew it. Thats why people should just trade their stuff.
I woulda gave it to AG or anybody, if they paid for the shipping.
Don't mind ole idealist me, it's a sag thing.

Yeah, that's why the projector feels like cheating. I'm sure I'll move away from it for some of the stuff I want to do. There's an idea already somewhat developed (in my mind) that won't require any sort of precision as to what the elements look like. I look forward to doing that one (or those ones as may be the case). I might do a multi-canvas thing to tie the elements together more intentionally loosely.

Marvellous drawing T and Nosis! I love the one with the naked woman and the flowers T. The simplicity of your style there, you make it look so deceptively easy.

I don't draw much but I'd like to do more of it. I've got this sketch of my cat and one where I started drawing a plant called a Euphorbia in the garden once. I like the euphorbia drawing (it filled the page when it was finished but I don't have a pic of that). I liked it because I hadn't picked up a pen in years and when I did it "flowed", and there was some development there from previous attempts, although I don't know why.

Wheels, theyre beautiful! It doesnt surprise me you are so talented either. I love your cat and the softness of the drawing..and the detail of the Euphorbia, well done. Yes, i know what you mean about not drawing for awhile then coming back to it as if you never stopped. When it's there, it's there.

Thanks for sharing.

AG,

& yeah, diptychs and triptychs are really visually interesting and fun to do. I'm trying to get a really large one going for above my couch, but havent decided on a subject or color scheme. I'm thinking of a wooded scene since it would fit with what i have in the room but havent decided yet.

AG,

Thanks for the instructions on the technical methods of posting graphics here at LL.

NosiS,

Those are such breath-taking works of art! You are amazing!

Wheels of Cheese,

Marvelous works you have there, too!

GypseeWind,

You are an artistic lady. I didn't know you made jewelry and practice calligraphy Being left-handed is not all that bad, you know- that means your right cerebral (or something like that? Sorry) is more active than many others, who are right-handed. The left hand is also considered "the hand of the heart", as the whole left hand and arm are directly linked to the heart, and this has its own symbolic meanings. I was born right-handed, but trained myself to be left-handed, which took me a decade to profess. I am ambidextrous now.

But, well, yeah- being left-handed is not all that convenient for calligraphy...I feel you, GypseeWind.

At last, but definitely not least- T,

Using the Internet at a cyber cafe instead of at home is probably better for you, I suppose. It perhaps feels healthier.

Sounds like you are in talk therapy. I wish you all the healing light, and finally bidding farewell to your bouts of depression. Rock on, T

D

I love tryptchs too. The best ones, IMHO, are city scapes, mountain scapes, sea scapes, scenes from a cafe type thing. But I never like them in geometrics, and especially not in faces. It's disturbing to see a face, or faces broken up into threes, don't you think?

D
Wow! You trained yourself to be left handed? thats amazing. My right hand is barely useful for anything.
When my grandfather was in school, he was left handed and his teacher tied it behind his back (apparently this was a common thing then) so he could be "right" handed. I always sensed a tortured artist thing with him. Like a struggle between logic and emotion.
You say the left arm is the "arm of the heart?"
Interesting, my left arm has been killing me for a month. My heart don't feel too good either.

Thanks, T! I will try to share but I've been so busy lately. I hardly get any time to respond here.

I don't use a drawing grid. They are useful but I have a lot more fun when I draw freehand. Even if I'm trying to copy something. Maybe it's the challenge that attracts me?

Cool animal drawings! Are you coloring them with marker or watercolor?

Thank you, Gypsee and wheels!
